Quoted from NeilMcRae:keith Elwin had a JAWS cap on at pin burgh today
I would have been happier to hear that he was wearing an "archer" ball cap

Quoted from CrazyLevi:You really think that these guys are getting rich? You are an emotional guy but you can't seriously believe that these LEs and SLEs are doing much more than helping keep the lights on at Stern.
None of us know exactly what's going on over there. But I'm going with my gut on this one.
if it's costing them that much to keep the lights on, then they have no business being in business. trust me, most of that money probably paid everyone that's someone there a sizeable xmas bonus last year (as well as funding gary's vodka consumption for the first half of this year
what exactly was the cost of those 80 SLE machines? $250-300K? that equates to netting them nearly a cool $1M in profit on 80 machines
Quoted from hank527:Maybe the license cost is extremely high. If so, Guardians is not going to have much either.
I'm toying with just buying spooky, pps, and JJP. Much less Drama. FYI I've bought every Stern NIB since Tron.
<begin sarcasm>
I heard that with GotG, they are going to try a further cost reduction with 2 pop bumpers and only 1 flipper for the pro. if you want the full pinball experience, you'll need to pony up for the SDLE model (super duper), which will be limited to just 40 units [initially] at $18,500 ea
(the sad part is there are probably still a number of people that would buy into the above
is it possible that part of the problem is that the inserts are forced into a hole that's tight to begin? look at the older EMs. when the inserts fall out of the holes due to the glue breaking down over 40+ years, they fit right back into the insert holes and you simply have to glue them back in place
and if I'm not mistake, the inserts are \ / wedge shaped instead of / \ shaped, so the tension placed on the inserts in one of an outward motion over time.
I think that without knowing the exact procedure, timing and type of glue being used, there are too many unknowns to really try and nail down the exact issue. one thing is for sure, whatever stern is doing, it's significantly different than what spooky, jjp and cpr are doing since they have significantly less (if not any) issues in this area
