Making a trade and seller realized the sub woofer on the stern star trek is not working. Thoughts I what I need to check as I've never seen this before. Game is mint condition. Any help as he's here right now!

any thoughts? Rather not walk away from the deal but never seen sub not work before in new stern

I think amp might be blown. Could be what happened here:

Here's the question - can I swap my MET pro sound board with ST pro to see if it's the amp?

Yes, The amp is part of the sound board. If your swap boards and get sound, that will tell you it is a bad sound board.

anyway to just connect my external sub to the machine and bypass the cabinet sub until the amp is replaced? Or is the amp required even for JUST my external?

Depends on how you're connecting. Are you matching the expected impedance of the factory load on the components? Is the blown amp passing the signal without modification or is it completely dead? Are you using a dedicated sub output, line level output with a crossover, or maybe something else?

I connect usually connect the external directly to the subwoofer so that's not going to work until the amp is fixed.
