Here's one for you tech.guys-If you ever lose the LED board #520-5322-00E,this piece is used to control about 12 led lights on the play field of a Pre model! This board was coded specially for this pin alone!! If you have to replace it,you have to order #520-5322-20! They are just now coming to stock at Marco's! This was a generic board used by a few other pins that have the ability to code their boards on startup-ST Pre does not do this!!! The SLE does, and so does the Pro,but not the Pre model! This board controls the lights on the Vengeance, the 3 beam -me -up- lights- 3 weapons power lights on right side, and the E-K lights right side drain lanes, and the 1 light on the ST symbol over the warp ramp ! The replacement board they HAVE been selling is # 520-5322-00,no code,so be aware of this little glitch!!

really!? I thought all the part #'s for LE and premiums were the same. is this listed in the manual with an asterisk, or do you just have to know this?

So what's the solution if the premium version does not automatically write the code to the board? How do you get the code on the board? Assuming a person has purchased the -20 board.

I checked that part # via marco, says its out of stock. Guess I'll have to get one from the distro.

I would think it's already coded on the board, hints the -20 in the part number. Just guessing though

At just over 28k plays it just doesn't play well enough to keep on Route. We are pulling it to do its annual shop. We are going to fix it up really nice and bring it back in a few months! We swapped it out with our newest addition. The 1995 version of star trek!!!

its different because the Premium / LE has RGB leds.

right, but the post said the LE and premium used a different board.

#407 2 years ago

ouch with the STTNG on route ! i think you'll get more probs with this one than the STERN... lets see these few monthes

anyway, still nice post to follow, tanx for letting us know

Sorry my bad, I find that incredible given the PRE and LE run the same code.

Yeah, I know the LE has the lights on the side but other then that. I'm almost 100% they are the exact same as far as board use.

Got it almost all done and ready to put back on Route.

- Flippers rebuilt
-2 leds added, one in outhole and one on the right side near the third flipper
- fixed the broken screw on the left side in lane plastic
- added those sweet little wire forms in the spot lights so they don't fall out
- tightened all loose bulbs
- cleaned all inserts so they are Clear again!
- adjusted all pop bumper switches so they rock again
- just had to reflow the warp ramp opto and it's all it needed!
- waxed it up and replaced a few rubbers

Going back on Route in 10 days but I gotta play tbe heck out of it first.

The last picture is the gam all cleaned up and ready for route!!!

#414 2 years ago

Sorry I didn't get back to you guys sooner,Vacation!!! OK,So,the ST LE and the ST Pro both code the boards!! The Pre does not!! SO,if you get the board with the 20 at the end,its already been coded by Stern!! Call Chas,or go through Marco> he will order it for you!!!! $195.00!! Takes a few weeks to get Stern off their asses!!

#416 2 years ago

Why didn't you put lane switch protectors on?

#417 2 years ago

That was fast! Glad it's back!!!!

Where do u get those "sweet little wireforms" so the the Led's dont fall outta the spot lights?????

#419 2 years ago
Quoted from Zitt:

:tear: still no popcaps.

Never will

Quoted from MustangPaul:

I did on the left side but it wouldn't stick in and the ball would get stuck too often. The right side still holding up. I should order a new set

Why would you expect an OP to put $100 pop caps on a pin for route? Just seems crazy to me.

Well, as an Op (and I am one) if you've made money, and it improves the game, why TF not?
Now if the Op doesn't like it, different story, sometimes.
But $100 re-investment to a universally liked mod shouldn't be blown off, just because it's a route game.
People pay, give them quality.

STTNG might be the greatest game ever made, so your customers should be happy

I mod several of my games... I just don't care for that one! I know they pay so I try to make my game as fun as possible and play as close to perfection as I can get!

I can't find the "Sweet little (spotlight) wireforms" on Marco's site. What exactly are they called?
Thanks in advance.

I think this is the right link...

Electrical tape around the base of the bulb fixes the problem for a fraction of a penny each bulb and the install is cleaner. They'll never come out again by themselves once this is done:

Not bad considering how many thousands of plays it has on it. I wish all Operators cared as much as you. Quick question...Is there supposed to be a protector around the drop target by the ship? Looks like something broke off in the back. High traffic area I would guess.

Yes it's a cliffy protector. It's about broken off so I'll have to get a new one soon

Lane switch protectors? Is there such a thing? I use 3M vinyl to make custom shooter lane protectors and this is intriguing.

All the arcade machines at EightyOne are operated by the owner. He's a great guy.

No idea. It had been reset before we bought it. Only says like 63 right now.

Curious to see if it gets as many plays. I’d it priced the same or less than ST?

Nope just 50 cents. It's not as desirable as the others.

Do you have the carpet-munching minigame ROM in it? That's good for a laugh, but they took it out before the last ROM.

Im not sure. I bought it and out it on Route same day. I haven't had any time to play it!

You need the version with the carpet munching minigame to find out if cartman "is a lesbian." <- he says something like that.

28,624 plays. Should hit 30k by the end of the year.

Only a dirty opto on the warp ramp again. Gave it a quick wax and all is well.

Actually it's having that stupid warp ramp isulsue even after I clean it. I bent the prongs in the board to hopefully make better contact. It's working for now hopefully it doesn't happen again.
