In a way it seems they do. They release a pin with code that isn't up to par much like apple releasing phones with software glitches.

Quality control will never be upto par as long as china manufacturers them! Its a shame to see everything being produced there. Our government needs to do something to bring production back to the USA!

While I understand what you are saying.. Apple and Stern are making very different products. A pinball a Tons of Moving parts a far more hard ware items to control then say an Iphone or Ipad does.

Also Stern is Made in USA

All software has glitches. Relatively speaking, most consumers think Apple's products are pretty robust. Millions of people have switched from Windows to Mac OS for just this reason. Apple updates their system often and the updates rarely cause regressions.

I don't see Stern quality improving dramatically until they have competition. For quite awhile, they've been the only game in town and this has caused them to get complacent. Over the past 5 years or so, the quality of the games have suffered dramatically.

If/when Apple's software becomes more buggy than the competitions, they will loose customers. At the moment, I still think most customers are very satisfied with the quality of the platform and the apps.
