I've been out of the loop due to, uhh, other game announcements. But is ST actually confirmed (or "confirmed" in any kind of way past speculation), and is Brian Eddy gonna be on it? Really excited for this one. If there really is a webinar tomorrow it looks like I'm tuning back in at the right time.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Brian Eddy
Lonnie
Rest of the details are unknown. Should be on location by Xmas eve.

Holy shit, okay. Now I'm pumped

Quoted from TheLaw:

Excited to see Eddy....Lonnie not so much

I'm a big fan of Star Trek + Tron and no problems with Guardian's code (though I haven't played it too much). Any kind of glaring flaws across his games? I don't have any significant time on most of his stuff, looking at the list now.

#323 4 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Takes a long time to get the code done, and I don't think it's very interesting; Kiss being a good example. Xmen, avengers...
Tron had Lyman on it & ST had Dwight...did they both get put on this projects to finish them?
Anyway, Lyman takes along time to get finished but you know it's going to be top notch.

Thanks for the breakdown. Maybe there's a reason I haven't spent much time on many of his other games.

Quoted from Coz:

What does a shake weight have to do with anything???

Don't wanna get too presumptuous here but I think it's supposed to represent him jerking off, cause if that's all true this is shaping up to be a killer game.

idk if I trust anything from Kaneda but FWIW (hadn't seen this posted or mentioned, sorry if I missed it)

Quoted from J85M:

Sounds cool, where did this info come from? Can it be trusted? Thanks for posting either way. Backboard sounds cool but would love to see some magnets on the playfield too.

This is Pinside, there are no sources. Now Kaneda is copy/pasting this comment on his FB, where it will be read + repeated as further fact. It's turtles all the way down.

#583 4 years ago
Quoted from aingide:

I think it's a big part of the game. Lots of elements on the playfield are basically white so the projected images pop...when the game is off it looks weird.
Seems like they went all in on the concept, so hopefully it's great!

You've seen the game powered on + off?

#815 4 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

I know what the description is... my comment was more about 'net gain'.
If its anything more than a light stencil and effective at more than one canvas... I'll be impressed.

At this point it appears aingide has seen the game in action, everything he posted yesterday was corroborated by TWIP's post today. If he says projected hallways on the center toy and lockers on the drops to correspond with game modes, it seems that's what it is. VERY interested in seeing this thing in action, what a couple of exciting weeks to be following pinball.

Quoted from J85M:

For a lot of people Elwins managed it 2 for 2, so it’s certainly possible.

And Eddy's 3 for 3 on his designs (IMO). I'm a little nervous about the projector but can't wait to see this one.

Quoted from cooked71:

Wording from both "leaks" sounds like the same source.

Good point, hopefully we get more info soon. Having fun speculating in the meantime though.

Quoted from gliebig:

Needs more vans.

The pro has 5 on the playfield and 4 on each side of the cab for a total of 13, making the van by far the most prominent enemy on the art. Pretty funny.

What's odd is it looks like the Pro has Hopper's Blazer on the right side of the head... if they had the rights to the K5 why wouldn't they replace one of the playfield-vans with it? Good looking game to me either way but I want more Blazer + Pinto, and less vans

Quoted from PinMonk:

It's just pressure fit. This is a Bad DesignTM. The length of the post acts as a lever, and using a pressure fit one instead of one with a side screw or push-through post means it will act like a lever and keep working itself out.

There's no set screw? Surprised no one is discussing this, I'm shocked Stern sent a game out the door with a 6" post and nothing securing it in place.

#3775 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

I didn't even know they MADE a version without a pressure spring thing through them until Houdini arrived as a pressure fit up-post only.

Hahaha I just can't believe there's nothing to secure it at all, I'm not sure what the attachment point looks like but seems like the kind of thing a single tapped hole + set screw could've completely resolved. This will just get worse and worse over time, every time it gets worked loose it'll fit a bit less tight. Glad you pointed it out, this is going to be an immediate + recurring issue for operators I would think (until they figure out their own solution).

Quoted from DNO:

The one on my machine looked like it was pressure fit, then they kind of crimp the metal part, there was a small indentation on both sides where it would squeeze the plastic post. That is where I placed my punch and hammered. It just seems whoever made that part didn’t quite squeeze the metal enough.
It’s been fine since.

Thanks for the explanation + pic, hadn't seen one of these before. Looks easy enough to fix.

Quoted from cooked71:

Crap that looks bad. So looks it just doesn’t translate well on video hence the delay. Have to be seen in person at distributors or show.

Poor choice on Stern's part to show it off here for the first time. Really excited to see one in person though.
