True. For the most part it’s an opinion. If you like LZ & don’t care for GNR you are gonna lean on LZ. But when it comes to the pin and what was put into it, this just isn’t an opinion or debate, GNR just crushed LZ. Here is the PFs, you tell me who put in the effort and who mailed it in?

Wanna know a secret about pinball? Some of the greatest pinball machines of all time, make bleep and bloop sounds and let the artwork speak to the imagination of the player, while playing some "barren" layout.
Sometimes, that's all it takes for some folks to enjoy pinball. Amazing how that's so hard to grasp.
As far as pricing goes, no one is being forced to buy it. If it's too much, there's PLENTY of other options out there at fractions of the cost of todays NIB pins. This is especially good for people who can appreciate non-commercial themes!

Name a barren pinball game you’d buy for $8K let alone $10k. This less is more doesn’t really hold water. I have fun playing my $950 1979 Genie, and at $950 it’s under priced. Nobody disagrees that toys and levels don’t make a great pin. But to say those take away from flow or a pins value is just silly.
IJTPA is thiccc, double stacked, and flows and why it’s worth more than most new pins today. How about we just agree that pins with more included in them are more expensive to make and therefore we expect them to cost more. If a pin is a street level pin and doesn’t include a lot of stuff, we expect them to be less expensive because they were cheaper to make. It’s basic accounting here. it could have the greatest code in the world and that’s not going to add up to a $10k pin if it’s barren. LZ is a $6500 pin, $7K tops even if it has AFM fun & best code ever.
If you’re an LZ fan and you have $20k laying around, you’ll pay $20K. Doesn’t mean it’s worth it to the rest of the pinball world
That’s what the stripped down SE is for. Less items, and quicker play with less stuff for a great price. We agree on that. I think we are agreeing on the same thing here. More expensive doesn’t mean better, but the expectation is the pin has to include more in the pin to justify the extra cost or rarity (ie 500 or less)
Definitely not bothered if you buy a stripped down LZ for $6k, $7k, $20k. Personally though, if I gotta pay $10k for a pin, besides needing to be fun, it also has to include a GNR, TBL, IJPBA worth of items in it in addition to the fun gameplay. That’s the definition of premium pinball. Getting Harlem’s Globetrotters pinball at $10k isn’t gonna cut it. If LZ had a blimp that sunk the ball into the PF, the entire LZ music catalog, and a Jimmy Page double neck incorporated into the PF, AND fun gameplay and deep code Stern would probably get my $10K. What I’m seeing is not a $10k but a $6500 pin. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, just means it’s worth that to me. None of us has played it, so it might go up or down after that, but not much. I’m not sensing this to be a top 10 pin though, probably not top 50. But who knows, maybe there’s an invisible ghost on the PF im not seeing right now that’s gonna tickle my balls and make me change my mind

Yeah the reveal was very bizarre. Going to Suckbook vs Twitch was just losing out the gate. And then no direct audio, no agreement discussing with Twitch that Stern does in fact have the licenses to advertise this game - Led Zeppelin posted it on their page. How do they get thier stream taken down. If there’s an F Triple minus for worst reveal they got it. I have to be honest though, JJP GNR could have been better as The reveal stream was confusing and very low energy. How about get some of the mfn band members IE Slash for GNR or somebody from LED to show up. Is it that crazy? So JJP got a B- but Led got below F-
If you’re a Stern fan, you should send a thank you letter to Jersey Jack. He is literally making Stern make better pinball games. This is a fact Jack!

I’m watching motor city’s LZ stream, this LZ pin is just silly. Spider-Man has more going on. Anybody that says this is a better pin than any GNR is just ludicrous, and this includes Data East. DE GNR is packed with shots everywhere. These guys playing LZ aren’t having fun. LZ is just an 80’s pin with 10 Led Zeppelin tracks playing in the background

Anybody that thinks this poll was referring to anything other than a Pinside poll comparing 2 pinball machines isn’t credible.
The poll is a Pinside poll comparing LZ to GNR and LZ lost. Its a has a bar graph and numbers for simplicity, that’s why Pinside created these for us to use. It’s Pinside Science!

Hard to get excited for GNR although I do like them and I think it’s because I find the DE machine to be a perfectly fine machine that didn’t need a mulligan.

We might be in agreement on this one (kind of). When I heard rumors about a new JJP #6 being GNR I was like “oh boy, here we go. Can’t we do an original pin for a band that hasn’t already been done?”. And as an owner of DE GNR, it’s a mighty fine machine and I’m never parting with it. I really thought there’s no way anybody could top it for many reasons (unlimited tracks with Pinsound, stuffed pf, G N R smooth ramps, auto and manual plungers - one being a gun, the other a rose, deep enough Lyman code, designed by Slash in the heyday of GNR, GNR in the heyday, hidden combos still undiscovered, great 6 ball multi game bum during Wizard - not anytime else in the game, etc). I was fully expecting a fair offering from JJP as the band is past prime time (but still very legit) and expected id end up playing it on premise. BUT...Then they released this masterpiece. Let’s face it, the theme could have been Winger and the game would still be incredible. DE GNR is great because it’s 50% GNR in the heyday and 50% Design & Code. JJP GNR is great because 75% Design & Code and 25% GNR. I think Zeppelin at this point in time would fall into the same category. Let’s face it, a Zeppelin pin in their heyday designed by Jimi Page would be a collectors item today, regardless of design. And a Zeppelin Pin with the JJP GNR theme design & integration today would be game of the decade. In the end GNR was not going to make this pin great in 2020/21 unless it had killer design/code/fun. Eric & JJP gets credit for that. With that said, my DE GNR is bolted down and soon is getting a younger JJP LE to go right with it. If there are any songs I’m missing from the JJP LE, I can get them on the DE GNR. One thing is for sure though, it’s going to be loud AF here. Ok, resume the fight now
It’s funny, when you think about it, the DE GNR only had 3000 made. If JJP does a full 5,000 GNRs DE will actually be rarer. I’m kinda hoping JJP doesn’t do the full 5,000. Wonka LE was set at 5000 Max but I’m sure they are nowhere near that number. GNR will be higher but curious when there close the door like POTC.
Thanks! Sounds like yours is on the way. Post a pic when it arrives. I’m patient (and why I waited) so I’m expecting June. If it comes sooner even better but I have a lot to do around here before then so I’m cool with the wait. Also production issues will hopefully all be resolved by then
