I like both the premium and pro cab art, I am not sure what I think about that raising spinner/magnet.
Quoted from Kiwipinhead:300+ GnR pins coming to Aus and NZ.. Can't see LZ selling that many down this way. Can still buy LZ LE's here.
I can’t believe the LEs sold out (reportedly) sight unseen.
Quoted from chromag:Ok, I just saw the shitty lookin one with the blue trim..............wtf?
Might be the ugliest cabinet ever for the best band ever...........that is seriously wrong!
I was hoping the 3 cab was the pro, I guess not, eh. Is that shitty blue the pro?
Maybe Stern found out that LE was sold out at distributers and swapped the worse art package to that.
It’s too bad regarding the songs since they are represented on the back wall and likely in the display so while it’s possible to swap in some other songs they won’t coordinate with the art/display.
Quoted from dsmoke1986:it's a reskin of Star Wars, which was a reskin of AC/DC...WTF Stern
What?
Quoted from dsmoke1986:This game looks like shit. I love Steve Ritchie, he's my favorite designer ever, but he straight up mailed it in; it's a reskin of Star Wars, which was a reskin of AC/DC...WTF Stern
I think you mailed in this comment.
Quoted from nicoy3k:Still can’t get over the fucking standup shot from third flipper. Stern is begging you not to buy the pro. What a joke
I was going to say pro looked great until I saw that missing ramp.
Initially I thought the blimp would lock the balls such as in DI.
Funny every pin that comes out if not buying it people feel the need to tear it down. Nobody is excited to like or buy every new pin and I’ve learned that some pins I don’t love that other person loves. Meaning my opinion is not the end and be all.
Likely every pin that comes out I have an itch and maybe will buy one out of ten. Doesn’t mean the other nine are bad just didn’t grab me. Also many times I’ll get a pin well past the release date and find a lot of the initial hysteria both good and bad is overstated.
I’m glad LZ finally got a pin and hopefully it’s fun to play.
Example, l love SW and super glad Stern made it, Steve, Dwight etc. some people don’t like SW but I bought it over any pin of the last few years.
Quoted from Pinballer67:Listening to the Tim Sexton Pinball Profile with the majestic Jeff Teolis LOL ...hmmm...the ruleset sounds pretty cool...

Let's wait to see how this baby shoots! ... (including - on the pro - that little rectal target from the 3rd flip). I'm doubting that 3rd flip can hit the ramp but who knows?
So I'm not subscribing to "premature evacuation" from this potentially most excellent pin!
Can hardly wait for the Friday stream!
I bet the flipper can hit the ramp my R&M even made it, SM can do. It’s just not a natural shot meaning not likely but it can happen.
I don’t know about LZ but if they’re saying it can be hit than I think it’ll be more likely than just a fluke shot like on R&M.
Quoted from 27dnast:Rick and Morty?
Agree, the callouts are super entertaining (reminds me of tspp in theme integration).
I’m mildly amused that people will buy a pin sight unseen just because of the theme. Also sell out LEs without regard to what you are getting for the extra $1800. I’m not complaining more just seems like this happens a lot and yet Stern gets away with it for a good theme. I mean if xyz is a theme some people will throw down $9K no matter what.
I’ve seen Stern get creative with pricing up games like BM66 and Elvira can’t believe they didn’t make 68 SLE of LZ for $15K.
Quoted from spinal:So for those of you new to pinball (including the artist for LZ), welcome. I hope this served as a small introduction to what pinball art and insert theme integration can be and has fkn been for decades.
Now I will leave again with the current insulting garbage art that has been presented to us.
Clearly there was no coordination and planning when the playfield was being designed. It’s very clear someone was given a weekend to paste some art on this shit. Look at the fkn Icarus image with inserts just covering up random parts. No care. No consideration.
And no respect for the pinball artform or for this hobby. Whoever is responsible for this shit, please don’t call yourself a pinball artist. Tell people you worked for Stern and leave it at that.
Again the work speaks for itself and I hope by showing pics of my MM this morning, those of you new to the hobby, on the Stern payroll or just apologists and shills can at least understand WHY this disrespect for Led Zeppelin and the pinball art form leaves us wanting more.
[quoted image]
I’m pretty sure LZ took more than a weekend to complete. But the more I look at LZ art the more I see it’s lazy as F.
I enjoy your examples of MM very much.
One example of ‘bad art’ on a great pin may be Tron. I’m not a big fan of floating heads (JJP Potc I’m looking at you). I’m just pointing out a pinball machine can have bad art and still be very fun to play. But it’s true that there have been some excellent pinball art packages recently as well as some bad.
Quoted from phoenixpin:On an announcement, theme is the most important.
On a reveal, art is the most important.
On a stream, game play is the most important.
At home, fun and code are the most important.
Of course this is all reductive, but so far we are at Step 2 and art is the main real thing we have to comment on.
Well said 100% agree.
We have K man saying Stern sold out the LE allotment just on theme alone before it was ever shown to the public.
Quoted from coop:I was reading your comments and I have to say they felt dismissive. So, I thought I would try to sketch out what people like me are thinking. It is just a pinball machine but I do love pinball and there are truly a very limited amount of grail themes.
In 1977 I was in 5th grade when I saw Star Wars at the Coronet theater in San Francisco—which is where the film premiered. I saw it in the theater 9 times that summer. Led Zeppelin was the soundtrack to my teenage years. Those types of memories are limited. A person may only have a couple of true grail themes. Sure, I'll enjoy the next one as I enjoy them all to some degree but I still think it's fair to leave space for a discussion about lackluster art package.
I listened to Jeff Teolis to raise the same issues that I had this evening on his podcast. He's still buying the game. I too still want to play it and I might even buy one. I do care a lot about this theme and unfortunately, the next one will just be something random that I won't have an emotional connection to. So, for now, I’ll just go ahead and make my points and you can drink my beer for me.
See you tomorrow on Twitch.
P.S. I think you're a cool person. You've helped me out on here with some pinball problems. I know you and I could just totally hang out and it would be fun. I'm just talking about my feelings and stuff.
I’m not sure if you’ve given SW a chance. The art might have been a sore spot but the comic edition especially the pro is outstanding. As for gameplay, layout and code it’s one of my all time favorite pins.
Now I understand not everyone loves the same pins but also I’m not sure everyone has given SW a fair chance.
Quoted from chuckwurt:For real? That’s huge.
Quoted from cooked71:So $850 is cheap now? It’s a pretty lame effort as usual.
So glad I haven’t been sucked in to this whole topper obsession.
I know that's almost $1K for a topper, come on man!
You can buy a runs good car for $900 how's that for a cargument?
Quoted from LOTR_breath:You gotta sign up for Stern Insider. It's free, just a small PITA.
thanks the game looks fast and fun, I think I'll pass tho as waiting for Alien remake.
I bet this is gonna be a huge hit, I'll play it on location as soon as possible.
Quoted from jalpert:We have to pay Stern $39 to be an insider to see the reveal video? That can't be right....
no just the free membership will do
