I just picked up a premium and have not put many games on it yet. Is this a mod most folks would recommend?

Quoted from RetroGamerJP:I have owned both an LE and a Premium... for me, in both cases it was immediately obvious that I needed one. I would get a ton of air balls off the target right under the Tie Fighter.
Thanks! I will shoot you a pm.
Quoted from Ssoltero:Hey All. I recently achieved the Grand Champion spot on my Pro machine at home. It bumped the other GC score to #1. The next day I power on my machine and the only remaining score is my GC. All other scores were reset to defaults.
Has anyone else ever had an issue like this on Star Wars? (Or any Stern machine, I suppose.)
There is a setting to reset scores after a specified number of plays. That is likely what was triggered.
Quoted from AJB4:I need some help:
All of a sudden I am getting a message on start up Node board 8 not located. The Left Half the gi is out and the lower half of the playfield inserts are out. Also if you try to start a game it does a ball search twice and doesn't find the balls which are all in the trough.
Any ideas? I looked at what I think is node board eight and everything looks ok to me?
Unplug connectors and then reconnect everything. Make sure the coin door is closed when you power up if your game has the switch on the door.
Quoted from Ssoltero:Oh. Wow. How about that! It defaults to 2000.
Is this just a personal preference? Seems odd to me that you would ever want to reset your scores. I guess it kinda makes sense for a public machine.
Thanks, DudeRegular.
Totally owner preference in a home environment. On location it makes sense to give players something to go for.
Quoted from brickbuilder14:Hey, I recently got into Pinball. I have Jurassic Park, Deadpool and Elvira. I LOVE the Star Wars movies. I was planning on getting the Star Wars pin as my first ever Pin but multiple people convinced me that it wasn't 'as good' as the above three. I wanted to get your opinion. What are the shortcomings of the Star Wars Pin? I heard that it is extremely difficult to tell what you have to do next, very hard to hit the final Death Star shot, and relies too heavily on the movie scenes (which I love!) but that you cant see them anyway while playing. I just wanted to get some opinions from people who obviously love the game. Thanks guys!
Get the games you want, not what some other dude wants. Specifically on Star Wars, the theme integration is really well done. Sounds and video are really nice. The plunge gets some flack (rightfully so honestly), but you can overcome that with soft plunges and proper game setup.
I am having fun learning the rules. It still feels like a Steve Ritchie game. You can back hand the ramps. It plays fast. If you want it get it. You can always change your mind and get something else.
Quoted from wolffcub:It has been brought to my attention that the LED boards under the scenario inserts on a Premium and Le machine are different from my Pro. If you have purchased a light baffle kit from me for a Premium / Le machine please PM me. I am currently working on a revised baffle for these areas that will have holes for both types of LED boards. I will send out revised sets to who contacts me via Pm as soon as they are complete. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Good to know. I was looking to make an order.
Quoted from pudealee:Just recently on my prem, my Death Star his having trouble closing. I'm not talking about a little gap after it explodes, but staying totally open. Eventually with a few jolts of the shaker motor it will start on it's way of closing. Is there any sort of mechanical adjustment I can make? Something too tight, or maybe a loose spring?
I went to the diagnostics, and the DS will open perfectly. I even took the glass off and made it explode and no issues there. It just seems that it may be binding on something when it comes to closing. Any help is appreciated.
Mr big shot over here destroying the death star so often it stopped working.... No danger of that at my house lol.... Sorry bud, no help here.
Quoted from wolffcub:The baffle kit revisions have been made and fitment has been confirmed from other machine models. The baffles are now made with both mounting holes styles so the kit is good for any machine model.
Ordered a set for my premium.
Quoted from wolffcub:As far as I have been told yes they do. The kit now has multiple holes in it to work with the 2 different led boards that have been used. If you can lift your playfield and snap a pic of one of the world led boards that would still be great. I have a pro and my holes are 1 1/16" apart. Another pinsider confirmed his led boards were 3 1/2" apart.
Wonder why the boards would be different on some models, I thought that part of the games would all be the same.
Hi, did my order make it through? It said a PayPal invoice comes after. Thanks!
I finally got around to getting a digital level and put it on our Star Wars. The game was honestly frustrating me. The way it was setup when I got it the playfield bubble was right near the top line. This is where it is when I used the digital level to get the game to 6.55-6.6 or so. Proves to me the bubble isn't always accurate.
20201017_100938.jpgQuoted from mollyspub:Sorry but what is a Retheme card?
Beatles has custom code that changed up the video and audio packages in a very cool way. There are quite a few games that have custom code. GoTG, Star Trek, X-Men, etc.
Quoted from Psw757:Would installing this via usb erase the custom soundtrack I have installed on my SD card?
Yes unless you merged it all in Pinball browser first and created your own custom build.
Quoted from PinKopf:Got the white wolf light baffle kit installed in my Pro - fairly easy install just a little finagling to get the mounting screws for the lightboards lined up with the baffles in place. Seems to work great. No light bleedover, nice and isolated for all the impacted inserts.

Nice. My kit should be arriving this week. Look forward to getting it installed.
I received my baffle kit yesterday and got it installed today. Install went great and I really like how it works. Great price too in my opinion. It was 90% super easy to install. The only part that took a tad longer was the death star and hoth parts since they are on the same light board. You have to get them both staged then re-install the board, but still very doable without taking everything apart. I didn't remove any connectors at all. Just unscrew the light boards, insert the baffles then re-install. Thanks!
Quoted from Pinstein:I made some custom slingshot plastics that match the rails on the LE. Looks sharp together. Im about to add a center post on my LE. Has anyone else done that?
[quoted image][quoted image]
Out lanes are the biggest drain spots for me. The left is nasty. Are you going to drill a hole or try to make one like they have for ghostbusters?
Quoted from Pinstein:Just drill a hole. I see center posts that thread into the pf but that seems like it could fail and stress the wood. Im just going to drill a hole and bolt one through. Ive always enjoyed games that had one. The games is so fast and open that I get some long ball stdm's. My ball times are pretty short and I think it would enhance game play. How much it depreciates my LE? or maybe it would be worth $2.95 more.
[quoted image]
The vast majority of folks will not want to buy a game with a hole drilled where it didn't belong. Of course it's your game, but I wouldn't do that.
Look up ghostbusters center post or Elvira as chalkey mentioned. It floats over the playfield and is reversible.
Quoted from No_Pickles:Relative newbie question:
I changed out my slingshot rubbers for clear titan silicone.
It was an immediate improvement in gameplay as I no longer have to aggressively nudge to break the slingshot to slingshot to outlane cycle.
The problem is one of the slings is now occasionally self-activating, or after a legitimate trigger it keeps hammering for an additional few seconds before stopping.
Is that because the silicone is a tiny bit too tight? I’m assuming I need to stretch it a little bit, or slightly bend back the metal switches it activates.
As I’m writing this, I’m remembering that when I initially stretched it in place one of the metal switches was accidentally pinched outside the rubber, I probably bent it forward unintentionally.
Occasionally you have to go up one size on slings with Titan rings.
