Hey guys, I have a Stern Stampede with electronic sound. Everywhere I look for a Stern Stamped, it shows this game without the electronic sound and with chimes/bells. I'm curious how many actually had electronic sound, and it appears to be made this way because it has a decal in the back part of the PF that says "Electronic sound" The sound board is crap and I am trying to find schematics. Does anyone have any insight?

Could be a WICO Electronic Sound Board Conversion. They added chimes to some chime games to make it seem more modern

If you could post a pic of the sound board, we could verify Cheddar s theory...which I think will be correct.

Any idea where to get schematics?

That's a WICO all right. Would have been nice if they had printed the name on it

If you really want to repair that board, I'd focus on the electrolytic caps and those two POTs.
The other parts, resistors, 3X 4N25 optocouplers (interfaces to EM voltage), 2X LM3900 amps, and one TBA820 amplifier, are still available, but chances of failure is, IMHO, much less than the caps and the POTs.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna tackle this after the MGC. I have to get a few other games ready first.

Chris, I'll take your advice and Target the caps and pots first. I have several 3900's so I'll probably replace them too.

If I get it up and running, I'll post a video.
