Hello Pinheads,
I have a loud noise on the right flipper(s), in my case a StarTrek. First I thought it was due to the fact that right=x2 but it’s probably not. I found 1 coil stop being loose, replaced it but still a LOT of noise from the right where the left flipper is really quiet. LTG recommended filing the coils stop and or plunger or so...?
ST is really the only machine I own with this problem, although my B/W machines are more silent compared to the Stern ones.
Has anyone done anything to their stern flipper to reduce the noise with success?
Any advice is welcome  Thanks!

I would first just try swapping the stop with the left side.

Done that as well.. no result.

Lift the playfield, close the coin door, hold the flipper button and (carefully) grab the coil but not the lugs. Feel it shake like crazy? That's the problem. Okay you don't have to grab the coil, just showing you the problem. Work on adjusting the fit of the coil against the coil stop to prevent the vibration. All Stern coils vibrate some because they pulse the power to simulate a hold coil. My upper flipper on ST was extremely loud when it was new but I was able to do this and now it's relatively quiet, same as the other two.
