Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Absolutely. It seems next to impossible for the diodes not to flex at least a bit during the install. I couldn't avoid moving mine back and forth at least a bit during the install.
Hell, I think for a vast majority of owners performing the diode fix will put more strain / flex on the diodes then 1000's of gameplay sessions will.

I agree. I went to install the zip ties and spacers and I was afraid that I was gonna cause the damage that I was trying to prevent. I aborted the install and used hot glue to fuse the 2 diodes together. Seems pretty stable. I hope this gives the support needed, but there was no way I was gonna get away with the install without breaking something.

I was thinking the same thing. They do move a bit during install and I wasn’t liking that!

Where did you get the blue EL rails
? Or did it just come out that way in the Pic.

My machine has become a left drain monster off the auto plunge. It’s level side to side and at 6.5 degrees. I took the right wire fork ramp off and got under the right plastic by the plunger rail. I found one 1/4 hex screw that I loosened...but it didn’t seem like the tab it was going through, that holds the rail guide in place, was slotted, just a normal hole. I did my best to move the rail. Even took the bubble level off to see if I could adjust it. Once I tightened everything back down, the guide seemed to go back into the same position. Am I missing something?

made some cards:

I've been trying for an hour to get these downloaded to my mac and resized. not having success!

anyone able to get these formatted for me and perhaps send me a pm with them.

I was planning on printing each on a 4x6 photo paper and then trimming edges.

#2856 5 years ago

Figured out the rail. I had the right screw, but did loosen it enough. Moved it towards the outside. It helped, but still a problem. I always level and pitch my games with an iPad iPhone resting on the flippers and use the app PinGuy. I had it at 6.5 degrees, but increased the pitch to about 6.8. This helped greatly with the left sided cheap drains from auto plunge, and I was still able to backhand the deathstar. Not sure what changed.

I've had LOTS of left side insta-drains from a ball launch. Also, sometimes the small loop sends the ball straight down the middle when shot from the left side. I don't think there's an adjustment for that small loop. These can be frustrating, especially when it ruins your current game.

6.8 is too much for this game I think, it will still probably hamper your death star shots a bit.

I agree that 6.5 is what it should be. I’ll have to play it a few dozen times to make sure. My wife was mad at me for changing something (when he cheap drains became a problem this weekend), but I only wiped the playfield down with Novus 1. Then the weekend of adjustments and frustrating play began. I love this game, but will admit it is one of the pickiest games to set up...must be perfect. I see why a casual player, who plays one at a bar that’s not set up properly, ends up hating it.

I have my kit at home and afraid to do it with the zip ties. Are you just using a hot glue gun to wedge that spacer in there then? never really did any type of repair on any of my machines I had as they were NIB.

I was thinking some self stick pipe insulation foam wedged in there would probably work as well.

Is this a concern if you don't put a shaker in it?

Saw a SW pro fail on location after about 4000’ish plays, it had a shaker motor.

I had to do it to all 4 games...Star Wars was by far the easiest. I just needed to unplug 3 things to get more room. Took all but 15 seconds to get the spacers on.

I didnt use the spacer at all, but seating it with a glob of hot glue wouldn’t be a bad idea. Just tricky not burning your fingers.

I tried to match up the X-Wing Fighter with the two Tie Fighters to reflect the backboard graphics...

#2867 5 years ago

Moved the shooter rail all the way in, and took off the nudie I bought to protect the shooter lane. I think the nudie was my main problem. I gave the nudie a great review, but the ball would hang on it after ejected into the shooter lane. It got better at first, but then became every other ball, especially at a 6.5 degree pitch. I also think the drag it was causing on the shot ball was changing the dynamics and causing problems. Now that the nudie is gone and the machine is back to 6.5 the cheap drains have all but stopped, and the play is back to fast and smooth.

#2868 5 years ago

Made it to the 3rd character last night, what a rush. Two medals from 3 Victory multiballs. Total score was still only half of my grand champ. lol.

Quite a few people have complained that the shot multiplier unbalances the game, but I find it does an incredible job of actually balancing the game play - - there isn't any single one mode or multiball that gives you crazy points - - you can score huge on almost anything you do in this game (Escape Fett, MBs, modes, Light Saber Duel, even video mode, etc.) if you manage your multiplier and go after that risk reward of the dangerous 3 bank. It really makes the game diverse in that your strategy can change in an instant while playing and that you really can go for that huge grand champ score without having to have an epic long game. Bravo to Dwight and the team for developing (and taking the risk) on such a unique rule set.

How long did it take to get them?
My request was in to GEX on 12/27

Bought a new Premium just before Xmas and I've got around 180 games on it so far and finally starting to figure it all out. Sure is a fun machine to play and cranking up the multiplier and moving it around is very cool! Had it at 40x and moved it to Hoth and fired up the video mode - and cranked out 359 million! Scored big on some other shots and bonuses and broke through 3 billion, pretty sweet!

FYI - my build date is November 15th and it had the Stern zip tie / capacitors done to the boards so I didn't have to worry about it.

What are peoples' best video modes? I got this on 40x, but still hit some asteroids so there must be better...

Stock settings. It might not have been level 1, don't remember exactly. Not sure how the levels effect scoring

Level 2 + is definitely worth more points.

Just got my SW pro delivered and setup yesterday!

First impressions: a very sparse playfield, for sure. It makes my GOT pro look packed

Sound quality is really good. This along with the movie assets and voice callouts really bring the player into the trilogy.

This is my first Spike-2, so happy to dump the DMD's. I really dig the small display on the playfield, but I think they could use it better. It mostly seems to show Tie Fighters, not enough information during modes.

Game is super fast with tight shots - losing control of the ball results in many side drains; I need to play better

The game is dead silent when it turns on. I am used to the crazy loud fan from GOT and DI - I thought there was something wrong when I flicked the switch. Good to see Stern switched to on-demand cooling fans.

Kids are crazy about this theme. They were frustrated with the handling of the right eject and elated with the ball save after the 1.0 update.

The lightshow! Wow, forgot to mention how well done the lighting is! It is mesmerizing. Not quite as fancy as Dialed In or WoZ, but it is a close second. Love the R/B/W GI system (a big reason why I chose the Pro version since it is the same as the Premium).

Ruleset seems amazing - can't wait to really dig into this one!

Well, glad to be part of the club - I have a lot of reading to do

Anyone seeing light bleed on their LCD? I'm getting quite a lot of light bleed from the left/right sides on my SWLE LCD.

My SWLE also didn't want to turn on after turning it off for a few seconds. I had to flip the power switch a few times before it worked.

New discovery: if you turn off ball save and then play an extra ball, when the 'Shoot Again' light flashes after you plunge the ball, that's not a ball save...

Also if you get your ball saved by Escape and the escape light is flashing when your new ball goes down the right outlane again, that doesn't mean you get another ball save.

Had my premium delivered today and dumb question - is start button supposed to illuminate? It works but not lighting up.

Yep should light up.

I dont think its a bulb... IIRC its an rgb led board. Check the connections are solid.

Thanks.... brand new machine and the thing isn’t oriented correctly.

I’ll have to switch it around to that position.

Have to wonder how it leaves factory like that.

Am I missing something here?

Looks like there should be a bulb.

I think it is used when Hoth is lit...to keep the ball from bouncing out of the horseshoe after it hits the back of the forks. Traps the ball so you can choose your mission.

Had my machine delivered Friday and this thing is just awesome.

Somehow during battle above Endor I blew up the death star and had to be one of the most intense sequences of multiballs I’ve ever seen!

Video sequences and music are perfectly integrated in this machine as well.

Just pure fun and shoots so smooth

Awesome welcome to the club! There are two modes that you can destroy the Death Star. Battle Above Endor is one of those. Actually in that mode it’s the second Desth Star that gets destroyed.

It was so crazy that I didn’t see the video of the Death Star until after it was exploding.

When you say second Death Star you are referring to the one that appears only partially built I’m assuming? Does the video actually show that?
