Picked the machine up locally roughly a year ago. Was playable but had drop target issues and the playfield was rough. Went through the entire machine and took care of all the mechanical issues as well as replaced what needed replaced (drop targets, pop bumper cap, full new plastics kit, etc). Someone installed the incorrect spinner assembly along with a support post that originally was not there. I could not find the proper original spinner assembly, so I just left it the way it was. After getting a munch of play, the areas of the playfield that I had touched up originally began disintegrating at an accelerated rate as well as a bunch of other areas. Fast forward to last week and I decided to just replace the entire playfield. This was my 3rd full swap. Having no life, now wife, and no kids (that I know of) pays off sometimes because I can do things like this in just a few days. Of course, the older machines like this aren't too difficult. The only stumbling block was that I decided to go with the Yoppsicles. They have the + and - backwards on the silkscreen. They have the - marked as + and the + marked as -. So I ended up wiring all of them backwards. Corrected the error with minimal effort (had to flip a couple around) but all I needed to do was just swap the wires/grounds on the rest. All good after that. Here's a list of the work...

-) New CPR Playfield
-) New flipper, kicker, and drop target coils
-) Flipper rebuild on both flippers
-) Full Yoppsicle replacement for all insert lights
-) New pop bumper skirt (original was broken/cracked)
-) New 8 Ball plunger rod (couldn't find a 9 ball one)
-) All new red posts with the associated plastic protectors
-) Complete rubber kit
-) Adjusted the main drop targets to help prevent them from dropping at the beginning of each ball. I found a bolt backwards on the assembly that was causing the reset bar to not go up completely which was preventing the targets from resetting properly. Works much better now. Still get the errant drop after they reset, but it's much less often now.
-) Adjusted the wire form ball guides for PERFECT transistor to the flippers
-) New balls
-) Complete clean and polish of the new playfield
-) Complete testing and operation check
-) Was able to install the spinner bracket in a way that allows it to work the way it's supposed to without ruining the new playfield by installing a post to secure like someone had done in the past. Now sure how well it will hold up because if the arm takes a direct hit, it will bend/move or maybe something worse. Actively looking for alternatives but for now, it works as it's supposed to.
-) All drop target assemblies cleaned, rebuilt, adjusted, and targets replaced back when I first got the machine
-) Full new plastics kit, also installed back when I first got the machine
-) A few other things that I can't remember but a lot of the work that would have needed to be done during this endeavor was previously done when I got the machine last summer

The machine is 100% operational and as far as I could tell, there are no issues. Still need to install the replacement/upgraded ROM but otherwise, it's basically a brand new machine. Thanks for looking.

Great work and thanks for posting all your photos. These kinds of things are super helpful to me personally when I get around to doing projects, which I have a Nine Ball in queue. I can help with the correct single drop target and possibly the long-arm spinner if you’re interested, PM me.

Here's a very brief detail on how to remake the longer arm spinner -- https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/is-there-a-way-to-add-wire-on-spinner#post-6038811

It's very doable. I've made one so far but making more got put to the wayside for other projects.

If you want the wider drop target, I have some used ones.

Thank you. Where did you get the longer arm?

You have to fabricate it yourself. I'll try to remember look at what the correct gauge of wire is. It took me quite a few trial and error of ordering the correct diameter.

I made a "new" one from a broken Gottlieb Fun Land (duck) spinner I got in a box of parts. The blue S stern one in the images here is a true Nine Ball spinner I pulled out of my project game.

I might try to make some more to sell but it's a little tricky to get all the bends right and I'm too dumb to know how to make a specific jig for it.
