I just did the twist on each of the 4 pairs. First game, first shot on the captured ball and the 2nd ball hung on the magnet until the clock ran out like so many times before. Hoping for at least better performance. I'll try a different route for the wires as well.

I had a near 100% failure of the captured ball to release. The optos always tested fine in the switch test. I tried twisting the wires, relocating the wires around the magnet, twisting the wires more, adding ferrites etc. without much success. I swapped the optos controller boards several weeks ago, and the problem has completely resolved. I would definitely give that a try if you are still having problems. 8 screws and the problem is fixed. The game is so much more enjoyable without that problem. I hope it lasts.
