    Hi team.

    Had a strange one with a Stern Solenoid Driver Board. (Rev C)

    Had been working 100% for the 3 years I’ve had the machine. Today - all coils dead. Including flippers.

    Checked all the usual suspects - fuses, wiring, rectifier, connectors etc etc. reflowed the connectors just in case (a bit dull). No change - Finally swapped in another Rev C SDB from another pin, and machine ran 100%.

    Swapped bad board into the donor machine - same result. All coils dead.

    So, we have narrowed it down to the board.

    Voltages from SDB in the donor pin:

    Solenoid Driver/Voltage Regulator board:
    * TP1 = +5 vdc. 5.0.
    * TP2 = +190 vdc. 175.
    * TP3 = +5 vdc. 0
    * TP4 = +230 vdc. 245-250 (fluctuating)
    * TP5 = +11.9 vdc. 15.8
    Tp6. 0.
    Tp7. 0.
    Tp8. Ground

    So - no 5v at TP3. I’m not sure what 6 and 7 should read - they’re not noted anywhere ...

    Any ideas?

    TIA!

    TP1 and TP3 should both be 5v... have you done the solenoid board upgrades mentioned on the Pinwiki site? https://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bally/Stern#Solenoid_Driver_Upgrades

    Check your connection in the area marked in red, and like was stated above, tie TP1 and TP3 together. Sounds like J3 needs to be repinned

    Cool, yes I had read about tying TP1 and 3 together.

    I’ll give that a shot in the weekend and report back.

    If you do that, along with the other suggested upgrades and it fixes it, I would still repin the male and female part of J3. If one or two pins got a poor connection like that, who knows if the other ones are likely to follow.
