I have a Yamaha YST-SW216 subwoofer already and I have read a number of positive reviews on the Polk PSW10 and PSW110 as an upgrade.
All are 10" powered subs.
Has anyone here tried both with a recommendation for one over the other?

I would recommend the Polk over the Yamaha on the fact alone that the Polk has an dial adjustable crossover. The Yamaha just a two position switch.
Quoted from nighttaco:I'm going to buy one for mine, is it just easy alligator clip install on these?
Yes. I soldered mine because I don't like alligator clips but they should still work well from all the reports I hear.
Either sub should sound great on MET, but I agree with wayout400 about the Polk being superior due to the dial adjustable crossover.

You can. I used molex connectors on mine so I can attach/detach by just unplugging and reconnecting and don't have to worry about clips coming off or loose. I did all my machines the same way and can swap from one to the other in just a minute.
