The single drop target on my GoT Pre. Works inconsistently; it always lifts up but it won't always stay up.

Besides stretching the spring on the back to help hold it in place, is there any tips or pointers to help make it work better?

It looks like the target isn't catching on the lip that it rests on in the up position.

Is the target bent out of shape ? Lifting up high enough ?

I don't think that the target is bent out of shape, and I'm pretty sure that it's lifting up far enough because it will occasionally work. It really looks like there's not enough force to hold it back onto the shelf.

Is the whole assembly bracket bent back a bit so the target doesn't always catch ? Easy to bend it a little and see.

I tried to bend the bracket, but didn't notice an improvement.

There is a spring and flat washer (red arrow on left) through the middle of the target that looks to apply the force needed to get the target onto the ledge, but I think the problem might also be the ledge. You can't see well in this picture, but there's not a lot for the target to sit on when pushed up. That first picture I took is not the best either.

I might try a stronger spring on it, but otherwise I'm kinda lost.

I pulled it apart tonight and think I've solved my problem. I stretched out the spring and added another washer to give it more force on the back of the drop target. IMG_2597 (resized).JPGIMG_2597 (resized).JPG

But there's really not much for the target ot sit on. The "ledge" that the target rests on is a wafer thin piece of plastic with a slight bend in the middle. IMG_2598 (resized).JPGIMG_2598 (resized).JPG
The apex of the bend just so happens to be in the same spot as the cut out on the drop target. IMG_2601 (resized).JPGIMG_2601 (resized).JPG

I'm sure this has been rigorously tested but it just seems flimsy to me. (But I'm not a pinball engineer) here's another shot from the top of the Playfield, you can see how thin the plastic strip is.IMG_2600 (resized).JPGIMG_2600 (resized).JPG

So far the drop target has worked 100% since I put it back together, but if I notice more issues I'll post it here.

Let me know if you think there's a better way to solve this problem.

I'm having this same issue on my deadpool. One target in the bank rarely stays up. The weird thing is, if I manually raise the targets with my hand, they all stay up every time. When the coil moves them up, one target won't stay. If they're raised, and the coil raises the platform, the same target usually falls back down. I've tried adding a washer with limited success. And there really isn't room to add another. I'm assuming there's not enough force pushing forward for the target to grab the ledge, I'm just not sure how to add enough force. This doesn't seem like a common issue.
