Quoted from Cusanus:Hello Guys, i joined the club, i have questions about which side blades to buy, recommendations? Does anyone have pictures of the saberlight blades from tiltgraphics ?
I’m on the other side of things. I prefer Stern art blades on everything. I like having immersive art that expands the world under glass designed by the same art team. My only exceptions are Bond, where I think Stern had a swing and a miss with the concept art sketches they used, and for JP home pin, where Stern didn’t have an offering and Tilt Graphics had an almost perfect match.
I only use mirror blades on 90s games. They scratch easily and show finger prints so I remove them and give them away on any modern game I trade for that come with them. To each their own.
With Stern SW art blades, check to see if anyone has extra, since they came in a 3 pack. When I bought mine, I gave the other 2 sets back to my distro who I’m friendly with to share with other owners.
Scott-UK thanks for the pictures, it looks, awesome,

MrMikeman thanks for the answer, i will go with mirror, no more doubts
Quoted from MrMikeman:Original retail was $749, which most thought was outrageous at the time. It's in this thread, thousands of posts ago.
Search the word TOPPER in this thread for a good laugh. Folks whining for YEARS for the topper to get released. Finally it gets released and then everyone loses their collective minds at the price as being way too high. As if licensed SW/Disney stuff would be cheap lol..
I just wish they hadn't made it limited. They've done so many runs of this game it would be nice to still be able to get the topper.

Im using this protector when I open my PF to avoid scratching. So far it works

Late to the party here, but I too have mirror blades installed on my premium. I posted a picture a few pages back, but I absolutely love them. Also picked up a set of art blade protectors for when I need to service the machine. Very cheap insurance to mitigate any potential problems with scratches from lifting the playfield or even the errant knuckle print from cleaning the playfield.

I use those too and they work really well. I messed up the art blades on my GOTG, and bought the protectors after and haven't looked back. It's a great product.
Quoted from Cusanus:bigguybbr i use art blades on all my other machines, Star wars will be the first with mirror blades, i dont like the side blades that are for sale, except the ones that come in a pack of 3, but 200$ i think is too much to expend in side blades
That's why I would suggest throwing a wanted ad up and see if anyone is willing to part with their spares. I think a bunch of people are sitting on unused ones.
Quoted from digitaldocc:Did an arcade trade to compliment my SW. Gauntlet is out and Jedi is in.

Very cool!
Wanted to share my results with the club.
My experiment was to have more success hitting all the shots somewhat consistently including my nemesis the hyperspace ramp shot.
Results.
After upgrading to the skeleton precision flippers and dialing each one seperetely I was able to do just that. Most notable is the hyperspace is now possible with a left flipper backhand.
Since then I lost my perfect angle because I didn't tighten the flipper enough. Lesson learned

But the good thing is you can easily re-adjust from the top side.

Yeah it's easy enough. Just have to find the time.
Can anyone confirm flipper overheat power fade is real on SW?
Quoted from digitaldocc:Can anyone confirm flipper overheat power fade is real on SW?
It is not.
Watch out for them city folk with their heat graphs though.
Its funny, for my SW Premium I'm more consistent with right flipper making Hyperloop shot and inconsistently backhand to Hyperloop.
Did you guys increase the power for the left flipper? Usually, I just pass the pinball to the right flipper and slap it in... but there are times when your pressed against the clock I prefer to backhand.
Flipper fade might be an issue for backhanding the hyperspace ramp with standard flippers. Other than that, it's not an issue on Star Wars, all the ramps are shallow enough that even hot flippers hit them easily (including a forehand to the hyperspace ramp, and of course everything on a Pro.)
Heck, you could even argue flipper fade is an advantage since you'd rather have softer rebounds and exits off the 3-bank and u-turn.
Quoted from vikingerik:Flipper fade might be an issue for backhanding the hyperspace ramp with standard flippers.
This is true. Usually occurs about 40 minutes into a session for me but other than that it's all good.
Quoted from Oilrat:Hi All, well finally after two years I am finally back in the club. I have missed this game for a long time and very glad to finally have it back in the lineup . It really is a awesome pin. The family couldn’t be happier.

I want to install Insider Connect in the coin door of my premium. What exactly do I need to purchase to accomplish this?
Quoted from gweempose:I want to install Insider Connect in the coin door of my premium. What exactly do I need to purchase to accomplish this?
You require door mounting plate and Stern IC kit
I got my door mounting plate from Gotfrogs

Thanks! I'm confused because the IC kit on Stern's site says it's for pro models only:

Quoted from gweempose:Thanks! I'm confused because the IC kit on Stern's site says it's for pro models only:
https://shop.sternpinball.com/collections/spare-parts/products/insider-connected-upgrade-kit-pro
The pro kit contains scanner attached to a replacement plastic apron. The premium kit has the scanner attached to the triangular bracket to replace illuminated premium artwork on premium apron
If I recall these cost the same and you would need to remove scanner from either apron or triangular bracket
Quoted from gweempose:Thanks! I'm confused because the IC kit on Stern's site says it's for pro models only:
https://shop.sternpinball.com/collections/spare-parts/products/insider-connected-upgrade-kit-pro
If mounting on the coin door it doesn't matter which apron you get in the IC kit, since you won't be mounting the scanner camera on the Apron anyway. So Pro or Premium IC doesn't matter, they are the same except for the Apron mount.
I 3D printed my coin door mount, but there are commercial options available too. I much prefer the camera off the apron since I go months without using it in my home environment and just use the left flipper button to choose my account. Even if I did have friends (ha!) play it they would only need to scan in the first time.

What's the deal with this one from Pinball Life? I kind of like it, but why does it say it is not compatible with Star Wars?

Sorry, I didn’t purchase mine from PBL. Uncertain why it would not be compatible as I did not experience any problems with my coindoor setup with the Gotfrogs kit

No idea here either why it wouldn't be compatible. I don't recall anything being different about the coin door on my SW Pro compared to my GOTG Pro. Perhaps PBL can explain, that's a curious thing.
Stern has released a special metal IC Apron for SWLE ... at a ridiculous price. I just acquired it from my distributor here in Germany. Probably unobtainium soon...
Hey everybody right now at home I have Godzilla an iron maiden and I was going to get Foo Fighters but I think I’m deciding to get Star Wars premium. Does anyone know where to get a premium Star Wars with low plays or new? What do you guys think or recommend?
Also, I think with this game getting the premium over the pro is definitely worth it for the wire ramps. Is that correct?

I have a prem and I love it inspite it feels let's say a bit "pure" compared to the recent top machines (I put a lot of extra stuff so now it is better ). The pro.. it feels just disapointing how it looks like. So even with the prem features you have a feeling that it is not as packed as nowadays and the pro without the hyperloop... which is an awesome feature.. and with plastic ramps and without the DS feature.. NO for me. otherwise the game is awesome, but needs a little time to understand, but after...! it is totally different form GZ which is kind machine I think. this one is pure Star Wars madness if you have the skills to tame this monster. Sometimes after a ball I'm just blinking my eyes what the hell was that game

I’m die hard Star Wars fan so I think I’m making the right choice over FF.
My distributor might have a premium NIB are they really going for 9499 or whatever the new prices are at ?

Yeah they still sell well even though they have been run a bunch of times. It sounds like the next run got pushed off so it might be some time before they are run again.

SW Premium was my first pin when it was released. Still remains my favorite in the collection because it is so different and crazy fast, but smooth. I think this pin is best for home. Take you lumps, be patient to learn the shots and don’t hesitate to dial it in. There’s a ton of great suggestions in this forum. Getting 3-4 balls in the hyper loop never gets old and ripping 6+ combos remains a rush. First, issue you could face is Death Star rejects; you can adjust the ramp to prevent that. Now hitting that damn shot consistently is all you have to worry about…lol
I’ve decided to get Sw premium over FF pro;
Easy decision now the hard part is finding one ; I should’ve bought Logan pinballs pro with the wire forms a few months back I regret passing on that

Played Star Wars premium at a friends and I decided to definetly get the premium I’m die hard Star Wars fan it has an overall more complete package to me than FF pro; FF shoots ok but not really a big fan of the band ..
Star wars is a win win win win; and I’ll have a mando too on location;
I personally love the layout of Star Wars and how all the shots are long and it’s fast as hell…
Thanks guys I think I’ve made my decision for sure
I know Freddy I know … the main reason I didn’t get it was the shipping and setup scared me away as I’m new to the hobby I’m used to buying NiB locally and distributor brings and sets it up for me automatically…
I’ll start searching for a premium if anyone has more leads let me know !

Premium FTW! You won't be disappointed. As others have said. Take your lumps.
I think the pro and the premium are both great in this one. I do think the Premium is a little tougher to shoot though due to that moving death star ramp. You have to absolutely nail the shot to get it up the ramp.
I believe I'm in the minority for preferring the Pro. I had more time on a Limited and Premium before I decided to buy. I spent a couple days at a venue with several pins I hadn't played before and realized in the end that I had kept returning to the SW Pro and put more time on it than the others combined! I'm not sure I can articulate it well, but although I do think the hyperloop has one of the highest "cool" factors in pinball I came to really prefer the game without it. I enjoy not having the wireform across the playfield and the clean aesthetics of no tunnel through the deathstar but mainly the Pro just feels tangibly smoother to me.
Both versions of this pin are winners in my book. I really do think it's all about personal preference and neither is inferior to the other. I'm actually not a huge SW fan in general, other than being of an age such that one of my first cinema experiences was the release of the original movie and so of course growing up with the franchise as part of the culture. So knowing the characters and story of the original movies I do have enough connection to appreciate how deeply the game integrates the theme but it's mostly the shots and flow that have this one bolted down for me.

Well spoken
I just couldn't get past the art on the Premium (way too Imperial/Dark Side heavy) and the wireform over the playfield. The Pros in general always seem to have the best art in my opinion.

All subjective but I prefer the Imperial look. I still would have bought a Premium for the hyper loop and wireforms. I just wouldn't love it AS much as I do now if it had the rebel look of the Pro. Something for everyone.

You're not alone, I significantly prefer the Pro on Star Wars, and in fact on almost every title. The premium mechanicals (on many games) are cool but often just get in the way and make the game harder.
Also second the other post about preferring Pro artwork. AIQ and SW have the same problem, the premium artwork is too heavy on the bad guys, I want to see the heroes.
So got my Premium today, after being a pro owner I can see the plus points to owning either but I'm very happy with the extras this has, still miss R2 up top so if anyone is selling a topper let me know!
Running through the tests only one issue and thats the death star opens but doesn't close. I've checked the coil isn't binding and the springs that close the death star are there, is it just that the rods that run from the coil to the death star need lube? Anyone else had this issue?
