Mines not the comic art but I think the powder coat I did on mine would look great on any model. It was done by Robert Stone and he called it Infinite Sparkle. Tough to photograph, but you get the idea.

It’s just the back box hinges, side rails, lockdown bar, legs. All of those are easy to buy anywhere. So why not have some fun with it? The key is picking the right color.
All true but honestly what color would fame the Comic Art package better than black?
Question for everyone. I recently picked up a pro model with about 200 plays. I have beaten some of the previous owners scores yet I never get prompted to enter my name or initials. One of the scores should of been the grand champion based on the levels that were set. I went through all adjustments and still cannot get it to prompt me. Any suggestions?

That looks really good! mine is powder coated white and I love it. But man that looks great matching the stars!
Quoted from MaxIsDead:Why Stern did this is beyond me since games before and after have those plastic triangles.
Because Stern cut the cost to produce the machine to a dead minimum. Even the LE doesn't have the typical LE apron. This isn't a "bash Stern" comment to be clear ... from what I heard, the licenses for Star Wars and GotG cost them a fortune ... the fact that Star Wars is basically AC/DC's layout and GotG is Metallica's layout is evidence of this (saves design time).
I will be powder coating my Comic Art Premium like this. It's the same powder that Stern used on BM66LE and SLE. It absolutely does NOT detract the value. Quite the opposite in my opinion. I'll always pay more for a powder coated game.
Pictures taken from this thread --> https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/i-can-powder-coat-your-pinball-armor-for-29500-plus-return-shipping?tq=star+wars&tu=
To date that is the only powder coated Comic that looks good. The rails have been replaced and it is a different variation of black. At today’s prices it would cost $500 to pull that off factoring in the rails. The game is already power coated black (not as fancy but black). I am all for something like that but I don’t think It will increase the value of the game as much as was put into it. It’s like a forward pass in football. Three things can happen and only one is good.
I have the R2 topper too and honestly that tan metal housing could use a good powder coat color too, but naturally I am to scared to touch that thing
Quoted from Schaitas:Has anybody been able to install insider connected on a Premium Comic Art? If so... which model/kit.. and how did you do it?
Just added to my pro. So far so good. Ran the cable to the backbox. Wireless didnt work on first bootup not sure why.. but I moved it to the left slot and it worked.

Quoted from mayo:Nice, where did you get this trooper ?
Ebay.
Hot wheels starship speeder bike.
Most of them are the white ones. I found this guy and plucked it. I am not a fan of mods from the wrong era/movies.
I also got a red 5, red 3, and a red 2 x wing intentionally so they weren't all red 5 and are also era appropriate. 4 blue tie fighter, and a snowspeeder.
The new x wings are easier to find, but not of the right timeline.
Problem is I'm having a hard time deciding where to put them all
Does anyone have this? If so what do you think of it? Totally worth it? Not really?
The clear targets are extinct so not sure how it'll do on black. Clear targets would have been a no brainer. Now, not sure....

I have the kit with the clear targets. Wouldn’t call it earth-shattering but looks nice. Don’t have any pics of it and my game is out on a temp loan to a fellow collector.

I never used the headphone jack so I switched to this: https://www.pinballlife.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PBL-100-0062-00
Another bonus is that it is not an obvious knob for kids to mess with.

Except you don’t have the headphone connection. I have and use the headphone connection on all my games. The OP’s question is still valid.
I have seen some attach the QR reader to the bottom of the backbox. My concern with that is reach.

I 3D printed my coinbox camera plate and although I do have a headphone/volume kit I've never installed it. It looks to me like there is easily enough space on the plate for the jack and volume pot under the camera, definitely doable with 3D printing and possibly doable on the metal plate kits by just carefully positioning where to drill the holes.

so - I would need to buy the Premium Insider Connected kit.. right?
Quoted from Schaitas:Question has anyone had a problem with SW Premium crashing repeatedly? It happened several times, 3 times while on Hyperspace MB for some reason... any ideas what it could be? It happened on the previous code and again with the newest one.
So.. I guess I am the only one with a SW Prem that crashes? Anyone has any ideas what it could be?

Do you have a shaker motor? How old is your SW premium? Mine crashed on occasion prior to installing this:

Got some of them on there tonight. 2 ties and 2 x wings left. Not sure there's room in the premium and it already came.with the world mods.
Wondering about 3d printing mounting rings for the Hyperloop. Let them ride that.
Also, complete titan kit with clears and LOW BOUNCE flipper rubbers. A WORLD of difference. It's actually controllable now and can really play the game. Made it even better!

Yeah I have my X-wing on approach to the death star via the Hyperloop. I modified the worlds bracket to snap into the hot wheels vehicles just like the included bracket. If you want the STL, let me know.

Its a Comic Art Premium. Not sure the year. I bought used with the shaker alrrady installed. I will check to make sure the shaker is original Stern. I have Stern shakers in 5 other pins and never had an issue

None of the "Comic" games had factory installed shakers. Make sure that capacitor is installed. Not having can cause resets.

Zitt said they will never make any more because of quality issues. He said the supplier was in Europe (Germany maybe) and that the second batch went bad with a different material and they won't ever do them again.
So it's up to us to figure it out....
Quoted from Ecw0930:This is great! Thank you!
No problem, I updated the thingiverse file now to include the tip as a separate STL file in case anyone wants to rotate/tilt the mount... I've had mine mounted for about a year now with no problems, and the tip seemed to grab all of the SW style Hotwheels I had here.

Little tinkering and it came out perfect. Excited to get the angles and see how they look!

The Hot Wheels Starships do work great, but you have to knock down that new ship shine or they kind of stick out. Wash them with a weak black paint / water solution and put some miles on them. The results are much better.
red5 (resized).jpgDoes anyone have a rough ballpark value for a Star Wars Comic Pro? I am interested in buying or trading for one. Not many have been sold recently so trying to gauge what a fair price would be.
Quoted from Palmer:Does anyone have a rough ballpark value for a Star Wars Comic Pro? I am interested in buying or trading for one. Not many have been sold recently so trying to gauge what a fair price would be.
$6500 - $7000 but you are paying for the art (which is better in my opinion). The premium is a better game and the standard edition could be had for $1000 more. The Comic Premiums are in high demand and going for 10k plus.
Quoted from Ashram56:Hi everyone,
Quick question: I wanted to print the Pinworld mods available on Thingiverse (hats off to them for providing the models by the way, this is really super super nice of them, quite a gesture of support to the community)
Turns out that there are two cannons models, one for the Pro, one for the LE. But the LE seems to be missing the back half of the cannon, whereas the Pro is complete, and I can't figure out why ? Since I own a Premium, my understanding I would need the LE version
Can someone who owns the Pinworld mod on a Premium/LE show me how it's installed ?
Thanks !
Sorry - I am afraid I sold my SW and haven't been checking the club thread lately. It looks like it's been answered but the PREMIUM/LE version of the ion cannon had to be trimmed to allow space for the magnet cover for the hyperloop.
