Despite reading what is frequently cited as the place to start if you're confused about Stern shaker motor controller boards (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/official-tron-lovefest-thread-i-love-it-more-than-lamp/page/19?bb_attachments=1141464&bbat=137203), I find I still need help.
I have what appears to be a generic REV-B board for my SAM game. My game's build date is March of this year and its harness has a grounding connector near the shaker's perch. My board has no socket to accept this connector, although it does have a spot marked "J3." (See photo)
Can I use this board and leave the connector free? Or must I buy a proper Stern board? I believe this shaker comes from Pinball Life.
