Stern Electronics, 1978The game is in attract mode.All the displays are flashing zeros,its ready to start it seems but I can't get a credit up.I've checked slam switches, tilt switch,ball trough switch...
I may have some prints coming soon but I don't have them yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently had a problem on my Stern Big Game. I was told that the connector pins on the MPU are dirty or have cold solder joints. I just reseated the connector a few times and it worked.
Now, this is not a fix, but a good way to trouble shoot.
If was the J3 connector I think...Lower right side of the MPU.
The fix is reflowing the solder on the header pins and replacing the connectors on the female side and probably even replacing the plastic housing for the female connectors.
FYI...I don't think you need a ball to start the early Stern games. I don't on Cheetah and Big Game.

I'd replace the male pins on the MPU and PS.
These often have cracked solder joints, are tarnished and corroded.
Newer replacement pins have locking connectors that also keep positive pressure on the contacts. 1000x better.
