OK. So I was able to get this done. It took a little longer than I was hoping, but now I have the songs prepared for the next time around I suppose.

Two Notes from my install:
1. Don't name the output file longer than eight characters (XXXXXXXX.bin)
2. When I went to load the ROM in the machine I chose to "verify image" like I always do and it rebooted the machine. I tried it again with verify off and it loaded fine.

The music is much improved although I might have to play with the levels now in the setting to hear them a little better.

Quoted from markmon:

1) The free version of Acid xpress does not allow for saving as a .wav. You have to save as mp3 and only 128kbit. But that works fine for this purpose. So step #6c had to be saved as 128kbit mp3. Then step #6e is open mp3 file.

just noticed that. Not sure how I missed that part. My dumb ass brain must be in today vs my intellectual one Trying again now. Hopefully I can get this to work.

Take your time. You can do it and it is worth it. Once it is done, you will also have all the files ready for the inevitable software revision to come and it will be a lot easier the second time.

Anyone try this yet on 1.60?!!

The songs seem to have changed. This does not line up with the new code. Will need to see if we can remap to the new bookmarks. For now enjoy some of the new stuff that seems to have been added or changed.

This is definitely way, way better than the other version that was floating around last year.

Quoted from Ericc123:

I don't think anyone ever answered this question. I'm buying a pre-owned Pro from another Pinsider that already has the music on it, and while I'm sure I will love the soundtrack and keep it as is, would it be hard to revert back to normal?

Very easy to go back. Just get the factory software from the Stern website and load it on your machine. The music is part of the game software. In the old days (90s) the music was on separate ROMs on the sound board, but things are much simpler now.

Quoted from BaggerVance:

I'm still confused on where to dump this music. Which setting is it under? USB?

Are you trying to load the file with the music into your machine? If so, it is the same process as updating software. That is essentially what you are doing since the new music has been embedded into the original Stern software file.
