Dwight also wrote down a bug, where the death star was shot to select a mission, it was supposed to loop but it went too slow and the ball fell out of the habitrail on the flippers, but as you needed to select the mission, flippers were dead (I think), will get fixed as he saw it happen

Scoring is indeed adjusted in the version from the live stream. Much better I think.

Find and play the star wars machines at Belgian Open Pinball 2017 and the surrounding pubs for some 'special' stern star wars action.
Can't say more but you'll find out once you see it

#1474 6 years ago

No reaction on this... we played this at the BOP and a lot more (light saber duel, ..) :

Quoted from djoverpour:

Im assuming thats a beta code of a new version?

Correct, beta code.
Also on the one in the pub in the area around the tournament.
Video mode is steering a ship trough asteroids, really nice mode (movement is like Timeshock where you push left and right and move in a circular way).

#1478 6 years ago

Don't know what was played but here is some video of the game during the tournament

https://www.twitch.tv/belgianpinballassociation/clips

#1501 6 years ago

That's correct, you advance to a next level after a certain nr of passed asteroids. And you have a streak and 'best streak' in the bottom.

Interesting is that the total value depends of the actual multiplier.
No multiplier means the video mode is worth little points, even when flown near perfect. (5-10M)

I'm doubting to add this machine to my collection...
The problem is... I haven't watched any star wars movies ever...and I'm not a fan at all...

I semi like star trek, I tried once one of the older star wars movies in the year 2000 and I don't know...wasn't convinced. I'm not even sure I completed the movie back then.

I still love the rules of the multipliers on this title and I amble to blow the game up (5B on 3 balls for example).

Should I be ok if I purchase this title or should I end up having regrets.

I'm doubting between GOT, MET (which I owned before) or this one.

#6331 5 years ago

Thank you eskaybee, that's an excellent write up.
I'm fan of the GOT show but my biggest concern is the software on the playfield multiplier at the ram.. it's hard to keep it going at 5x.

I really like the player controlled multiplier on star wars, and think star wars has more code depth (more modes) than GOT.

#6335 5 years ago

What! I still own an Avatar LE... one of the best movies ever. I just love that theme.
James Cameron = gold... James Horner soundtrack, etc...
Actually the rules aren't that bad, next up to Iron man. Just needs a little polish.
You better prepare yourself cause 4 Avatar movies are coming our way, starting in december 2020 and 2021

But I agree on the above. SW gives me a rush in making big multiplied shots. Something GOT gives me less. And as much as I like the GOT show, I think the pro artwork is really bad. Like a nineties photoshop thing.
GOT has the multiplier rule also but it resets a lot quicker so a few bricked shots and your multiplier is partially lost.

On star wars for example, is there software in it that you for example set the multiplier on the left loop or right ramp to boost the hyperspace hurryup value a few times before cashing in (of course multiplier changed to death star shot)? Or does the multiplier doesn't apply to that?

#6338 5 years ago

Thank you again Eskaybee, just the insight I needed!

Sorry to ask, maybe mentioned before, but is there an award for beating all four characters?

#7331 4 years ago

Ok I pulled the trigger on a star wars pro.

Never seen any of the movies (one I watched halfway trough about 20 years ago...).
But I love the multiplier blowup possibilities. Curious if it will hold, but I always enjoy it very much when playing at a location or at a friends house.

Unboxed my star wars pro this evening.

3rd game was just great.. (3 balls, 2 xtras, outlanes mid position, factory settings)..

This is what you get when completing all modes but waiting to play the planet modes one after the other at 40x

Quoted from kermit24:

FYI: There is a tilt bob in the coin box.

it's installed, back legs are all up, and yes the glass was on

#7358 4 years ago
Quoted from Jerickso77:

Yup. I originally had mine at 7.3 but read that post from Steve Ritchie about how playing steep is cheating so i dropped to 6.8 and it's noticeably harder.

Thank you, input appreciated! Will drop it a little

#7381 4 years ago

I lowered the back of the game, tightened the tilt and scored 15B today + jedi multiball
Admitted I play the game in a risky manner and mantain and move my multiplier constantly, certainly for the big payoffs.
Hyperspace hurryups of 1B+ are fun

What else could I do to make it harder, can you play with the tie figher/hyperspace multiball settings? Or should I disable stacking of regular modes? (multiball modes stacking is off)
Because entering a multiball with 2 modes running is mostly a guaranteed both mode completion.

#7384 4 years ago

Ok I'll go for the hyperspace multiball extra hard and will increase the nr of tie fighters needed for multiball and decrease both their ball savers in multiball.
I prefer to keep the normal mode stacking, cause it's part of the fun.

Quoted from Looking4FirstPin:

I just set up a NIB SW Pro yesterday, and during a game just now I had a spotlight flasher pop out of one of the two spotlights above the Force drop targets. I realize this is a silly question, but is there any trick to reinstalling the bulb into the holder? I have secured (I believe) the bulb back into the spotlight, but it is not turning on.
I also realized that the other spotlight bulb is missing, but I do not believe it was there to begin with. I have searched the playfield and all gaps on it, and there is no spotlight in the bottom of the cabinet.
This is my first pin, so I’d appreciate any help or tips that you have.
Thanks!

That bulb is a flasher bulb and does not always light on. For examply only in certain light animations or in the 'game over' flasher sequence.
Installing it is ok when it's behind the thin metal holder bracket.
Both should hold the same flasher, colour white. If one not present, contact your distributor, he should hook you up with one.

I now have this game since 3 months and I keep playing it.

No mode stacking (only after defeating the emperor)
3 hyper space hurry ups for mb
50 tie fighters for multiball
Outlanes open, 3balls, one extra

The fun thing is, that though theme doesn't interest me a lot, but the shot/mode variation and music is just so great.
And shooting billion shots on the hyper space hurry ups feels just so so great.

I still don't get the second part of hyper space hurry up multiball. make all the shots? Or is there more to it?

Quoted from Hoochoo:

Below is a .pdf showing the maximum points on offer for all the missions and major modes in the game.

Thank you so much for this! Now I love this game even more!

In my case I have setup my pro to outlane posts in up position. I understand the premium being harder withouth the post at the drop targerts.
But I'm good at drop catching so whenever I have a wild ball, I gain control quite fast. If not and I get some slingshot action, yes then my game too likes to slam the ball in the left outlane.

red = able to hit tie fighters after tie fighter hurry up colllected
orange = add a ball in planet modes (hold 2 secs)

#8297 4 years ago

Setup my game the last months like this:
3 balls + 1 extra
No mode combination at all
outlanes wide open
tie fighter multiball settings hard (50 tie fighters needed for mb)
hyperspace multiball hard (3 hurry ups)

Finally defeated the emperor on these settings.
Was a real rush to play.
I'm not at all in to star was but this game is such fun.

Ended up 11.5B (in this was a 1B hyperspace hurry up and a 850M video mode).

#8308 4 years ago

Everybody sets up his game the way he wants of course.
With mode stacking I would start 2 modes and then bring in hyperspace MB or tie fighter MB for a guaranteed mode finish.

This way it got a little too easy on the modes for me.

I completed the game as Han, but still not sure on all differences the choice of character brings with it.

#8362 4 years ago

You know there are levels on the video mode? I think the higher the level the more worth the points.
I have an 850M video mode champ now I think.

It's a strategy to only play that with a big multiplier

I just received the millenium falcon from Stern and I want to install it on my pro (no mezel mod alligator clips but with a real connector)

From the light reference table in the pro manual this seems to be provided/supported (bottom row in screenshot)

Anyone already installed this with success? Just wanted to check before I blow up my nodeboard or something like that.

Quoted from kermit24:

Node board 10, Connector (CN) 2?

Of course, that seems logic, just wanted to verify if somebody already had done this.
Manuals do not always match the real situation.

#8406 4 years ago

I think when you have bonus held on your last balll, it gives you the bonus double, because otherwise it would be a non benefit on your last ball.

Installed it on my pro and it works. M Falcon connects to led board 10a and is driven from the menu by it's specific flasher

#8449 4 years ago

Some pictures of the Millenium Falcon kit (the one from Stern) as installed on the pro.
The light (actually a flasher) is off when game is in game over, and mostly on in gameplay, sometimes goes along animations (like xtra ball, ...)

I had to make the bracket that attached to the ramp myself, all the rest of the hardware on the mill falcon itself (led mounting, etc..) was there.

You can build your hurry up value by completing return lanes before starting the hyperspace hurry up. During hurry up by shooting the left loop, right ramp and completing return lanes. You probably got it a high as 40M x 40 = somewhere around 1,6B

#8659 4 years ago

I'll take that bonus score!
Final score was 20B on 3 balls 1 extra, outlanes open wide and hard settings for stacking/multiballs

I agree...show more of the big payoff scores in planet multiball endings, less yoda in the end of ball bonus and on the pro fix the bug that when you start tie fighter multiball with a hyperspace hurry up running and end up in combining both multiballs... you sometimes have an infinitive ball stuck in the inner loop untill you are down to 1 ball.
And not auto award a victory lap shot on the planet finish shot.

For the rules I have used the AWESOME pdf that was posted a while ago with the rules. It has helped me a lot.
It could balance a few modes on scoring level.
