The hole that the magnet goes into isn't flush on my Star Trek. I used to have a Cliffy protector under there, and I tried to get the magnet as flush as possible, but it eventually came off, and the game has been played a bit without it. This looks like it's had the result of pushing up a sort of "lip", so even if the magnet was flush with the rest of the hole, that lip would still interfere with the velocity of the ball, which causes an anemic kick-out.
Let's assume that I'm able to grind the magnet slug down and make it all level. How would I go about flattening out the little "lip" that appears to have formed?
