Is there any way to know the version of the roms installed on a MPU-200?
The original labels of my eproms are missing.

Speaking specifically about NINE BALL I found the following post listed a long time ago on the RGP newsgroup:
"...the other (myth, IMO) that "rumor has it there were 60 revisions of software and it never worked properly on location" (paraphrasing from Gary Flower's book Pinball Lure of the Silverball). This myth gets perpetuated because there has been verified software with stickers on it that said 58, 59, and 60. ..."
Bally had different versions of software for some models. For example SKATEBALL: SKATEBALL "A" (U1=E823-21 U2=E823-22 U6=E720-40), SKATEBALL "C" (U1=E823-24 U2=E823-25 U6=E720-40), and SKATEBALL "E" (U1=E823-21 U2=E823-26 U6=E720-40). Or EIGHT BALL DELUXE: EIGHT BALL DELUXE "A" (U2=E838-13 U6=E720-52), EIGHT BALL DELUXE "B" (U2=E838-14 U6=E720-52) and EIGHT BALL DELUXE "C" (U2=E838-15 U6=E720-52). The labels attached with the original 2532 eproms were printed with the corresponding version. And I suppose that Stern did the same with their variants.
Is the checksum the only way to recognize the software of the models made during the "80's", or is there any specific instruction or a data that can be seen with a rom/prom/eprom reader to identify the model of the machine related with it?
