Quoted from flynnibus:One week of play...[quoted image]
My ACNC doesn’t look like that...and it’s 7 weeks old almost 500 plays. I own a Met and SW...love them both, but the dimpling is definitely different. Clear, wood, whatever...but there is a difference. Not defending or putting anyone down, but just noticing a difference. All the trolls...troll. But there is a difference. Just FYI.
Quoted from Rockytop:Agreed. We'll have to wait and see it with our eyes.
Agreed. Now, with all those at CES...some have got to be pinsiders, and someone has seen it in person. Enlighten us! Tell us the projector is great and looks nothing like the vid/pics.
Quoted from cooked71:At the end of the day Stern hasn’t really promised anything about the projector. I’m assuming the best it’s going to look is as per the original “leaked” video that was clearly a Stern production aimed at showing the projector in its best light (see what I did there!?).
If you’re happy with what’s in that original video you’ll be happy with the game in real life (when played in a dark environment). If not, don’t buy it. Certainly don’t buy it assuming it’s going to look better than that video or assuming you’ll be able to upgrade the projector.
Interesting view, considering, if this were implemented right, would be a huge leap in Pinball tech. But, you’re right, Stern hasn’t promised anything...but maybe they should.
The projection mapping could be a great addition to pinball! I expect to see it more and more implemented, from all manufacturers. This is Sterns stamp. They will either set the bar, or just add the idea...and be left behind. Will Stern go all in, or want a cost grab? This could be revolutionary, but they have to go all in and not try to milk the money yet. Remember. The first generation of anything is the bar...it is the beginning, unless it is done with no holds barred.
Quoted from Zablon:Rather than projection mapping I think the better alternative would be the new advances in screens. Not cheap enough at the moment, but imagine everything having translucent programmable lcd screens on them (of course with some sort of protection).
With the advancement of the screens...you may be right. VR, or augmented VR is next.
