Quoted from jandrea95:I really wasnt feeling whatever they were trying to do with the Chicago kids...
I somehow liked that part, but usually don;t care for the old spin off type episodes.

Quoted from jandrea95:I really wasnt feeling whatever they were trying to do with the Chicago kids...
I somehow liked that part, but usually don;t care for the old spin off type episodes.
Quoted from Capn12:I'd think the consensus overall, is that Season 2 was the 'worst' of the 3 so far, and that 3 sort of brought back the fun and magic of the show.
Hmm...I wouldn't agree with that at all. I felt like a lot of people were a little down on 3 becasue of the relationship angles going on.
It was also for sure the corniest with the super 80s movie tropes going on; but it didn;t bother me personally.
Quoted from amstrick:...60 million people streamed the entirety of Season 3 within a month of release. Comparing it to CSI or the Sopranos is pretty off base.
I think you should revisit CSI ratings
Quoted from amstrick:Season 8 of CSI (the year the pin came out) averaged 12.19 million viewers per episode. Revisit complete!
You're comparing world wide numbers of Netflix to US only numbers of CSI.
"CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION gathered more than 73.8 million viewers worldwide beating out last year's winner House. CSI previously won the International Audience Award in 2007 and 2008"
I'm not saying ST isn't a massive show, obviously it is, I'm just saying it's not as a crazy diff'rence like you're thinking.
And let's not even get into Netlix's viewership numbers that I don;t think anyone believes.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Stern must love that one. It's cheaper to put...
I've always preferred them from back in the 80s/90s, just the way I feel not a deep look into cost analysis.
Quoted from jandrea95:the name "Pinball Pete" makes me giggle. My buddy, pinball pete, lol.
Even funnier, he's an elephant!
I mean obviously a lower PF would have to be mirrored and backwards for it to work but unless it was tits I'd be out quick on that...then again I'm a pro buyer so it wouldn't have it anyway I guess. Make it a split PF and get it over with.
Quoted from pinballaddicted:Definitely. Kaneda is becoming toxic and not good for the hobby at all.
Haha....just now? He just started?
Quoted from Rockytop:Love Eddy...I have all three of his games, but not Lonnie. I’m not a fan of his work. Hopefully like Elwin, Eddy is heavily involved in the rules as well.
Excited to see Eddy....Lonnie not so much
Quoted from nogoodnames222:I'm a big fan of Star Trek + Tron and no problems with Guardian's code (though I haven't played it too much). Any kind of glaring flaws across his games?
Takes a long time to get the code done, and I don't think it's very interesting; Kiss being a good example. Xmen, avengers...
Tron had Lyman on it & ST had Dwight...did they both get put on this projects to finish them?
Anyway, Lyman takes along time to get finished but you know it's going to be top notch.
Quoted from chuckwurt:They need to get someone to make a ton of those in a normal cabinet.
Cab is the worst
Quoted from mrclean:[quoted image]
I don't know what that means, but I was referring to the actual Alien cab construction not the art.
Quoted from HookedonPinonics:..., I would love if all the call outs were done by a drunk Jim Hopper.
Worked for DH!
Quoted from mrclean:MMMMM 2 scoops of Robin please![quoted image]
There's the Uma in her
Quoted from Rarehero:I like how she says “crayon” the way I do...”cran”....lol...drives my wife fucking nuts.
Wife west coast? Cran gotta be midwestern, "Cray-on" is totally weird.
Quoted from Darscot:... If your selling a product anywhere near the Christmas window in the United States consumers have to at least be aware before black Friday.
Like Rick & Morty? Like any pinball machine before? Pinball folks and OPs aren't John Q Shopper
Quoted from aingide:* Flow, progression and shot balance is designed to feel like MM or AFM
Bah I hope it's not the same old rules.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Did you read the rest of it?? Haha.
Yes I did and it sounds great, and I got monies set aside if it's good, but it really doesn't tell me anything.
"40+ modes" sounds great, but it could also be pointless or give you the Star Trek shoot the lit shot boring feeling. Or "you hit 10 pops that completes 1 mode" type of thing.
I'm just saying I don;t need another "shoot all shots 4 times to ...." like MM/AFM/MB/CC.
The projector thing i can't even imagine so I'm trying not too, could be great!
Quoted from chuckwurt:Why? Isn’t more fun to be excited about a game?
Well as Kramer would say there are levels.
You know a lot of people here start having their fantasies aboot what a game will have early, and then get all butt hurt when the game doesn't live up to their weirdo ideas.
Quoted from chuckwurt:I’m .......Pinball is ALWAYS fun. Don’t like a game? Move on. Like a game? Enjoy it.
Sure sure Chuck but you're what we call "a well balanced person," a rarer breed around here than you'd think.
Quoted from Pinzap:How do they make a less expensive pin (i.e a pro model) without cost cutting?
Well some start with the Pro and then add shit on to make the LE.
Quoted from delt31:Damn no projector on the pro could be a deal breaker.
I wouldn't call off your dogs yet, the projector could be a great idea and shitty IRL
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Playfield projection technology does not bode well for pinstadium...
That's the only positive we are sure of this early.
Quoted from yancy:That said, I'm not in love with photorealistic pinball art in general.
There is something to that. If it's too realistic then it juts looks like a picture, which takes you back to the photoshop days we weren't that happy with.
Quoted from westofrome:Star Wars style ball launch is worrying.
Nothing new aboot auto launchers, SW issue is design not mech.
Quoted from dri:So the RGB LED craze is out of fashion already?
This has them doesn't it? Has plain white arrow inserts usually used for RGB
Quoted from CrazyLevi:This is an old tradition on DE/Sega/Stern games.
LOTR's golden butthole
ID4's necrotic vag
Toaster-sized brain bug orifice monster on Star Ship Troopers.
Embryon is the OG
Quoted from iceman44:No you are thinking about the R&M purple nightmare Law. This is purple done right.
Well luckily I don't have to pick sides on companies, they both look like shit
Quoted from Stevemoerke:Can someone explain to me what it means on the Matrix when the pro has 2 things that the Premium and LE doesnt have?
The premium has the same stuff, but better.
As in the Pro has the demogorgan, the Prem+ has a shaking demogrogan etc
They both have a transsforming ramp, but the pro needs a sticker cause the prem+ is white to use for the projector.
Quoted from sohchx:I used to love me some Shenmue
Do you still feel like that cat owes you something for feeding it all the damn time for nothing in return?
Because I do. Now if you'll excuse me I'm looking for some sailors.
Quoted from KozMckPinball:Is it basically one episode that continues on and on like 24, and kind of like a non-episodic X-Files?
It's not a "monster of the week" episodic.
Quoted from Iwasthebruce:So...lemme get this straight...the 2 coolest features, the magnetic ball lock and the projector are only on the prem/le? Why even make the pro version?
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Another day, another new entry in the Big Book of "If Pinside Ran Stern They'd Be Out of Business in a Month."
Quoted from iceman44:Can I put you down for the purple edition Law? You seem awful excited for this one
That purple looks like American Chopper blew a load on it.
I'd never buy an LE unless it was cheap later or something. Premium.....maybe.
Quoted from Chitownpinball:Honestly this game looks like a lot of chipping wood like Avengers with all the same inserts on each shot.
Yeah that was sort of my worry aboot this. I don't hate fans, but if you're coming back to remake AFM/MM with the exact same schtik it's boring.
We'll wait and see if there's enough extra "new" rules to freshen up some of the old routine.
Quoted from Dr-Willy:I haven’t watched any of his stuff but see it plastered everywhere. Why the hell does he have a the same picture of his face on every still preview image?
It sort of sets the tone becasue he just seems confused in anything he does. Oh and he really doens't like plastic ramps.
Quoted from snaroff:Keith’s JP2 design is a perfect example of...
I'm not disagreeing with your points but that does have 3 flippers that really changes things.
Quoted from kermit24:Code is supper early. .62
New game setup menu when you first turn it on.
Oh Lonnie...
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Who is this guy and why would I care what his first impressions are?
Quoted from TheLaw:Can someone do another video to tell this guy what a fucking T-Rex is?
Sweet jesus.
That's whom.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:I'm not sure what translite looks worse, GOT Pro or Stranger Things Pro?
GOT and it's not even close.
Quoted from cleland:Is there a Club Thread yet?
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stranger-things-club-join-our-party
Quoted from pinmister:I am more concerned with ghosting inserts...
Don't think that's been an issue for awHile?
Quoted from iceman44:Well first you always have the band of Stern haters....
Bean counters are the worst for me.
Quoted from usandthem:I wouldn’t want to spend $5700 on a pro and be the first to report such defects.
Why not? Wouldn't bother me....we were all doing it with our pooling JPs
Quoted from chooch:Any links to the previously streamed videos? I'm sure they were posted but I have a lot of catching up to do.
Quoted from kpg:I also just looked up who designed that and it's a Borg design. So maybe it takes a Borg designed playfield to improve Lonnie's code..
Apparently it takes other people bailing him out on code.
Quoted from Eskaybee:I think the best thing to come from stranger things pinball is robt , kpg , and even rarehero are back! Lol
I think Rare came back for Rick & Morty
Quoted from CrazyLevi:These are the same ideas everybody suggests for every pin.
Every theme is “perfect for magnets!!!”
FFS seriously.
My favorite variant in this thread is after reading 500 posts that it's a AFM clone, Eddy should of added in pop up like Medieval Madness.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Is there any chance of Stern getting the season 3 video assets in some future code release?
Absolutely 0%
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Yeah. There's a good number of pins based on TV shows that are missing around half of the content from the show as the game is released while the show is halfway through its run....GOT,
Yes I'm sure we're all clambering for that universally loved ending to GOT!
(today I learned clambering is spelled with a b!)
Quoted from jonesjb:Is it hand drawn illustration like Christopher Franchi creates? Or is it Wacom pen PhotoShop paintover effect like this:
At a certain point there isn't much of a diff'rence, that's the problem.
Quoted from Looprunner:J...Again, I have no idea how pinball companies deliver software but I like that they delivered the first release in an MVP fashion. This allows the player to drive requirements for the next release.
And to me this seems liek the complete worst way to make a pinball machine. Feedback of course for bugs and issues, but wants and desires from players that's what Pinside is for.
Quoted from T3quila:Well, DLC of course wouldn't be free. Imagine you can buy season 3 in a year and then season 4 in another. All new assets and modes and you decide on the setup which seasons you currently play it have it progressive.
Continued revenue for the manufacturer plus new stuff for the owner to keep it fresh. If course releasing then something like 0.64 is a no-no.
Yeah yeah, we get it you work in software Everyone that works in software brings up this point here. People have had to wait literal years to get the code "done" on a game, Stern doen;t have the manpower to be working on extra shit the entire time that is happening.
Quoted from T3quila:Conceded, but that is a problem in management.
Exactly, and that management isn't changing anytime soon. None of the companies seem to be heading this way yet...it's still evolving as to whom the consumer really is in your model.
Quoted from f3honda4me:Because if Stern just pushes out games and never finishes them, they lose future business as customers don't want to be stuck with ultimately incomplete games.
Stern doesn't make machines with incomplete code, Lonnie does
Quoted from f3honda4me:But most of their games get finished at some point.
He's got a fair point though.
Machines have always come incomplete since computers entered the picture. Unless you're an LE buyer, no one is making you buy the machine at launch. Some are done pretty quickly and some take forever...people just can't stop themselves from getting it day 1.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:... ”clamoring.” ....
Thanks, that makes more sense. It was the 'or' that did me in.
Do you mind if I print this out and frame it in my basement?
Quoted from zimvsdib:Count the number of panel vans and you will get a surprise!!! -no joke
It isn't that many....in comparison with Eddies
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Darscot's been giving us all terrible advice about the software industry for years. Remember when he claimed that hiring more people wouldn't help Stern produce more code updates?
Did you know he works for a major gaming company in software? Oh you've already been told 10,000 fucking times? Insufferable dealing with people that have zero awareness to their surroundings. Read the room dude.
Quoted from Zablon:..otherwise people would be throwing it in the puke thread.
Way late on that one
Quoted from Dr-pin:Good part:
If you love the beatles pin, how wouldn´t pay a 100$ to have 10 additional songs and game modes?
The cheapest beatles was like 7k+ and you got 5-6 songs.... You think for $100 more you're going to 10 songs and modes?
It seems the beat part aboot DLC are the unrealistic dreaming that comes with it.
Quoted from iluvak9:Beatles has 8 songs. 5 song modes shown above flippers plus Can’t Buy Me Love, Help and Taxman.
Thanks.
The good news is then 10 more songs and modes should only cost like $80!
Quoted from DBLM:This thread has devolved into a shit show. Everybody is just babbling random junk ...
So pretty much the norm?
Quoted from pinmister:(an idiom used to accuse the person of being guilty of the very thing they are pointing out.)
Douche is a term used for somone that has to explain something that every single person already knows the definition of.
Quoted from Who-Dey:Seriously? I always thought...
Well I don't think anyone has ever accused you of knowing too much so we'll let it slide.
Remember , it's never too later to get your GED.
Quoted from wesman:Though most male characters on that show seem to be fodder. They fall into the dead, dumb dumb foil, or villain category all too often. Female characters seem written a bit more teflon, fairly dominant, and lacking less flaws.
FFS.
Quoted from Tsskinne:One way gate under demogorgon broke on 3rd game.
So just like JP2
Quoted from Shapiru:Yes it does. And less who cuck to political correctness like you.
Whom the fuck is this dipshit?
Quoted from Guinnesstime:It's an elective in my kid's MIDDLE school.
Ha!
Quoted from Darscot:I have no idea why you care and are....
Well Aurich doesn't come around to bore us all to death with this type of shit, luckily there's always someone ready to step up.
Quoted from Frax:It always amazes me how people on here hate me so damn much with people like this around. I never even remotely approach that level of asshattery.
There isn't a cap or finite amount of hate
Quoted from kpg:This is the worst new Stern release thread in the history of Pinside.
Amazing but true.
Quoted from iceman44:LOL, how quickly you forget GB Kpg.
That was an all time great thread & classic shitstorm reveal video. I miss those days.
