I am hesitant though because of what I've read about the excessive dimpling and pooling (whatever that is).

Its like politics, opinions are split 50/50 here. My opinion says I ain't touching a nib stern for a long time and I've bought plenty in the past. My collection proves I'm not a stern hater so take it for what its worth... jack shit.
