Can I take a shaker from Star Trek and install it in a new MMR standard?
I recently purchased an aftermarket shaker motor from Pinball Life for the Stern Spike system and installed it in my MMR (Product ID : PBL-100-0020-00) Works like a champ!
If you want to do this at your own risk, here are some basic instructions:
-Turn the machine off
-The connectors are different but easily modified (cut, solider, crimp connector, etc...).
-MMR has a connector coming from the power supply that has 2 wires, a Blue wire and Yellow/Red wire.
-The Shaker motor has a Blue wire and a Red wire.
-Connect the two Blue wires together
-Connect the Yellow/Red to the Red wire.
-Mount the shaker motor (the holes and the provided screws match up as well)
-Install the shaker motor cover
-Turn the game on
-Run the Shaker test (instructions to enter the shaker motor test area are in the manual or online)
-Enjoy!
No kidding,I would think you could take some pics for other to see and follow your foot steps?
-Mike
Quoted from bkaelin:Any way to use a Stern shaker from SAM system?
I thought I read on here (pinside) that someone tried that and it ended up bad for them. Don't recall details... but they are different for a reason.

also the power plugs don't fit on a sam shaker attempted to put inside a spike system.
