    Colour changing LED's?

    Quoted from Jvspin:

. Perhaps the art direction was required by Marvel to get the license?

Absolutely. No reason to think Marvel are any different than other license holder in dictating the direction of the art.

I think the whole package looks great. In terms of features, it sits up there with recent premiums. So pricing should be similar.

The target customer is not current or even previous SM owners. It's collectors who want nib premiums or Le's. They have never owned an SM. Maybe they entered the hobby after its release. Money is not so much an issue as condition and collectability. SMVE will deliver on both. No question this will be the desirable SM version in future.

If I didn't already own a nice SM, I would most likely have purchased this. If Stern released Tron VE or TSPP VE I would also purchase those instead of a used one. If any of those titles, including SM, were to turn up on Pinside market or Craigslist NIB now (through a dealer or privately) they would have to be at least the same price as SMVE.

If an original SM turned up NIB on Craigslist at $6500 I don't think it would last long.

And add to this that these are available to a global market. It might be easy to get a really nice HUO SM in the US, but in Europe and Australia, not so. When SM was released originally, most sales in Australia went to operators and they were heavily routed.

    Quoted from Aurich:

For an even worse price than in the US.

You'd be surprise how quickly we adapt.

I'm not saying they'll sell 1000's of these, but there will be enough demand for a few 100.

I like the idea that it should have been a Numbered LE from the beginning.
