Hello, Stars is one of my favorites. Have you tried the test button inside the coin door? With the machine on, push the red button on the back of the coin door three times. I think first time will Flash all the feature lights on the machine. The second will cycle all the displays through the digits. The third will fire each coil on the machine one at a time. As it does this, there will be a corresponding number on a display for each coil. The chimes on mine sound on numbers 1-3-5-7. See if they fire on those numbers. With the game off, you might also pull each connector of the MPU board (upper left) and re-seat. Many times corrosion on the connector or pins is the main problem. Those are the easiest places to start.

I just took a look at the schematics and might have an additional place for you to start looking.

Check the J2 connector on the Solenoid Driver Board. Inspect the connector and inspect pins 9, 10 & 11 for this connector on the backside of the Solenoid Driver Board.
The solder joints could be cracked on these pins. Probably just wear and tear from pushing / pulling on this connector over the last 30+ years? If cracked, reflowing the solder here will fix.

Is the 10 point chime still working? This is pin #4 on that connector.
