Arrived it has!! 20171009_195012 (resized).jpg20171009_195012 (resized).jpgReceived my winning raffle prize today from Pinball EDU Charity via Cointaker. I upgraded to the premium, of course. No issues out of the box that I can tell. Had a mini unboxing party as well to kick it off. 20171009_211506 (resized).jpg20171009_211506 (resized).jpg20171009_211452 (resized).jpg20171009_211452 (resized).jpg

Quoted from T-800:

No idea, I'm lucky if I defeat him once. Boba is ALWAYS the last thing I have to complete before heading off to get electrocuted by the Emperor.

I need to see a video of that please.

#1940 6 years ago

May the fork (ramp) be with you.

Quoted from beelzeboob:

And WHERE THE HELL IS THE R2D2 TOPPER???

Got your $500 ready for it?

Nope, nor the side art.

Quoted from RobKnapp:

Before you purchased your SWLE you made a comment about your concern price and sales tax of buying locally. Denver. I am in the same boat 7.6 % sales tax on these newer machines is killing me . I sent you a PM about your opinion but you did not replay. My I ask where you decided to purchase your SWLE and GOTG from ? I have never shipped in a pinball machine in my life . I always just pay the 7.6 % tax but the LE's are cost is nudging to look out of state . Thank you for any feedback .

Why not just start buying the premiums since they are the same game play as the LE? $1200+ saved just right there.

#2279 6 years ago
Quoted from RobKnapp:

Pro / Premium / LE all expensive with added 7.6 % sales tax.

There is something good to be said about supporting your local distributor especially when they are local and can sometimes help out quicker than another distributor out of state.

Trading in a game helps save on sales taxes too.

Houston has city taxes on top of state sales tax that comes to 8.25%

Quoted from Ballsofsteel:

the premium is one of the best recent premiums IMO. the pro is fun...but doesn't have the same adrenaline rush. Haters are still going to hate, but in a year or two people will realize this is the real deal. nothing is more exciting than putting balls in the hyper drive loop and feeling the machine shake as you add more.

+1 on the stamina of the premium. Also my favorite art package of the three.

1 week later
#2375 6 years ago

I gave my SW Premium a 9.86 for my Pinside rating. Maybe the shaker motor will put it over the top.

#2441 6 years ago

A bug within the readme file. Who knew?

1 week later
#2592 6 years ago
Quoted from oyvindmo:

In case anyone wondered: Yeah, you should do the fix in the service bulletin if you haven't already. Since we didn't hear about the bulletin before the damage was already done, we ended up having to replace no less than seven PCBs, just because a $0.20 component broke one of its legs...

Stern warrantied the boards?

#4069 6 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Mirror blades are nice if you like staring at your machine but since I've never noticed Ed them when I'm playing I'm not really sure what the point of them is.

I think the point is to make you feel like you're playing a widebody game when you have them on a standard body. Big playfield butts anyone?

#4074 6 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Hmm interesting. Have you ever noticed them when you're playing? I just look at the ball, the things I'm shooting for, and the dmd.

I was being sarcastic. I don't see the point of them either. Only thing I can say it makes the playfield look bigger when you're looking at the playfield from the side. I'd rather have Pinblades or Gameblades from whomever has the artwork that I prefer on the title I'm buying for.

I bet this will be a cheaper version that Stern will start offering. One that may or may not have any interactive lighting.

#4423 5 years ago

I am saying this will be one of 2 versions they will be selling. So I feel we are safe to keep buying those crazy $500 toppers.

#4427 5 years ago
Quoted from Psw757:

The R2-D2 looks like cardboard or two dimensional.

Yes it does. But if it is only a $299 topper vs the $599 topper, would you buy it?

2 months later
#5418 5 years ago
Quoted from woodmedic:

I am awaiting stern to go back into production on the premium's so that I can get one. Anyone know when that is supposed to happen?

Did you call many Stern distributors to see if they are in stock? Good time to ask around for best price anyway.

1 week later
#5494 5 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

OK. ENOUGH ALREADY! Where is the DAMN TOPPER!?!?

Will be available to order sometime in 2019 it seems.

#5496 5 years ago
Quoted from Psw757:

This a joke? IF true where did u hear this?

It is a joke, my comment as well as it has been over a year now that the game has been shipping and still no sign of the topper. I'm ready to see the reveal so I can decide if I'll be spending the money on it, if I feel it is worth it.

#5498 5 years ago
Quoted from Psw757:

Hopefully topper today and Aerosmith code!

Deadpool reveal is today, so can't see either one of those happening today.

#5705 5 years ago
Quoted from pinchamp:

Here you go! Anyone who doesn’t want to see the Emperor get his ass kicked in 1:30 don’t watch. This could be the quickest I have ever beat him... he didn’t get a shot in on me. Enjoy!!!

[quoted image]

Sweet. Thank you for sharing. Maybe in 5 years, I'll get to see that mode. haha

#5707 5 years ago

Never did I until I read how often T-800 was getting to see the Emperor and I needed to see it.

#5716 5 years ago
Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Topper update from the September "State of the Stern" update. Sounds like the final final final approval (pending NASA review) for the most anticipated topper in pinball history has been submitted.
"The Star Wars topper has been sent and submitted for final approval getting us one step closer to our formal announcement once it’s available."

That's not far off! Thanks. Lol.

Anytime you need an answer on the time line of the SW topper, just say 2 weeks.

#5784 5 years ago
Quoted from ASOA:

Last date told to distributors was 9/9 on the topper. Only a couple more days to go.
Damn! I should have confirmed 2018.

Great source you have there. Where is said topper to have been announced on a Sunday??? Got the year wrong, should be 2019?

#5786 5 years ago
Quoted from PanzerFreak:

The topper is now in the final final approval phase.

That has been stated on the last 2 Stern of the Union addresses.

#5788 5 years ago
Quoted from spidey:

What they don't tell you is the "final approval phase" can take up to 2 years.

My point exactly.

#5794 5 years ago

I am willing to bet that even when the topper is approved that Stern will hold off announcing it until they have it in production, just like they do with the machines.

#5817 5 years ago
Quoted from Kobaja:

Sorry for my unspecific request. I forgot to mention I am looking for Premium/LE game code.

But why would one want to go backwards instead of forward?

Stern puts the code out and it is up to the owner/operator to update it. Also, the game is out of the warranty period, so one must expect to pay for parts at some point. Never hurts to check with your distributor you/previous owner bought the game from.

Quoted from zaphX:

I added a shaker motor to Star Wars and holy crap it tries to shake itself apart on default settings!
Do people really run it like this in full blast?

Did you buy an actual Stern shaker motor?

My Coin Taker one in my SW premium is more powerful than the Stern one that I installed in my Stern Indiana Jones game.

#6270 5 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

Yes and it’s absolutely nuts!

Actual Stern product? Purchased from Stern?

#9786 3 years ago
Quoted from rai:

What is that ball save limit at start ???
Does that mean you can save ball more than once on the same ball?
That might be helpful for auto drains.

Yes

#9790 3 years ago

Things I noticed with this v1.10 update...

Stern logo comes up after 5 seconds upon turning on the game vs. 20 seconds or so
2 balls saves within my 10 second ball time setting
Game play tutorials during attract mode
Much less confusing multi colored inserts during modes
Some inserts are no longer lit if not related to the mode in play

#9795 3 years ago

I did a full update and that definitely wipes out all audits and adjustment settings.

As I was reminded by a friend, the quick update is not supposed to erase the audits, but does it erase the adjustments?

#9803 3 years ago
Quoted from setzkor:

So does the premium code have the 2 ball save feature as well? It doesn't mention that in the release notes.

Quoted from PinballManiac40:

2 balls saves within my 10 second ball time setting

#9812 3 years ago
Quoted from setzkor:

Thanks! To confirm, I take it by your multicolored insert comment that you have a premium?

I have a premium.

#9814 3 years ago
Quoted from tilt-master:

Same here, I’ve never seen a slam tilt until after this update. I was having a great game and it slam tilted and game reset on me. I have a pro

Can you put the game on switch test and let it sit for 20 minutes to see if any tilts happen?

#9821 3 years ago
Quoted from tilt-master:

I did this, no tilts occurred

Looking forward to what Stern has to say. I only put 10 games on my premium since upgrading and have not had any issues.

#9858 3 years ago
Quoted from mbrave77:

So did the new code erase everyone elses hi scores? I dont mind settings reverting but Im really sad my hi scores are suddenly gone....over a years progress gone! Its as if billions of voices cried out and were suddenly silenced....

Did you do the quick update? That is not supposed to.

I did the full update and for sure it does erase it in this case.

Just noticed this today on my Star Wars. While ball is NOT in the shooter lane, can hold down a flipper button until the instant info screen pops up. Then press the action button to see what achievements are available. Keep pressing the action button to page thru them. Pressing a flipper button takes you back to the instant info. Obviously, need to be logged in.

thanks i appreciate it and others input; i can get both NIB premium star wars for 8990 and AIQ for 8400
dont want to rush into it but right now at home i only have godzilla and would like to have 2 machines to switch to

I don't think Star Wars will be in production too much longer. It was released in 2017.

I do like both premium games.

#13599 1 year ago

My SW premium had no issues on 1.22, nor on the current 1.23.

As always, I power down the game for at least a minute before turning the game back on after an update to let the voltage bleed off.

IC installed and WiFi updated during these last 2 updates.

My game is from 2017, not that should matter.

Thinking about getting a new build pro. Any feedback? Not a highly rated pin but enjoy it and theme on location. Just got rid of my SW modded virtual pin to make room.

Get it if you like playing it. Your opinion counts more than than anyone else's on a game you are buying.
