Maybe for a discount, Stern can do ads on the projector like amazon does with the Kindle.

“Kill the Demi-dog... and drink Pepsi!”

#1952 4 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Can I put you down for the purple edition Law? You seem awful excited for this one

That purple looks like American Chopper blew a load on it.

I'd never buy an LE unless it was cheap later or something. Premium.....maybe.

#1953 4 years ago
Quoted from whitey:

With the projector I would think you can ad images for years as well as code

If I was Stern I'd use it for putting ads up before you can start a game and in game. Lots of ads for bifocals, hearing aids, hemorrhoid cream, and viagra. Why not milk those ad dollars?? Oh and D.A.R.E announcements.

Quoted from Iwasthebruce:

I guess that's fair...personal preference, I wouldn't even look twice at a Stern Pro anything. It seems they just make a stripped down version each time....like if you could still buy a car without A/C or power steering.

Its all the fan layout loving old dudes with disposable income. Who else is buying all these MMR and AFMR? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

People keep eating these shit fan layout games up. Not sure why. Ive played that game before, just with a different theme and rules.

Honestly this game looks like a lot of chipping wood like Avengers with all the same inserts on each shot.

Ill still throw a quarter in this unlike I would ever do with Elvira, yet another fan layout for the masses. Slurp it up dummies.

#1955 4 years ago

Might have already been mentioned but hey! No more ugly yellow instruction cards, cool black ones.

Pinball 2000 the giant head contained the CRT but also acted as a way to block/control light.

I think this might have issues - obviously laser shows work but that's using units far larger than what would fit in an apron and consuming massive amounts of energy.

It's still a very cool idea, not even the screen really but moreso being able to "label" targets.

I know everyone hates on the fan layout, but realistically, that's about the extent of making the most out of a pf. There's only so many angles you can use for flow and you consider how many games have been made throughout history, and then add that they are trying to basically make them as cheap as possible...it doesn't leave much room for anything else. I have some ideas for PF layouts I haven't seen before, but in the end, to get the most shots possible, it STILL works out to being a fan layout..because that's just the geometry of pinball.

Waiting to see what high power mod projectors people put in these.

Yeah that was sort of my worry aboot this. I don't hate fans, but if you're coming back to remake AFM/MM with the exact same schtik it's boring.
We'll wait and see if there's enough extra "new" rules to freshen up some of the old routine.

Crazy, right?

AFM is only one of the best games of all time, so who wants something modeled after that? Idiots. And then they go and mix it together with a well-implemented, modern and beloved theme? What a bunch of morons!

Nailed it! But a little innovation wouldn't kill them, they're already saving all that money on cheap playfield materials and unfinished programming! Lol...could've at least put the projector in all 3 versions since its the biggest innovation.

Dare I mention the Danesi Lock 2.0 in this thread? New toy/mechanism that uses all existing tech...cheap and new and different!

Just the geometry of pinball? Ridiculous.

Keith’s JP2 design is a perfect example of interesting shots & flow. Takes creativity...has nothing to do with cost.

Having not played a JP2 yet, I can't speak to it, but uh...that's still a fan layout, even if it is prettied up.

It sort of sets the tone becasue he just seems confused in anything he does. Oh and he really doens't like plastic ramps.

I mean I can draw you a map if you need, but I think you can figure it out. It's plastered all over the internet.

#1976 4 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

This time around it is quite a different style of 'leak' as this seems very intentional.

Let me take these one by one here lots to unpack. No not that different. Dude China is hacking our companies everyday trying to steal secrets. We can say oh who would do that to pinball... ahh probably some doing it just for fun because they can. Its not that hard to hack into anything. If you know the person in Sterns marketing dept, you know they'd have the video, getting into their computer isn't hard. It really is just a process of sending spam emails and getting him to bite on one of them and you're in. Its not that hard trust me.

Quoted from Yelobird:

Come on DrFUD you can’t seriously believe what your saying right? Your examples are literally comical. Jennifer L nudes? Corporate hacks?? They were not Selling a product completely a different and illegal story. If Kman releases nude pics of Gary (just threw up in my mouth) or his bank statement I’ll buy your made up theory but this was a marketing play start to finish. Not saying a bad one just not a surprise. He miraculously leaks every new game not buying it. They give the “bad boy” of the industry the bait with the guarantee he gets massive following and growth and in return the product seller gets Everyone talking about them and this product assuming a crazy hack conspiracy. Lol. in my opinion this viral strategy is rather genius as they can deny everything while getting Free Pre-sale market interest/evaluation Prior to publishing a price point

Dude I love you but seriously you can't believe anything you said do you? You're telling me Stern would release information to Kaneda a guy they totally despise? And you think they did it to help him build his following, in other words they're helping someone they hope would fall off the planet. Seriously you really believe that? NO WAY IN HELL! I heard from a distributor that Stern was fuming and someone could end up getting fired, but none of that is true because they want to help build up Kaneda following a person they can't control, who bashes them constantly. LOL That is indeed the funniest thing I've heard all year.

Quoted from fisherdaman:

Wait... soooo you are telling me that there are nudes of Jennifer Lawrence up on the internet? Excuse me while I disappear for a little bit

Yes Full Blown every angle every basically just everything. Someone hacked into her PHONE and swiped those pics. I'm sure the marketing people from Stern had that video on their phone. With all your stuff going on the cloud now its not hard to get into someones phone and snag it.

Bottom line someone who KNOWS the marketing people got into their phone or computer with ease downloaded it and gave it to kaneda because... they didn't want to be the ones who released the video. I'm betting it will happen again.

I have played two games. I like it a lot. Shoots familiar which isn’t a bad thing sometimes. Left orbit to right ramp return is cool. Like Deadpool Premium. The center drops are dangerous but not too crazy. The demogorgon modes are fun. Lots of video assets.

#1983 4 years ago

The start of telekinesis multiball is amazing.

Only seen a few modes but scenes from the movie accompany all of them. Early code though.

Thank you for that. Based on the released videos I was starting to worry Scores/Animations would be up top and clips would be on the projected image only. That would force me to get a Premium. I like the Premium art a lot more though too

I'm not sure what translite looks worse, GOT Pro or Stranger Things Pro? Hoping it looks better in person. I can't see the pro translite aging well and it's only going to look more odd with the actors getting older.
