Quoted from mittens:There will be no topper...
Stern said the topper is still coming in their May Stern of the Union address.
The topper is coming, Stern has been joking around with people on Facebook asking about the topper in nearly every post, lol.
Quoted from Moortus:I was told in January 2018 at CES by Jody Dankberg of Stern Pinball that the topper was in final review with Disney and would be available Spring 2018. He, said the topper is the rear section of Luke's X-wing with a very chatty / interactive R2 sitting in the back. Well, here it is now approaching fall and still nothing!
That sounds amazing and if done properly I would spend $400-$500 on it. Hopefully it's released soon!
Quoted from Shapeshifter:That could be tempting, especially if coded into the game.
Yup, and the topper code is already in the game. In several of the release notes there's line entries regarding the topper and there's a topper motor setting in the menu. Hopefully the production version of the topper rotates back and forth and lights up.
The Stern Star Wars topper will be an old pinball legend one day. Some people will say they have seen it and that Stern plans to release it after Disney completes their decade long approval process. Others will say they have one and that Stern only released it to a select few who submitted a video stating why they were worthy enough to spend $1k on it.
Quoted from TheLaw:Guys Sunday is only a few days away...
Yes, I read somewhere that it will be unveiled on Sunday, September 9th. Can't wait, lol.
Not sure what to think yet. Looks detailed but is a bit on the smaller size for a topper. I'm guessing it will be $500...The base of the thing doesn't look that great and should have been the top section of the X-Wing that R2 sits in.
Quoted from TheLaw:Looks pretty lame, not a shock.
I'd say it's a little anti-climactic but it would be impossible not to be at this point.
I'll give Stern this, at least it's not another topper that just plasters the name or logo of the theme that's already on the backglass or playfield. Those have always seemed kinda like a waste as they are replicating something already on the game. This is something unique and it actually interacts with the game.
Quoted from Zavadoza:George Gomez said they will start selling it as soon as they can. Sounds like it's still waiting approval (as we've known for a while).
Thanks for posting the video! Notice any other lights going off in the dome or is just the 1 green light?
Quoted from kermit24:So is this thing on sale yet?
Haven't heard anything yet. Here's hoping Stern's adding some type of cover to the base versus the grey plastic that has currently been shown.
Still hoping there's some changes to the production version of the topper. R2's main blue light better at least light up...
Quoted from Apollyon:"The physical model for the Star Wars topper has been approved, but is waiting on documentation final approval before production can begin. We’ll make a formal announcement once it’s available for sale."
Wow lol.
Quoted from J_Striker:mid January and still nothing.... but Munsters is coming soon
Yeah...
Game Room Guys still has their Ebay ad posted so hopefully it's still coming out.
Amazon now has a listing for the topper. Can't believe the exposed phillips screw is still there, wow.

We must be missing something here. I'm sure it comes with a piece of the couch from the Falcon that R2 sat on.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Considering the Jersey Jack CE customers justified +$3000 for a topper and some fake barnacles, this is a relative bargain.
The JJP POTC CE topper didn't even come with a plaque, what a joke! Yeah, I'm sure people will still buy it just like spending $5k more for a piece of a couch with Elvira SE.
The Galactic Republic was really ahead of its time by assembling R2 units with exposed phillips screw heads, made maintenance much easier. Not sure what everyone is complaining about!
Quoted from imagamejunky:It was definitely there before. They must have removed it.

The projector feature must be in the $1500 SLE topper. It's time to get those video applications ready!
