I haven't chimed in about the new Stern Star Trek yet so her it goes.
I am an old school Trekie. I watched TOS live on TV first run in the 60's
I love all of the Star Trek series and movies even though I am not a JJ Abrams fan I realize time goes on and the new movies are what they are, a new beginning for Star Trek so I have warmed up to the new movies.
I have all 3 of the current Star Trek pinball machines and I have Sterns new Star Trek LE on deposit.
I have seen Sterns Star Trek teaser video and read everything posted on the subject I could find so far.
First impressions are important but I don't think we have seen enough so far to pass judgement yet.
I will say if this game does not have an LCD display I will be very disappointed as that was the one thing I was hoping for.
I am sure the game play will be great and I can only hope the music and sound will also be great with real voices from the actors and the Star Trek music sound track.
The playfield graphics if the video really shows the true playfield is very disappointing from the color to the design or should I say the lack of. Why are their no pictures of the actors on the playfield or plastics?
What's with the DMD speaker box. They all 3 look like crap and what's with the LE panel and that cheap 1950's looking metal tag which you would see on old power tools and electronic equipment.
No something's fishy. Could Stern be teasing us and hiding the real pictures.
With the lack of anything on the playfield could this mean it will have an LCD monitor as well as a DMD display to show full color video clips. It's the only way I see they can justify the crazy 8 K price tag everyone is talking about.
Please Please have an LCD display, Please.

I still want an LCD with video

I see it only lists 4 pinballs, good or bad?

Quoted from Jared:

Confirmed dealer MSRP prices.
Pro Version: $5,395
Premium Version: $7,495
Limited Edition Version: $8,795

Already got the price email from my distributor .Prices includes residential lift gate delivery to your curb anywhere in the continental USA.
That's a lot of dough for no LCD.
Star Trek LE $7895.00
Star Trek Prem $6500.00
Star Trek Pro $4800.00

Wonder when we will see some video of the game in play?

Animated Playfield Laser Starfield Projector = mini disco ball and a couple of spotlights.

#987 10 years ago

Wonder if the LE will come with invisiglass. That could be a plus.

Quoted from VolunteerPin:

Here is what I just received from my distributor. I imaging a lot of other pre-order folks have gotten something similar:
Details are out.

Here is what you have in your shopping cart.
LE - 7900 shipped
Premium - 6500 shipped
Pro - 4800 shipped
If you are shipping with a group let me know and I will get a better rate.
You have until midnight on Sept 18th to get me paid in full if you want an LE. At that point I will start distributing the games in the order that your
deposit came in.
Check is fine. Paypal and Credit card have a 4% fee.
If you want a Premium there isn't much hurry. If you want a Pro I would also pay as soon as you can because we will start shipping soon.
I don't know the shipping dates of the LE and Premium yet.
I think it is interesting that the Pro is shipping pretty soon it sounds like (though I'm not buying one.)

My Distributor has said nothing about when the game will ship just we have 48 hours to send another 1K deposit making a total of 2K which is non refundable and sent to Stern to hold the machine and the remainder will be due shortly before the game ships. I was under the impression we would not see the game till the end of the year. I was hoping we could see video of the game being played before we had to commit to buy it.

Quoted from Baiter:

Stern Marketing: laser starfield
Final Product: black plastic ball with pinholes and an LED in the center to light it up.

Could the Laser Starfield Projector be something like the MicroVision Portable Laser Pocket Projector.
How cool would that be.

What we will provably get is this.

Marketing team is back from holiday I guess
What does everyone think of the sounds that you could hear in that 10sec video?

New video Not very inspiring at all. Another let down.
I have been wondering, not knowing anything about Sterns current system (SAM) is that system capable of controlling these new 60 color changer LED's or could the big surprise be the new system after all and Stern is really pulling one over on us.

If your a complete idiot for buying a STLE then I am one too but I think it's safe to say we are not alone.
Seems a bunch of us is on that boat, I just hope it's not the RMS Titanic of pinball. We all know how that ended.
