I am in the very early stages of replacing and adding more of John Williams iconic score and some more upbeat MB music to my Star Wars Premium. This is also my first time using Pinball Browser. I plan on working on this in-between work myself, but still wanted to share my ideas incase anyone wants to join-in on the project or just give more ideas! Here is what I've come up with so far:

I think that looks great and would just keep everything original to the movies movies.

There have been some that have original score mixed with video game sounds mixed with rock music etc.... doesn’t work in my opinion.

I’d be happy to give yours a try when done!

    #3 4 years ago

Would love to try this when you’re done

Started going through the SW Prem code 1.05.0 in Pinball Browser to try and start identifying music sources (example: 0xA51). Its pretty intimidating but I'm telling myself to just keep pushing through! Im very confident in the audio editing part but the hard part for me is finding the source so I can get the exact time codes (1min014s662ms) for each and every song code. May the force be with me!!!

    #5 4 years ago

The force will be with you...always!

    #6 4 years ago

    following.

    #7 4 years ago

Following. The existing MIDI orchestation in this game drives me nuts, and takes away from the Star Wars immersion.

    #8 4 years ago

If anyone does happen to already know which audio code goes to any of these modes listed above in the 1.05.0 premium code (ex. 0xA51), and the exact time length of that audio (1min014s662ms) please feel free to post it and I will add it to the list above.

Isn’t there one for the video mode and all of the multi balls as well and high score entry?

I started a similar thread here:
    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/star-wars-sound-mods-code-version105
It might help identify some of the sound locations you’re looking for.

    Update:
I have remixed about 26 music files that are ready for import into pinball browser!

    #21 4 years ago

This looks like a cool project. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

    #22 4 years ago

Well, 37 music files have been remixed and are ready to be replaced in pinball browser "assuming" I did identify everything. Anyone interested in this project please keep an eye on it as I might end up needing some help! I don't want to blow up my game or anybody else's!!!

I’m sure it will be fine. The main thing you’ll probably need to tweak are the sound levels after playing a little, to make sure they’re even. You can also use pinball browser to edit the default machine settings so you don’t have to change them again every time you update the SD card.

While you’re at it you might want to change some of the end game Yoda quotes.

Nice job. Would love a "quiet copy" for my own game if willing.

Just like Cleland did with Walking Dead I wish more in the hobby would share their artistic interpretation when adding sound. It's just makes the whole experience more immersive. Plus, we have many talented people in this hobby - cool to see their versions.

Here are some of the remix's I found that I think would sound cool as upbeat main play and multiball music!

My personal preference is for the original music and not the techno/remix versions. I find it enhances the immersiveness of the game, as opposed to detracting from it.

Of course it’s your game so if you like it, go for it. It’s not a bad idea to get an extra SD card, and while the editing process is fresh in your mind you can do different versions.

I like how you put the video together with titles, though

    #29 4 years ago

I'm almost ready to create a "test" SD Card with an "only original music version" (no techno stuff yet) to test on my game. I do still plan on eventually incorporating the music in the video above. I have 6 scripts still to identify before I can do this test. I'm going to play my game, but if anyone else has a SW Premium/LE and Pinball Browser and wants to also help try to identify, these are what's left:
    0xA28
    0xA2F
    0xA41
    0xA52
    0xA55

Is there a way to get an alternative (original soundtrack) code somewhere ?

Hello, anyone still working on this? I’m about to start the process of swapping out music on my SW Premium with John Williams music. I might swap out some sounds with the more classic “pew pew” blasters from the movies. Any advice or a partner in crime would be massively appreciated! If you have the files to share, that would really cool. Thanks all!
