I have a local Stern Star Trek that I like to play, but I'm not sure about the behavior of the magnet behind the drop target. When the target is down, it seems like the magnet doesn't always hold the ball. When doing a standard Lock, the ball goes in under the Vengeance and the drop target comes back up. The ball then kind of just sits up against target until it drops, which then causes the ball to lazily dribble out from behind it. Is this normal? There are times when the magnet is totally negaged and holds a ball nice and steady (such as during Vengeance Multiball), so I'm pretty sure the magnet is capable of firing. I'm just wondering if there's some kind of issue in the game that causes it to not enegerize all the times it's supposed to.
Anyone have a breakdown of what situations cause the magnet to engage?
