Quoted from Aurich:Sure, I hear you. Jody himself said it was an LCD at CES, and then walked that comment back. Who the hell knows, it sounds like Stern isn't even sure. Maybe they aren't, beats me.
But the GB art leaked pretty badly. I feel like everyone and their mother has seen it. I go to shows and people are passing it around on their phones. Been that way since Expo. I'd never post it here on Pinside, that's a crappy move, but it seems pointless to pretend that a ton of people haven't seen it already. Whitewood leaked, all sorts of things came out this one, more than any game I can remember from Stern.
Both the Pro and LE have the same cast members on the sketches. So leaving aside the absurd idea of mixing two films, which only came from one game (WWE) trying that, I just don't understand why anyone is clinging to it.
Do you really think that they're going to put a Stay Puffed toy on one game, and mold an entirely different toy for the other? Do you know who the villain is in the new film? I doubt Stern does.
My only point bringing up Ghostbusters at all was to say that I'm not mad they're making a pin around an old movie. It's a good theme. I was trying to say "all old things are not bad". I just want more modern stuff too. Frankly I want more original stuff. If Stern does Jurassic World I'm not going to cheer that it's a new movie or anything.
Maybe that's just me, and only my opinion. But I miss the days when companies would make both licensed and unlicensed pins in the same year.
8 out of 9 of their last pins are based on much newer or current IP.
