Hello,

I have a SW Prem. The ball seems to get stuck at top right orbit gate (If I labeled it correctly). I have just dealt with it just by shaking the game and it comes free but was wondering if anyone has a solution? I have not tried any attempts to correct the matter before reaching out. My last issue was a simple matter of updating the code. lol

Thanks again.

Quoted from RipleYYY:

the solution is to found why the ball get stucked !
is this happening when ball must do the full orbit ?

The ball gets stuck in the right orbit gate by either coming all the way from the left obit or either a bumper knocks it into the position in the picture I posted.

I would like to request anyone to post a pic of what the gate should actually look like. Not sure what adjustment I need to make.

Thanks again.

Not sure how to tackle the errors from these reports. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Quoted from Enron64:

So run a switch test and activate it manually. If it works, then it most likely just hadn’t been hit in a bunch of games so the machine flags it as a possible non working switch

Thank you Enron64! Your recommendation resolved the errors.

I’ve had my SW Prem for almost a year and I love it. I just have a small problem with the lever in the back orbit lane just under the super charger. Ive included some pictures that show the ball getting stuck. A few bumps can knock it out. But I would like to know if there is an easy fix for this before I mess with removing the supercharger in order to get to the problem area.

Thanks for any advice.

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue on the right ramp switch (see image) of my SW Premium. The switch is intermittently working. When it stops working, I stick the handle end of a screw driver down the track and it eventually starts to work again. However after a few ball runs, it starts to fail again. Any advice would be appreciated. Any resources on disassembly that portion of the supercharger track would be appreciated too. Just would like to be informed before I take apart stuff.

Quoted from D-Gottlieb:

Sounds like the opto is out of adjustment.

How do you adjust that? If there is an article or video you could point me to I would greatly appreciate it.

#13094 1 year ago
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:

Optos are throughout the game. They act as switches. There are two components, the sender and receiver. One shines a light to the other. When the beam is broken, the switch registers. You need to access the opto boards, they are small, about 2 inches, and loosen the holding screws and realign. You will need to do some disassembly to get to them.

Thanks for replying BTW. Looking at the Stern Manual. It’s showing 57 is a micro switch. This switch is intermittent. It works, then for some reason, stops registering. I did some reading and I cannot locate an opto that works with the micro switch. So I’m thinking it’s the micro switch itself. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Maybe my first image was misleading. I went into switch diagnostics and toggled this micro switch and my 1st screen shot was the result.

Resolved: So my micro switch issue is resolved. I went to Node 9, CN10 and reseated the connection. Played a couple of games and seems to clear up the issue. Just thought I’d share in case anyone has a similar issue.

These games do get shaken up from time to time. Lol

Thanks Everyone

Hey guys, Got a problem with my hyperloop. The damn thing won’t stop. Lol It Stop once ball search kicks. I think it’s a connection issue because it’s intermittent. If I move the playfield, the issue resolves itself. After enough vibrations, the problem comes back. So after looking through the manual, I’m not sure which node I should be looking at for loose connections. Please help. I’m stuck in hyperspace! Lol

For those that have SW Premium with hyper loop issues. I resolved mine.

Original Problem: My hyper loop would not engage the diverter and the accelerator would keep shooting the ball around the wireframe track. Finally ball search would start and the diverter would kick on.

Solution: There was a connection issue with the opto transmitter and receiver. Run diagnostics on the accelerator and switches and look for opto switches not responding. Next thing I notice was the screws holding the transmitters and receivers were not loose but not tight either. The back track of the accelerator gets neglected when cleaning so I used a can of air to attempt to clear out any dust. I disconnected the opto sensors and cleaned them. Reconnected the sensors, but this time made sure to tighten the two screws holding each sensor. Probably wouldn’t hurt to add a bit of lock tight on the threads.

Hyperspace Multiball: After the above solution fixed my diverter problem, Hyperspace multiball would not start a third ball in hyperspace multiball. Ran accelerator diagnostics and the results show running accelerator with 1 ball would equal o balls. 2 would equal 1, 3=2.

Solution: I replaced opto transmitter and receiver sets 3 and 4 in the accelerator track based of accelerator and switch diagnostics observations.

Game is now working.

Final thoughts: Game can undergo some serious vibrations with the accelerator track so it’s pretty easy for either a cable to come loose or a sensor to become misalign. If you notice the speed of the ball going around the track seems slow. This may be a sign with an issue of the opto sensors.

Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Quoted from spidey:

This is great! I have the same issue with the ball count being wrong in test mode which results in the game not kicking out ball 3.
I ran the Hyperspace loop test and watched the 4 opto boxes on the display and most of the time I see all 4 boxes blink but any of the 4 may not blink sometimes as the ball goes through. How do you tell which opto pair to replace? I suppose I could just replace all 4 pair.
Pimballlife has these,
https://www.pinballlife.com/search.html?Search=515-0215

If you’re tight on funds, you could try cleaning both sensors and re-insert. If the parts are cheap to you, replace them all (or half like I did). Then run the accelerator test again, check the ball count. To be honest, the diagnoses was harder than actually repairing the problem. I can’t take all the credit. Stern support was awesome and I’m very grateful for their help.

I'm having the same issue. How do you tell which opto to change out?

I can only tell you from my experience which is to change the last two set of sensors. Please try the other solutions first before spending money. Your sensors just might be loose or dirty.

Need some help here. I think my 511-5033-03 gate is assembled incorrectly or the technical documents are wrong.

I was getting balls stuck on this gate. I noticed I was missing the Clevis pin (#8). Upon looking at the diagram (Attached). The placement of the pin doesn't seem to match what is actually installed on other games I noticed. The diagram is showing the installation is on the right pinhole. However games are showing the pin installed in the other pinhole.

Also the Actual gate (535-9682-00) on mine seems to be flipped where the angled lip (see #7 arrow) is pointing up instead of down.

So my question is what point of reference should I be using to make sure my 511-5033-03 gate is assembled correctly?

Hey thanks, can you snap another pic of the right gate showing the tip of the gate dangling (#7 in the diagram)? I need to know which way it’s installed.

Sure thing.
