Quoted from pinmister:

I am digging the Premium art the best and wondering what powder color would look good? Candy Red, Iced Candy Blue or maybe chrome?[quoted image][quoted image]

Iced Candy Blue - seems like it would really tie in with the cabinet art well. The cherry red for the pro model.

Brooklyn has two, sunshine laundromat and Jackbar. Enjoy.

I was just at sunshine this last Saturday into Sunday - they did not have stranger things in rotation then... guess I just missed it.

Played Stranger Things tonight at Stonehedge in Akron. I had a lot of fun playing it... but that doesn't say much, I love almost every pinball machine I've ever touched.

The ramps were fun to loop. That center can be a sdtm pain at times if you hit those drops just right. My wife and I hit the introitus... er mouth of the va... er demotoy exactly zero times. We watched 6 other people play through, zero hits. Thankfully, the toy acts as a bash target when you don't get the money shot. That pop hole (whatever it is called on the left of the playfield) basically does nothing - I wish it would direct the ball towards a target. No multiball lock post issue.

What really stuck out is the dimple gate issue. The playfield is basically a pubescent teenage kid with a pizza face. I've attached some pictures. The dimples/craters are really easy to see, difficult to pick up with the camera through the glass. It was distracting and I am unsure how playing this game for thousands of plays will "even it all out." It looks bad for how expensive the machine is. My RFM and TFTC don't have this problem. I looked at JP and saw this issue as well. Was also present on Elvira and to a lesser extent on Willy Wonka. Didn't notice it on others like AFMr, MBr.

Overall it is a fun pin... but unless you love NST, it seems like an easy pass for a home machine.

Holy crap I want the AFMr LE and the MBr LE! The interactive topper on AFMr was a riot.

Edit: I will say the game plays faster than others and there are plenty of airballs each game, so maybe the dimples are to be expected with how frequently these ball bearings are slamming into the playfield.

Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

If I have to read about one more dumb newb freaking out over dimples I'm going to snap.

I am a physician... I'd wager my intellect is far beyond the realm of "dumb." Probably not as mighty as your mental prowess, of course. Something as trivial as discussing characteristics of modern playfields should not bother someone with a stable mood and congruent affect.

Hyperbole aside, nobody is freaking out. If your attention spanned the entire post you would see I wrote that this is probably normal for the speed of the game along with the number of airballs. To all that were enjoying Stonehedge in Akron tonight, the craters were very noticeable.

I saw other people here on Pinside posting pictures of the golfballesque playfield and thought it would be good for posterity's sake to add to the collection.

Pinside would be a much better place without divisiveness and personal attacks.

Quoted from dsmoke1986:

Bro, it's just mountain of a mole hill type stuff...There are dimples on this game; do I care when I'm pressing play 30 times a day??? Hell no!! I haven't had this much fun with a pin in a long time; it's a thrill ride.
And bringing occupation into this, is totally unnecessary...Shall we compare income when discussing these matters as well???
If you have a problem with the dimples; don't buy the pin!! Don't support Stern!!! While you are at it, write Gary Stern personally to discuss the matter. Because besides that; they will continue to sell a ton of pins to operators and home buyers.

A pejorative was slung my way, I feel it within my right to bring up occupation as a social proof, even if a fine display of pedantry on my part (but it is done with purpose). Further, using an insult that has belittled those with an inability to produce speech due to disability and conflating the term for lack of intelligence is offensive. I have a large patient population that, without modern surgical and biomedical technological advances, would fall into the "dumb" category. No less offensive than using the outmoded and disparaging term of retard for those with an intellectual disability.

I will reiterate the final point of my initial post: this could be normal for this playfield given the characteristics that make it uniquely fun to play. The game plays fast and it seems to have more opportunities to create airballs than other tables.
After all, there is an 80gm ball bearing being launched into the air slamming down on a piece of 13.5mm plywood.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Is SOMETHING there? Yeah. Is it what most would call visible and working? No. Especially on the ramps, ramp standup and drop targets.
I'm very surprised Stern didn't put a tent over this to control the lighting A LITTLE. Very. Surprised. If I was Brian Eddy, I'd be pissed and heading over to Home Depot or Lowes to buy a 10x10 black canopy and slip the union guys some dough to set it up ASAP to give this showing at least a CHANCE of a positive impression.
[quoted image]

Knowing how bright CES is, it is a very good sign that you can appreciate anything that is projected. I am willing to bet that with "normal" room lighting the premium/LE will be nothing short of amazing. This projector mapping will be a game changer like pin2k should have been.
