Stern Spike 2 Sound: Discrete cabinet channel?

Hey folks. In a recent support conversation with Stern, they said the backbox speakers and cabinet speakers are on separate amps, separate channels. The implication is that for at least Spike 2, the cabinet speaker has it's own discrete channel, which would eliminate the desire to throw a crossover on it.

Can anyone confirm this? What do we know about the sound outputs of SAM, Spike and Spike 2 games? I know late WPC games had a sub/cabinet channel.
