Quoted from westofrome:

Same as Star Wars, has a sling instead of the third pop to save space. Don’t think we’ll see single lower pops as long as Gary’s around.

Nothing would compliment a classic Brian Eddy fan layout like a pop bumper right above a flipper blocking 2 of the shots.

#1802 4 years ago

So for something like this projector to work there are two things that are critical to be set and maintained throughout usage.

Focus and Orientation/Aim

A pinball machine gets jostled around constantly during play, so much vibration. Then you have routine maintenance...playfield going up and down, etc. I am sure they put some thought to this but I am really curious how this will hold up over time. To get this to work on so many different surfaces, some extremely small (the tiny standups for example), they need to really ensure that this thing cannot lose its perfect position or focus...

If its off even by a hair the entire effect could be compromised.

HARD PASS ON THE FAN. JP looking like the best game in a while for Stern. Even without full assets.

haha,...I guess we'll find out soon enough...I couldn't make out one in the video, so I bet you're right.

I guess we'll find out tonight how it all comes together, but it seems a little strange if you knock down the drops, then just shoot it up in there to a saucer...that seems really easy. If you have to do that multiple times to qualify the battle then it just seems slow or clunky to have it go in there to dribble back out again and again.

Maybe the shot under demogorgan passes through to the inner orbit and is stopped with a post or diverter when the battle happens...that would work.

Quoted from NeilMcRae:

the LE looks stunning
[quoted image]

That does look great...Can't decide between Pro and Prem...Could get Pro immediately.

What do you guys think? Playfields look near identical; I guess it's tough to speculate until you can play them both.

You’re a good guesser! Haha

#1807 4 years ago

Got to hand it to Stern.

Today is release day and someone already has one in their home.

No one else can produce like they do.

Pro doesn't even have the rear magnetic ball lock?? Cheap bastards.

That was my first impression. Jeesh. Disappointing.

Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

So buy a premium?

#1811 4 years ago

I really like this layout of the playfield. I definitely see myself putting a lot of time into these modes. Could be my first (and only) NIB/Machine...

#1812 4 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

So buy a premium?

On the fence. Shit tspp has more features than the premium.

#1813 4 years ago

I am interested in what the gameplay is like after watching the pro video. There is some deep code potential for sure. But the center ramp shot is always going to be known as "the prolapsed anus shot" to me.

#1814 4 years ago

Looks cool, think the projector would make this game cool, the big static image on the movie screen looks kind of cheep on the pro..

#1815 4 years ago
Quoted from dri:

So the RGB LED craze is out of fashion already?

Stern has apparently given up on it except for the arrows even though other manufacturers are doing full-RGB inserts and sometimes GI too. Kinda cheap when they keep raising prices, I can understand the PRO not having them but for $7K plus the premium and LEs should have them, light shows are not nearly as impressive with colored inserts. However it would appear that most people don't seem to mind it so I can't blame Stern for going this route and saving the $$.

Wondering what the projection screen material will look like, over time, after the ball rolls over it for a year or so.?

I'd have to disagree, but stranger things have happened[quoted image]

Happy to be wrong, Congrats and enjoy!

Quoted from Captchaos:

It’s probably stuck under the ramp. Ball won’t roll directly on it.

Quoted from TKDalumni:

This is an old tradition on DE/Sega/Stern games.

LOTR's golden butthole
ID4's necrotic vag
Toaster-sized brain bug orifice monster on Star Ship Troopers.

#1824 4 years ago

Not really feeling the super basic fan layout, and hugely over-saturated (blown out) colours - assuming there's not a problem with photos. Shame Kyle Lambert wasn't hired to do the art, even if he wouldn't have been cheap.

#1825 4 years ago

Looks like it will be easy to miss the shot on the demogorgan?

#1826 4 years ago

I’ve been watching this thread from the start. My kids would love this theme. I love the idea, just not sure I want to drop 11k on this machine. I’d need to play it 1st to see if I loved it. Our Deadpool pro still has my attention every time I play. Only have room for 2 more machines and JP premium is taking slot 3 for sure.

I hope so. It needs to be challenging. I like the design of the wide ramp for that reason.

Nice feed from the left loop onto the right ramp. Was wondering what was going on behind the jets.... Similar to the lock ramp on AFM.

Clear coat on LE is looking Shiiiiiiiiiiiny[quoted image]

Quoted from mrclean:

It's gotta hold up, you certainly don't want insert wear especially on this game.

Too bad even their prototype has insert edges transmitting through the clear (especially on the lower half of the PF)

LOL, a buddy of mine just said it looks like an inflamed anus. I laughed my ass off at that one.

#1839 4 years ago

Definitely like that LE. For me, either Premium or LE is a must for this title.

Give me some sort of guarantee that the play field issues are behind us and I’m in for one.

#1840 4 years ago
Quoted from delt31:

Oh god - that last part is a little worriesome considering their tech is ala playstation 2.

The color scheme reminds me of a clown puked play field. The art work looks great though to me.

Looks like Transformers And Star Wars. I can’t unsee.

#1848 4 years ago

Ok, chuckwurt you were right, I was wrong.

Still can't understand why Stern pulled this but, hey, the more they pump out the better.

Not overly excited for the Pro; the premium/LE look intriguing tough.

I love JP2 - their best but the video assets look PS2 on that as well.
