LOL. That’s a good one.

Quoted from dnapac:With the FOMO behind Rick and Morty, I think Stern rushed the release of Stranger Things...feeling their dominance was threatened. This may have been a huge misstep.
There would be no reason for that. Its pre-order slots "sold out" already, so they're not competing. Plus, they're SO much bigger than Spooky it's not close.
Quoted from PinMonk:Beatles is the laziest money-grab Stern has done recently. I was SHOCKED at all the panning B/W STILLS used for their concert crowds on-screen when much more compelling actual live-action footage is available. Using crappy stills just came across as cheap, which NO version of Beatles pinball pricing was. They were all massively over priced and should have had a deluxe presentation to match the price. Indefensible. A huge "meh" - and the still-falling prices on the secondary market reflect that.
Money grab? Defintely. Lazy? Nope. It’s a great pin.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Money grab? Defintely. Lazy? Nope. It’s a great pin.
The game blows. Worst Stern since Striker Extreme. Wrong game, wrong Beatles era. Best license of all time...wasted.
Played Stranger Things last night. Not much to say here. I have no desire to play it again. Code really can’t help much with this one guys. Sorry. It’s just not fun.
Quoted from PinMonk:The DA didn't try the sexual assault case against his relatives since it happened almost 30 years ago and it would be too hard to prove. So, they (I think it was two DAs since it was in separate counties, not sure) put a plea deal together for both cases (the child porn possession and the sexual assault) and he got a tremendously short sentence, less time served, plus probation and registration as a sex offender. I, too, was really shocked at the SUPER light sentence, given the offenses.
So I guess he will be working for Stern again soon.
Quoted from Skyemont:Played Stranger Things last night. Not much to say here. I have no desire to play it again. Code really can’t help much with this one guys. Sorry. It’s just not fun.
Are you a fan of the show? I think it’s pretty solid so far for this early in the game. Love the start of telekinesis multiball and the music and sounds are great. Just need some more callouts added. There’s tons in the code. Just need them added. Can’t wait to see how this develops.
Quoted from zr11990:So I guess he will be working for Stern again soon.
Yeah, nah...Stern isn’t going to rehire a pedophile.

This was my takeaway too. I got to play one and the layout was great. Didn’t have problems hitting demigorgen so makes me think this is a mech adjustment issue somehow? I think as code progresses this game is going to be better and better. Chance to be something really special.
Sorry but I look at this game and have to ask, does it really take a professional pinball designer with decades of experience in this field to design a game like this? Please stop with the AFM and MM comparisons too. I love the theme but this game is a complete letdown. I don't really care what the code turns out to be. And that Demogorgon toy, WTF? …is that really the best they could do? Looks like a prop from a proctology conference. Just another half baked, effortless and low value Stern with a great theme totally wasted.

Yeah I guess we are way too easy to please. Haha
Quoted from pipes:Sorry but I look at this game and have to ask, does it really take a professional pinball designer with decades of experience in this field to design a game like this?
You have to realize this game was designed as a Prem/LE first. That’s the real game. We should really only judge his creativity and design based on that version.
Pro is just a Stranger Things poster for people to put quarters in at a bar.

Yes I love the show. Stern just didn’t capture the show in this pin. It just seems shallow to me. The magnet ball lock and projector are not going to be enough to save this one. Stern needs to slow down to 2 pins a year. Quantity over Quality has been Sterns way! They need to reverse this. 4 pins a year. Who cares if 3 out if 4 suck. Having 2 quality pins a year will also help with coding issues. Stern you can do it. Just slow down.
Quoted from Skyemont:Yes I love the show. Stern just didn’t capture the show in this pin.
It’s been a week. Check back in like 6 months. And after Cleland gets a hold of it. You might be surprised.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Money grab? Defintely. Lazy? Nope. It’s a great pin.
How else do you explain slowly panning black and white still photos of events where there exist actual video footage that would be much more dynamic? It was cheap and lazy, take your pick which. I could not believe that was the direction they went with Beatles when they have a TON of material to choose from. By any definition, it's far less than it should have been, at the very least, or a lazy money grab at worst. The resale value is the final arbiter and prices are still falling, which says it all.
Quoted from Rarehero:Pro is just a Stranger Things poster for people to put quarters in at a bar.
That's a good way of looking at it for sure.
Quoted from zr11990:So I guess he will be working for Stern again soon.
I do not see that happening, at least not as a marquee name. Some kind of advisory capacity behind the scenes for some pin company? Maybe. But his topline career is done. NO ONE is going to admit Trudeau's helping them.

Heard that a lot about TWD for a long time before Lyman did a huge update and completely changed the way the game plays, making it one of the best pins Stern has in the modern era. I hate the horror/zombie genre, and I still love TWD pin.
Will that happen with Lonnie's work here? Maybe, maybe not. It basically reinforces the "wait 12-18 months and check back" purchase advice.
Quoted from kermit24:Play Game of Thrones and Star Wars. Not shallow. George Gomez told him to make Munsters shallow, which was a mistake. Dwight mentioned this direction in interviews. Back to the Lonnie show...
Please post this interview link.
Quoted from beergut666:Like I stated in an earlier post, through 40 games and literally hundreds of shots at it, a friend and I yesterday had 5 shots actually go in the mouth. A success rate hovering around 1%-2%. On one ball alone we counted 17 unsuccessful shots in a row by me, all from a trap on either flipper. Two skilled players, playing at a location that sets up and maintains games in a meticulous manner that would make most people jealous. I'm not saying all games are like this, but it is my only experience so far, so that is all I can attest to.
Assuming this was tilt... Same for me... No one, including very skilled players, could make the shot at any reliable %.
As such this isn't a play better or aim better thing. It is a design or setup flaw (which goes back to design since many routed games may omit proper setup).
Quoted from underlord:Dwight Sullivan does quite a bit of shallow coding.
Since you‘re not new, I suppose you‘re so old that your memory can‘t remember anything more then one year back...

So off, into the RAZA Ramp thread with it.
I‘d ASSUME, with that large ass ramp, that you‘re not SUPPOSED to hit bullseye every time.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:I‘d ASSUME, with that large ass ramp, that you‘re not SUPPOSED to hit bullseye every time.
Absolutely true. However, if you’re trapped up, line it up, and are dead center the ball travels too high, how are you supposed to adjust for that as a player except hope for a lucky half flip that is just the right speed to fall in?

How can Stern make a bash toy that you can't bash?
Wonder if they may make adjustments before sending anymore out?

Yes - George told him to make a simpler game.

EDIT: Their website entry for that has an index, at least (without times):

Fortunately, he talks about the Gomez trap starting right upfront at 02:45.
I got the game 2 days ago. I avg 150-200 mill a game. Y’all are too funny. Game shoots super smooth. Art is beautiful. I have 0 issues hitting the demo. It isn’t a ez gimme. But if you trap up I hit it within 3 shots 95% of the time.
Ramps are hella smooth, the repeating inner loop is hella fun, currently at 7 loops in a row. Y’all need to chill. Cleland is gonna add the 80’s music and the code needs to mature and some scoring balancing and adjustments need to be done. It just got released so just breathe.
Just played the pro. Detailed review when I get back but I'll just say there are a lot of trolls around here.
Game is solid.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:https://pinside.com/pinball/community/pinsiders/jimwe5t/ratings/comments
Your ratings are a joke. You’re entitled to your opinion, but your ratings suggest you have an agenda and want to prove a point, rather than properly rate these classic games.
Ahahaha. That’s funny. Dude can’t win an argument so he went and spammed bad ratings. Feel better now jimwe5t ?

I guess if we're just labelling everyone we don't agree with in this manner, isn't every single thread on Pinside just a collection of shills and trolls then?
Quoted from pipes:I guess if we're just labelling everyone we don't agree with in this manner, isn't every single thread on Pinside just a collection of shills and trolls then?
Exactly. Shills and Trolls. Like Yin and Yang. Perfect harmony.

No. If someone goes ape on a game they’ve never played and goes on and on about it, that’s dumb. If you don’t like it, fine. Make you take, then cya later. Why stick around to beat the drum for days on end?
It’s much more fun to be in a thread about a game talking with people that like the game.
Quoted from chuckwurt:It’s much more fun to be in a thread about a game talking with people that like the game.
Isn't that what the club threads are for? Endless orgies of positive thoughts.
I thought this thread welcomed all honest opinions.

It does. But why stay and continue to hate on a game? Is that fun?
Why not spend that time helping someone in a tech thread or gushing about the games you do like in their threads?
Quoted from chuckwurt:Absolutely true. However, if you’re trapped up, line it up, and are dead center the ball travels too high, how are you supposed to adjust for that as a player except hope for a lucky half flip that is just the right speed to fall in?
Ok, yeah.
Maybe lessen flipper power while the game is still new but it'll even out eventually.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Ok, yeah.

I had that idea too. Unfortunately the flipper power isn’t a setting currently. Bummer.
Quoted from chuckwurt:I had that idea too. Unfortunately the flipper power isn’t a setting currently. Bummer.
Surely they have, or will come up with, a way to adjust the ramp or sculpt. Got to be some way to raise the sculpt or change the angle of the ramp.
Quoted from chuckwurt:I had that idea too. Unfortunately the flipper power isn’t a setting currently. Bummer.
Uh,...
I won't judge anything in the game yet, but imho they really shouldn't have released it that early.
Quoted from chuckwurt:I had that idea too. Unfortunately the flipper power isn’t a setting currently. Bummer.
You could sand the playfield, then the ball is slowlier, must be the same effect like the power setting. When you do this you also have a thinner clearcoat and no problems with chipping and things like that.
Do it!
Quoted from cooked71:Surely they have, or will come up with, a way to adjust the ramp or sculpt. Got to be some way to raise the sculpt or change the angle of the ramp.
So from what I hear, raising the toy is out due to affecting the switch that should register when you bash it.
Ramp doesn’t seem adjustable at all.
So maybe the two screws that hold the toy to bracket that are offset by rubber washers is the key to adjustment. Just really hard to get to anything since there’s so much back there.
Quoted from Metengo:You could sand the playfield, then the ball is slowlier, must be the same effect like the power setting. When you do this you also have a thinner clearcoat and no problems with chipping and things like that.

I'd set the game up less steep first, so the ball will shoot at another angle.
