I have a Yamaha YST-SW216 subwoofer already and I have read a number of positive reviews on the Polk PSW10 and PSW110 as an upgrade.

All are 10" powered subs.

Has anyone here tried both with a recommendation for one over the other?

I would recommend the Polk over the Yamaha on the fact alone that the Polk has an dial adjustable crossover. The Yamaha just a two position switch.

I'm going to buy one for mine, is it just easy alligator clip install on these?

Yes. I soldered mine because I don't like alligator clips but they should still work well from all the reports I hear.

Either sub should sound great on MET, but I agree with wayout400 about the Polk being superior due to the dial adjustable crossover.

You can. I used molex connectors on mine so I can attach/detach by just unplugging and reconnecting and don't have to worry about clips coming off or loose. I did all my machines the same way and can swap from one to the other in just a minute.

Ok, hooked up the new sub, sounds good, but I'm curious what settings are best for MET on the sub? Just curious what high pass and volume is set at on y'alls...
