Ok so I've read the multiple threads on how to remove the magnet core from my spiderman but I've have no luck as the core hasn't bound to the moveable locking nut, not the bracket, on the underside of the playfield. The magnet core has mushroomed so I can't bring it down through the playfield. Has anyone had this problem and was able to solve how to release the two? My ideas are to cut the nut off and go from there

Since the top of the magnet core is mushroomed such that it is bigger than the hole, you likely will have to slide the magnet core out of the top of the playfield after taking the nut off.

I tried the hair drier method but it didn't budge. I'll try it again this time for longer!

I heated that thing up for 5 minutes still didn't budge!! Time to cut it out!

Try channel locks and a large / VERY large wrench. Worked for me.

pliers to hold the core and the wrench to turn the nut?

I have done it a few times on a IJ Stern.
It is pretty easy .... They have used lock tight on it.
So some thinner will solve the locktight even terpentine did the job the first time.

FWIW, it seems like they stopped using loctite on IMVE. Or at least much less of it. I was prepared to help a friend wrestle his IMVE cores out, but they loosened up easily with a wrench.

Nail polish remover? Put some on both sides of the nut and wait a day?

Wow. Why did he have to remove them on a new game?

He replaced them with Pinball Life's case-hardened cores, which should take much longer to mushroom than Stern's factory cores. I've seen some original Iron Mans get pretty mushroomed even in home play. Just to be safe, I replaced my Metallica LE magnet cores not long after getting it.

Didn't know these existed. Thanks.
