I just picked up a Stern Playboy last night,
VERY underrated machine, I'm loving it! Its just "fun" its not deep, the rules are easy, Its simply a really fun machine,

Geeky trivia..., When asked which pin he regretted producing, Gary picked Playboy. He said it was the one pin that Stern made that his daughter refused to play.
Yikes $60 for a few plastic toys!
I like them and think they would fit the pin but a bit pricey, Then again I've seen all Anime stuff usually is,
and really to anyone who judges a Playboy pin too quick, Play one, Its totally consumed me since I picked it up,
Does anyone have an extra set of the girl cards as I only have one set? Or possibly the owners manual?
Anyone else have Playboy mods?
Gonna pink LED this machine out, few other little things, Like to see some ideas fore this rare pin
Lots of options and mods. Here's some pics of mine. Gold Trim Kit changes the whole look. Plan on doing the coin door in gold too when I have more funds. Speaker inserts. LED's shine well. Mirror Blades. Must have is the alternate translight. I would've sold my game if I had to keep that pathetic original Stern Hefner version!-Joe
Wow what a difference,
I hadn't intended to keep this Playboy but after playing it I really love it,
I'm just debating should I throw all that $$ into it for mods, All that gold/brass trim add's up quick
Keepin' it classy! Looks good. I still haven't played a Stern Playboy, but would like to someday. It does seem like it would be a fun game to mod.

I found it before, with the last thread that had the AC/DC mods. There were only $18 a set too.

No wonder I couldn't find them, Had no idea what to search for,
these might be that nice finishing touch for this pin,
usually if I don't know what i'm looking for, i'll type a description in google and look in the images. find a pic of the item I saw and follow the links until I get a name. I was thinking on grabing a set of these for misc projects, but ended up seeing some other stuff in the search process and now i'm on a whole another tangent for a custom pin.

I am a fan of that statue. I like the colors and airbrush work on it, but I have enough with the queens blade stuff.

7 years later, but I think I can add to the post since I bought OP’s Playboy pin 
Ended up playing one on location and falling in love with the action/flow; such a fun-simple shooter and knew I had to get one.
So the next day… got a really nice one off a reply to my pinside wanted ad here (OPs!) and was shocked/ready to see The One being offered for sale, due to all the legendary custom work on it. Things in MINT condition and one of the prettiest pins I’ve ever seen.
However, didn’t care for the 3D female anime model-mods, but liked where he was going with the idea and decided on putting in some flexible realistic mods instead.
Never thought I’d be assembling together dolls, and dressing them, lmao - but it’s been fun being creative. As for vibes, going for suggestive/provocative, while showing no tits and bits (gotta play pinball for that!) 
To do this yourself, search flexible 1/6 (topper) or 1/12 (under glass) dolls on Amazon. HiPlay and Phicen seem to be the two main manufactures. Just be prepared, it’s a bitch to dress and pose and adhere these things, as one of these three always goes wrong when you’re addressing one of the other two.
Got two more 1/6’s coming, just take forever from China. Will add one, maybe two but that might be “too full” up on the topper. One will be in the PB Bunny suit, behind the topper, twisting and looking backwards. Will look to post a pic when that’s complete.

I can't believe he sold it! I bought another pin from him and was admiring it. I have one as well. Very underrated pin in my opinion. Could this become the official Stern Playboy thread? I haven't seen one here.

I could not believe it was THAT pin when the reply to wanted ad came through - sold the instant I saw it!

I've been through the test menu, tests 19 to 21 and test 23 are 'drop screen stepper' tests, but when I select 'run' there is no response on the machine, except the sound clip that acknowledges the press of yhe run button... is this normal, or does it mean I have a problem with the drop screen?
Also, to the right of the drop screen I have a lady who appears to be floating naked in a pool if water... this is clearly one of the adjustments to the pictorial artworks added by the previous owner... what should actually be here? Behind it is a mirror.

The manual will show you all the picture options that came with the machine. There were 3 sets of pictures.....clean, a little dirty, and a little more dirty (by US standards back in 2002). The picture will be behind the mirror. There are 4 lights behind it that will light up and only then is the picture visible. You have to earn the picture show during game play!

Finally, tests 31 and 32 are about the centerfold... when I run 31, the centerfold twitches down slightly on the front right corner, and 32 causes a clicking sound, but no visual response on the top of the playfield... is this how these tests play out on a healthy game? I'd love to see what delights the previous owner swapped the centerfold images for, but at the moment, can't seem to get it to open... probably should play the game and do it that way! Game's not on its legs though and therefore at the wrong angle for playing... ball rolls backwards!

Yes, all those have long gone in my game... I've just got magazine cut-outs stuck on very warped plastic sheets using double sided tape!

I haven't tried the test but does it work in game play when you get centerfold mutliball?
