Guys......ignore the rich troll.
Seeing all the downvotes and the "ignored user", I literally guessed who it was knowing his MO from when I first called him out.
Some people don't ever change.

I am very much considering:
1. Selling Scared Stiff or....
2. Selling TFLE and GoTPro
To purchase this game.
Please, Stern, please please please show me you have 100% fixed your PF issues.
I'll wait a solid 6 months to a year and let Pinsiders find out for me.
All that being said, man, this one looks good. Glad to see they got this theme while it's still relatively hot and NST is still relevant.
My logic will stay ahead of my emotions until I know the PF issues are a past issue. Then, I'll pick option #1 or #2 to bring this home. Looks fantastic!
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:Nobody concerned with the clearcoat issues? I thought there was still some problematic playfields popping up.
Also, aren’t recent customers with bad playfields having to fight to get an unpopulated playfield? Other customers report being ghosted with regards to their playfield warranty requests?
I posted about it less than an hour ago:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stern-stranger-things/page/28#post-5369197
Quoted from PoMC:Looking forward to the reveal and seeing gameplay for sure. Not interested in buying though because I've never seen the show. I've read enough about the show to know it's not for me....I don't enjoy kid shows at all.
With that mindset, you must hate:
The Goonies
All 8 or 9 Harry Potter movies
First 2 Home Alone movies
Quoted from Dkjimbo:So what is the fallout from the leak of that video? Clearly Stern wasn’t happy about the leak and requested it get shut down on YouTube (which it has). How did the actual release video get leaked to begin with? Yes we all know Chris posted it first but how did he get his hands on it? That wasn’t the usual shitty grainy cell phone captures from the webinar it was the legit teaser video. How much hell broke loose at stern marketing department?
I'd highly suspect this was orchestrated intentionally. That or someone somewhere on the inside is getting away with this with nearly EVERY game that has come out since GB.
....
Please Stern, please prove your PF issues are over. I really want one of these, but not at the cost of watching my PF fall apart like I am in the Upside Down or something : (.
Quoted from HarrieD:Video is down on youtube due to copyrights. Looking forward to the official release.
Good thing I d/l'ed the video before Stern had it pulled....there are still videos up if you know where to look on YT. Besides....they'll make their "oooo ahhhh" official reveal prolly in the next couple of days....
Quoted from 2Kaulitz:I think we all just need to wait until we see the game....
We don't take too kindly to logic round these parts here, boy
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Is a game still considered HUO if it's been in a car with a dog?!
Not including posts where games are being picked up or set up, this is EASILY the best post of the day.
I actually LOL'd.
Quoted from kpg:Yeah, but why should anyone need to put a $300 projector upgrade in their $7900-$9K pinball machine that is already thousands of dollars more expensive then the Pro/Non Projector machine? That sucks.
See below...
Quoted from OnTheSnap:....this will be a great mod to do once we figure out what fits. Prob we can buy any_ pico, de-case it, and retrofit the machine.
This community saves Stern even more money by doing the work for them.
Quoted from fisherdaman:Quick observation: ...but when they finally try something new everyone pulls out the microscopes and analyze the game before anyone can even play it....
We don't have a choice. We can already see ramp dimples and PF craters with our naked eyes.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Since I wasn’t around when Star Trek LE came out, what does it have that sets itself apart from the more recent LE offerings?
http://pinballstore.tripod.com/star-trek-features.html
Now you get, what, a piece of paper saying how special your game is with some signatures that dont matter.
And for $5K more, you get a finger tip size piece of couch.
Only in this hobby.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Haha. Well I went LE simply because I like the powder coat and art the best, So I guess ignorance is bliss.
The nice surprises were the real mirrored Backglass, updated sound system with amplifier (spike 2 sound is finally good sound for a stock pinball machine), and the anti-glare glass. Shaker too I think.
Now I need to find a spot in the basement where this think isn’t covered by other games!
I think LEs are landing next weekend.
That's fair. I did forget about the back glass. Wasmt there a time all games came with a shaker from them? I genuinely dont remember.
Too bad Lyman is not coding this game. His mere reveal here in this thread would be considered a "key post" ; ).
Quoted from delt31:This really is the beginning of DLC. Already installed by being part of the pf already. Now you're essentially unlocking by buying this kit.
Complete bullshit. Anyone describing this as an add on like a shooter rod is already lost. This is literally part of the code/gameplay and clearly should have been included as prem/le.
I'm starting to really get sick of Stern's abuse along with the Stern army apologists who support this garbage.
Yes...but.....TMNT!!!!!
You'll forgive as soon as it is revealed. And you'll like it too.
Truly some frog slowly boiled in a pan stuff by Stern.
Quoted from delt31:Here's what's important. Calling out Stern for the bad and the good. Currently.... there is a lot of bad with this cash grab. That should be called out along with the shills who defend it. If/when tmnt comes out - if it's loaded AND doesn't have BS DLC than I will be there to support it. No doubt about it.
It's not about some fanboy bullshit. It's about what is right and what is wrong period and calling these companies out when they pull this but also supporting them when it's deserved.
Stern's been doing wrong/cost-cutting moves for a long time. This was more overt towards customer loyalty.
Failing decals, chipping/milky inserts, thinner gauge wiring, thinner metal hardware, re-routing of switches to backboxes, node boards that cost $$$ to replace, moon-cratering playfields, etc - that's all taking advantage of your customer base - but it didn't get anywhere near as much attention because the "whole game was there".
Not this time though. This time, they gave the customer base a half-baked product, and they got called out.
I can't imagine having to buy the strobe kit for AFM to get to experience Strobe MB in its entirety. That would just... woo whee.
I couldn't help but chuckle at what someone about 10 pages back said (to paraphrase): TMNT comes out and you get one turtle - pay for the other three.
And the community will. Gotta have that "ooo shiney". For every Batman SLE that makes everyone swear off Stern comes an Iron Maiden and they pull people right back in. For every Munsters, a JP2 shows up and all is forgiven. Stranger Things debacle hits, and once TMNT drops: "All is forgiven - turtle power, dude! Cowabunga!!!!!!"
I think once they get to the point that you get one main flipper and you have to pay $500 for the other flipper, then this community might finally start realizing the ride they've been getting taken on.
Quoted from iceman44:Wrong as usual, Stern has been doing upgrading since IMDN where i felt the quality dipped to bad levels, get your facts straight!
JP and Elvira, the past two Sterns, yeah i know its tough for you to keep up NPO because they keep pumping out fantastic pins, have none of the main issues you describe. They have excellent PF quality, reinforced cabs and GREAT GAMES.
The people have spoken with their wallets leading to a record year of sales for Stern. Just the FACTS, drop the mic and game over. LOL
There will ALWAYS be malcontent, whiners and complainers never happy with anything. EVERY pinball manufacturer deserves some kind of medal of honor for having to put up with some of you.
Bottom line, pinball is thriving right now for many reasons, and that's a great thing.
You have your opinion, and I have mine : ).
In the end, I voted with my wallet regarding Stern (nothing since GoT Pro).
I sure am looking forward to my Shadow coming in a couple weeks with all features at under $6000 (Pro price) ; ).
Pinball is thriving, and for those with bottomless wallets, that's awesome. What was $4200 in 2012 is now almost $6000 in 2020. YES!!! *pumps fist*
