I received #91 today. The metal base does not lie flat to the top of the pinball but it cannot be seen from the player position. I tried a game as R2-D2, it integrated nicely. No need to video that since it was already done. I did video turning it on the first time. Partly to provide a video of the proper sequence of events when the topper is first installed and the nodes are loaded. And also to film in case it did not go smoothly I would have video to show what happened. Luckily it installed properly.

Quoted from Psw757:

Is the motor always that loud?
Any video of what it does during attract mode?

The motor is loud. I’ll do a video.

Quoted from Yoko2una:

Can we see close up pics of the decals and rectangles around the perimeter? Are they still using Sharpie?

When you turn on the game, it whistles and moves left and right twice. Pressing the flipper buttons, even when R2-D2 is referenced doesn't cause him to move or respond. After about 2:45 seconds, he whistles again and moved left and right twice. I made a video but will try to edit it tomorrow rather than post 5 minutes of video.

The blue decals looks attached rather than molded as someone previously stated. The sharpie lines look okay. The black metal base, as I stated, is not flat to the top of the head. You can see the black base is wavy and and you can see some of the light leak.

He is loud when he moves.

Quoted from Psw757:

Can you hear it during gameplay?

I heard it during gameplay because I was listening for it and it was new sounds. I believe once I get used to it, I will not hear it (or register it) as much.

It looks good. Kind of short next to Deadpool and Star Trek toppers but it looks fine.

I’ll get more video and attempt to edit it down in the next few days. If you are in my area (Purcellville, VA), you are welcome to stop by and see it/play it in person. Call me to schedule time.

I feel like this topper completes the game. I’m happy with it. Would I like it to do more? Of course. But in the end it is just a topper.

I’ll work on (but not too hard) making it less noisy and less light bleed. But not really noticeable after you get used to it.

We are at the AMC theatre for the movie. My wife bought me this. $50 for R2, large popcorn and large soda.

I could have saved $700...

Now that I’m out of the movie (I enjoyed it), here are some more photos.

The body holds the popcorn. The head holds the soda. You can rest assured that no buttery popcorn or sticky soda has touched my precious R2-D2. The head also appears to come off for cleaning.

I think this is an unlimited edition.

It appears my Christmas has been mostly Star Wars and mostly R2D2. I continue to play my Star Wars pinball with the topper installed. I have always enjoyed the game and now enjoy it more with the integration of the topper into the game play and attract mode. My Deadpool topper is kind of interactive with the hand moving up and down. But this is just the best integration, so far, that I have seen for a topper. I am glad I got the topper.

(The small R2D2 in the photo is a miniature Hallmark ornament about 2" x 2". It does not light up or anything. Just looked regal.)

Quoted from Kobaja:

mbelofsky Are the head of the 18" R2D2 and the topper head the same size?

No. The AMC R2D2 has a 22" circumference at the bottom of the dome. The topper has a 19.75" circumference at the bottom of the dome.

The topper is also a little less than 7.5" tall total.

Here’s another topper option from Williams Sonoma. I wonder if it can be configured to pop the toast at the right times.
