Totally stoked opening NIB and 2nd ball of 2nd game this happens. I've not really played this game and at first thought it was part of the game like the exploding Death Star, lol.

Anyway after inspecting tie fighter the wing seems about as durable as a potato chip. Has anyone come up with a more durable tie fighter swap out? Looks pretty straight forward. Thanks.

It didn't even feel like an air ball. No way I pay $70 for the same Tie Fighter. I might see what others are out there. If I can find the center part of the plastic I will super glue it for now. That wing is way to brittle.

I will look into the air ball plastic. Thanks. No clue I needed it

Quick question.

Does the “May the force be with you” swing gate back into the shooter lane do anything?

Not sure I’ve ever seen my work. Thanks.

Quoted from RockfordReplay:

Yes. The 'Escape' light will light too.
On delivery, my gate would open 40% to clog the lane and stop the ball. I spent a bit of time working on it. In the end the coil mount/bracket was ever-so-slightly out-of-square. The small loss in coil-gap translated into a significant loss of rotation with the play-field's arm.
I'm curious if you feel resistance/binding if the arm is swung by hand?

So are you saying when “escape is lit” the ball is supposed to be rerouted to the shooter lane? Mine currently drains down the outlane and into the trough. A new ball is kicked into shooter lane.

I will look at the bracket underneath. Thanks

Quoted from Psw757:

Are they making these? I’m guessing it’s a 1up machine?

Yes, they're making them. Cost is expected to be $500.

Yesterday, Arcade 1Up had shown off both a TMNT arcade cabinet and a Marvel arcade cabinet. Following that, they teased a surprise for today, one that they recently unveiled and ended up being a Star Wars Arcade cabinet. Releasing later this November 2019.

This Star Wars arcade will include the classic Star War games from Atari:

Star Wars
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

That’s not all as this cabinet will also feature a fully functional yoke – the same one that the original Star Wars arcade included. This kit will be priced at $500, making it the most expensive unit from Arcade 1Up so far. In retrospect, the controller alone can cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. So $500 is a steal.

So I'm going to take a cue from this threat and relocate my lockdown bar button.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/anyone-drill-bk3000-to-properly-add-magnasave-button

Unfortunately nobody really has done anything so I guess I'll be the first to document the relocation. I ordered a lockdown bar with no button hole and receiver. I plan to relocate the button below the right flipper button (preferably a little forward of and below)

I have no problem drilling a hole in the cabinet it just has to look factory. I like this game too much to be handicapped by the location of that button.

Quoted from Kobaja:

That's the dumbest idea ever. Steve Ritchie himself said he wanted the player to need to make that risk vs reward choice. Relocating the button is a great way to mess up the game.

Did he say that? It seems like the button is on the lockdown bar so a non pinhead knows what to do.

Convenient that Stern just happens to locate it there.

#7370 4 years ago

I’m okay with the button where it’s at, but figured the game could be improved. If Steve put it there for risk vs reward I could kind of see that, but it seems like the same deal with BK3000. I don’t think they intended Magnasave to be on the LD just to make it a R vs R situation.

Anyway knowledge is power. I’ll hold off. I’m obviously in the minority here.

Quoted from Agent_Hero:

Has anyone had a ball snap a wing off the tie fighter?

My second ball of my first game. Right wing blew up. I ended up supergluing it back together and I bet I’ve played 500+ games with no issues.

Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

This game, while brutal, is SO MUCH FUN!
Just sayin'.

I love the moving multipliers, it adds such a cool layer of strategy IMO. It’s also the difference between a decent score and an amazing one.
