For what Stern charges for their recent LE's and considering what you get over a premium (not much) it should be included at no extra charge.

The unique cabinet artwork means little on an LE in my opinion, as the pro and premium use decals for cabinet artwork as well. For $1500 more people get mirrored backglass, side armor, and a tiny LE plaque that is pretty cheesy on an $8k pinball machine. So yes, Stern should include these aftermarket toppers with all LE's.

Stern is pricing their LE's at JJP levels and then not backing the games up with similar level of features. Can't blame them though for doing it as enough people are willing to pay $8k for a Stern LE.

Imagine if Ford all of a sudden decided to charge $50k for a basic Mustang GT since GM charges that for the Corvette and didn't add anything to the vehicle to justify the price increase. Yeah, that wouldn't fly but Stern gets away with it.

I enjoy Stern games, they look and play great but the company has lost their mind charging $8k for an LE that lacks a color display, uses a basic powder coat, doesn't have a real backglass, code updates can take 6+ months, etc.

With each new release Stern continues to see how much they can remove from an LE to increase their profits. Eventually people will (hopefully) say enough is enough and demand more.

For $8k a Stern LE with a DMD and not a real backglass should come with the topper and their green afternarket armor.
