Just put my local classic rock station on and boom Kashmir! It’s a sign...I’m pretty stoked for this title.

#5 10 months ago

Stern and the LZ machine just got a major plug on 102.9 here in the Philly area. Can’t say I ever recall hearing stern and pinball being discussed live on fm radio, pretty cool.

#7 10 months ago

Think we get any Page or Plant callouts?

These guys are always doing interviews and media appearances so maybe there is a chance.

#11 10 months ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

I stopped paying attention to rumors a while ago.
What are the current details?
Reskin of a classic or all new game?
Foundation type pro, prem,le or BS Beatles pricing?

All new game with pro/pre/le, SR game designer.

#29 10 months ago

The rumor was they went on the line back on the first Friday of November, they have to have quite a few ready to roll. May even be building LE’s at this point if they have 4-5 weeks of production already.
They just said currently building 70 games a day correct?

#34 10 months ago
Quoted from luvthatapex2:

.... probably see a Jack Danger LZ stream next week!

He did say today was going to be a good day!

#139 10 months ago

You think we see Pros and LE by end of month?

I’m assuming the rumor of these being on the line in early November would probably support this.

#148 10 months ago
Quoted from Phbooms:

When i ordered my Pro i was told they had them already to ship but couldnt say anything else is the way i took it.

If it’s been on the line 4+ weeks already and 70 per day is what Gary said recently, there has to be a ton built.
Other than Heavy Metal and Star Wars the pin which aren’t mass produced games, nothing has been on the line since roughly Nov 6 or so.

#152 10 months ago
Quoted from Asylum:

Not so sure about this? I got my AIQ Prem yesterday with a build date of 12/9?

They have two lines running so not certain. That doesn’t jive with their production schedule that has been circulating pinside either.

#159 10 months ago
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:

Praying for a Moby Dick drum solo wizard mode

That would be awesome!

#177 10 months ago

Gosh too many good songs, I’m hoping for 15.

#178 10 months ago

Stairway to heaven as an attract mode with some kind of topper interaction would be cool.

#181 10 months ago
Quoted from pinster68:

Stairway is so polarizing; some love to hate it. I say it is and should only be a wizard mode. You have to work to get there/heaven. It can’t be an easy reward.
I’m in for an LE.

I agree with this 100%, if used in game hard to get to.

#183 10 months ago
Quoted from punkin:

It's too slow for pinball.

Yes..attract mode is too slow for pinball.

#190 10 months ago
Quoted from punkin:

atrract mode? you were agreeing with using it in wizard mode.

The point was hard to imagine the song during game play but if it was a once in a 1000 wizard mode type thing I can live with it and I do like the song.

More appropriate use would be a attract mode linked to topper or game over type coding.

Put it this way, I hope it is integrated somewhere but not during main game play.

#198 10 months ago
Quoted from Guinnesstime:

Prediction (mine an Alexa’s);
Good Times, Bad Times
Communication Breakdown
Whole Lotta Love
Ramble On
Immigrant Song
Rock and Roll
Black Dog
Song Remains The Same
The Ocean
Custard Pie
Fool In The Rain

Thats a list I can go with!

#213 10 months ago
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

I would not mind that at all. Nice bright colors. And the Celebration Day concert is amazing and they played a flawless concert. Celebration Day Blu-ray blows away Song Remains The Same DVD. At least they weren’t stoned or drunk on Celebration Day concert.
[quoted image]

Great show and some great visuals and background video content but really hard to see them do this not being from the John B era. Jason is fantastic though and doesn’t bother me either way Stern does it.

#238 10 months ago
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

I would not mind that at all. Nice bright colors. And the Celebration Day concert is amazing and they played a flawless concert. Celebration Day Blu-ray blows away Song Remains The Same DVD. At least they weren’t stoned or drunk on Celebration Day concert.
[quoted image]

Another issue using Celebration day as the content aside from no John Bonham is the track list while solid is missing too many rockin must haves in my opinion.

No Communication Breakdown, Heart Breaker/Living Loving Maid? Really?

I say pick 12-15 from Mothership album at a minimum.

#250 10 months ago

Don’t forget SR has said multiple times over the last couple years that LZ is his grail theme.

I think that bodes well for something special and it seems it was delayed a couple times hopefully to get it right.

#285 10 months ago

Ac/Dc got 12 full length songs that are modes so this at an absolute minimum should have 12.

Hoping for a bakers dozen or more!

#321 10 months ago

Can’t believe nothing has leaked over the weekend, something always leaks out.

No Pics, no idea on artist, no rumors on game features.

Keeping it pretty tight lipped.

#325 10 months ago
Quoted from kermit24:

Yep. Need Franchi back. He was always nice and leaky.

Stern should just drip drip drip all weekend long to keep pumping the hype, nothing major but some sort of small details.

Keep the teasing going since everyone is foaming at the mouth.

#335 10 months ago
Quoted from UNCgump:

TBD, I guess. I think the person's point was boring/unimaginative.

Quoted from EMpins16:

Lol. I love all these “ I heard “ posts .

Gotta love the straw man horseshit.

Let me guess it came from a secret Stern Employee

#336 10 months ago
Quoted from UNCgump:

This came from someone at Stern.

#338 10 months ago
Quoted from UNCgump:

Was from a Stern employee

I’m not buying it

#343 10 months ago
Quoted from EMpins16:

So far we’ve “heard “ that “it sucks”. “ it’s a dud”. “ it’s a repackaged black knight “. “ it’s Steve’s best game to date “. “It’s essentially Quicksilver”. “ it’s not happening “. any others I forgot ?

I think you covered it pretty well, all said with nothing to back it up.

#354 10 months ago
Quoted from hank527:

Rumor is Mothership is used for the songs. I heard it plays fun as hell and has three flippers without an upper pf and lots of ramps.
Heard they gave him a little extra budget as they want to sell it for years to come. We shall see.

Nothing wrong with mothership as it has all the must haves in my opinion, maybe missing a few deep tracks but we will see.

3 flippers and lots of ramps sounds promising as does extra budget(toys and assets).

Any solid leads in the artist and style?

#357 10 months ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

Let us know how you like both when you get them...we can always count on you for honesty.
My guess...LZ won't come close to GnR for toys, light show, or build quality, but will surpass it in replayability and pure fun.

That’s always been my thing with the JJP games, visually stunning but for whatever reason just not as fun. Wont stop me from buying certain games though.

#375 10 months ago
Quoted from PinBalt:

Well I will still stick with the artist being Franchi. I think he's on it. It will be a big "surprise" but he has been so cozy with the Stern folks the past half year with interviews on his podcast that I would be shocked if he doesn't do a game with them again.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

That would be a cool surprise. I like his work.

While I do like what he did with Beatles, something in that style would not work with LZ.

I think it needs to be hand drawn like Zombie Zeti or Donny style.

#386 10 months ago
Quoted from kermit24:

Dirty Donnie is done @ Stern. He burned the bridge. Thought Franchi had also.

If Donny and Franchi are out that leaves Yombie who did both of the 2020 machines and Bob Stevlic who did Stranger Things and GOT. These two games are very uninspiring with art.

I guess Kevin O’ Conner Is possibility.

Have they worked with anyone else recently?

#389 10 months ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

Would really like to see a classic style (like Paul Ferris) on zep.
Sorry but PLEASE not franchi. Not the right artist for this theme IMO

Wow..that’s a deep cut there.

#392 10 months ago
Quoted from mnpinball:

The irony is right in front of everybody‘s eyes. Could this be Steve’s last game ?
Steve has always been one of my favorites.
The swan song (ancient Greek: κύκνειον ᾆσμα; Latin: carmen cygni) is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement.
[quoted image]

Could be his last game and hopefully if so goes to another level but damn I hope that isn’t the art.

#397 10 months ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

If this is true, and you've been nailing your predictions, this should be his best ever. Hoping so!!

The pin I hope you mean and not that art!

#417 10 months ago
Quoted from Guinnesstime:

If we get 2nd tier art - like Star Wars, AC/DC - in order to put more in the game, I guess it's ok. There's precedent with Ritchie.

It’s it’s Acdc type art the game better be f’ing loaded to the hilt!

#421 10 months ago
Quoted from wtatumjr:

I'm in for a premium. Dealer sold out of LE's. I'm told about 6 week wait.

Premiums usually last correct?

#422 10 months ago

Are we going to get any info today?

The wait is agonizing

#429 10 months ago
Quoted from andre060:

Very curious to see where the pricing ends up on this one!

Hearing same as last release

#432 10 months ago
Quoted from Dallas_Pin:

What was the pricing for the last release? Been awhile for a NIB Stern for me

I thought it was $9199//$7299/$5699. If I’m off a hair I apologize.

#434 10 months ago
Quoted from Trogdor:

If distributors are out of LEs already, shouldn’t Stern change that number before press release? Odds are it is just a topper and special speakers - not autographed stuff. How many LEs can you produce and still call it an LE? Should get a pool going for official LE number- I say 1000.

They never made more than 500 LE for any rock machine. I’m going to guess we see 350-500.

#436 10 months ago
Quoted from PokerJake:

Isn't there a price increase of $100 starting the new year?

There is but my deposit was paid in 2020 so it’s a purchase for this year.

#446 10 months ago
Quoted from Yoko2una:

I heard they tried all the way up to 1,964 before...

Not really. Beatles Diamond and Platinum were well under 1000 total.

Gold is run of the mill.

#447 10 months ago

I’m going with 350 and if they truly are sold out I think it’s a lower number than usual.

My deposit was non refundable as of Friday.

#452 10 months ago

I think the licensor sometimes gets a say in this too.

#456 10 months ago

Wow..nothing but crickets!

#458 10 months ago
Quoted from BackFlipper:

When is Stern doing their webinar for distributor's? Today or tomorrow?

I thought it was today, I’m amazed there is no news today.

Seems like every other release I can remember there was all kinds of shit floating around in the days leading up.

#460 10 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Same price. Why would they do less? It’s not Elvira
At least 500, hopefully they didn’t pull the Munsters greed factor again and go 600 but I’d bet on that

We were all just taking guesses, I really have no idea. I was speculating on the low end since there were reports they were all spoken for already.

#462 10 months ago

What time?

#467 10 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Huge demand for music pins and LZ
Not long now

Can’t wait!

#473 10 months ago

Yep looks like no leaks today..webinar is tomorrow AM

#484 10 months ago
Quoted from John_I:

You do understand that it is not difficult to back out when the pictures come out tomorrow? Who has money down? If the game looks bad or I like the Premium artwork better, I can easily back out or switch the order. I'm not worried in the least bit either way. If I was buying a Premium, I would have waited instead of grabbing an LE spot. As for the never relevant carguement; I not only test drive cars, I wait until they are ten years old to buy them used. My newest car is a 2008 Corvette.

Friday afternoon most of the big distros needed deposit to secure LE and yes I did.

You say easy to back out, maybe switch from LE to Premium etc.. but I’m thinking you can’t outright cancel that’s why it’s non refundable deposit.

#506 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

The past couple releases have had the distro meeting like right before the release to prevent leaks.

They could at least throw us some sort of bone to hold us over..lol

Many of us are foaming at the mouth over this one!

#514 10 months ago
Quoted from Jason_Jehosaphat:

It may have already been speculated, but...
Why not a "Stairway to Heaven" LE with "All-That-Glitters-is-Gold" armor, like Metallica's "Master of Puppets" LE with glittery silver armor?

I’d rather some glittery black, Beatles got the glittery gold.

#522 10 months ago
Quoted from Diamond:

Just got some good and bad news. Good news is we will get to see LZ tomorrow. The bad news is we won’t see any LE’s delivered until 2nd week of January. Pros will be getting into peoples hands here in the us just after Christmas.

Where did you hear this?

#533 10 months ago

Have they not been on the line since mid November? That was the rumor back then.

#539 10 months ago
Quoted from ThisNotes4U:

Many photos are sent for one time read. I got these:

#545 10 months ago
Quoted from Vino:

So which album would be best inspiration for cabinet art? Thoughts/predictions?
[quoted image]

Probably mothership or celebration day

#580 10 months ago

It’s 8, where are the pics?

#583 10 months ago

10 full length songs per Kaneda

#586 10 months ago
Quoted from Guinnesstime:

Surprising. GNR has more multiballs than Zep songs.

Little disappointing, if it’s the correct 10 it could be ok. Wonder if there are any shorter clips for other features.

#593 10 months ago

Looks interesting, lots of stuff! Need more details

#605 10 months ago

I’m able to make out the bottom 7 songs in the video looks like a good list. Ramp city which is awesome!

#614 10 months ago

Definitely a nice track List, no stairway?

#616 10 months ago

Where’s the LE?

#628 10 months ago

Gotta have some non gameplay stairway clip, attract, game over..something

#629 10 months ago

Lots of drop targets

#632 10 months ago

Le possibly mothership?

#646 10 months ago

Where does that middle ramp lead to? Does the raise up lock take ball into subway? I’m not seeing a vuk.

#649 10 months ago
Quoted from onemilemore:

That right ramp almost looks like it rebounds off the back of itself or something? Maybe it's the photo angle but certainly looks a little different. Anyone else tell what's up there?

Does the right lamp loop up onto the right wire form?

#650 10 months ago
Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Man this looks sweet. Solid soundtrack. Art looks great. Can't wait to see some gameplay vids on the different models.

Looks like classic early year concert footage for video as well.

#657 10 months ago

Electric magic multiball via the raise up mech was the 1971 UK tour they did.

#667 10 months ago
Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Can't help wishing this layout was on GnR, for the best of both worlds.
Happy with a pro, as looks like it will play fast, and be pure adrenalin.

Yeah SR definitely knows how to make a fast game which is always fun.

#669 10 months ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

These lights look amazing. January can't get here fast enough!! (Hoping le avail in jan)

I think we see them sooner than you think.

#684 10 months ago
Quoted from onemilemore:

Wonder if we get any of that concert footage or if that's only for the teaser.

I’m thinking we do as their is a world tour mode, tour mode and electric magic tour mb so concert footage seems fitting for those. The first two have inserts on PF.

#686 10 months ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

Is that all that mech is? A spinner? Is it also a lock or magnet?

video shows it grab ball and take it beneath pf

#690 10 months ago

The LE has to be the mothership art the more I think about it. Mothership is the all encompassing album of their biggest hits which are all in the game and there is lots of the mothership Zepp front in center in art, toys and video.

#694 10 months ago

So we have 10 full tracks, think there are other short clips for modes/multiball?

Seems the 10 tracks are just regular gameplay type of selections.

#698 10 months ago
Quoted from pinmister:

To some that pop up locking spinner mech may not look like much but I bet it adds a lot of dimension to gameplay. Seems like a tight narrow shot with lots of risk vs reward. I am liking it

Looks similar to the Iron man mech minus the bash toy.

#711 10 months ago
Quoted from hoby1:

I’m out. Looks like a toy compared to G&R

A more fun toy that is!

#725 10 months ago

I dig all 3 to be honest but I actually really like the band so I guess I’m biased and not looking strictly as a pinhead.

#727 10 months ago

Interesting there is a vuk in the middle tucked away, is this were the electric magic toy spits them out?

#742 10 months ago

Holy shit, you see the topper....wow

#787 10 months ago

So 3 wizard modes, there has to be some other tracks coded in for these if the 10 shown are all main game play right?

#806 10 months ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

Anyone else they think the side lights look like Pingraffix Power Blades? If not, certainly that can be replicated pretty easily...

It kind of looks like the blades have a removable panel to access the bulbs I would assume. I think I saw a seam and some screws in the video.

#844 10 months ago

I’m still trying to understand how now stairway to heaven anywhere?

Imagine GNR with no welcome to the jungle, that’s right you just can’t.

I f’ing hoping stairway or a snippet of stairway is in there somewhere.

#874 10 months ago

Mirrored glass does look sharp in the high res photos.

#888 10 months ago
Quoted from pinlawyer:

Those expecting or wanting a more "packed" playfield don't know or like Steve Ritchie games. Looks like it will have good flow. This is not a design which "code can't save" (like WWF or, IMO, Turtles or Houdini). Ritchie has never been the guy to use a packed PF. Loops, ramps, targets, holes. Here, we have a side flipper, too.

I thinks there is a ton of shit to shoot at on this game.

#890 10 months ago
Quoted from Monk:

How do you know it's not the wizard mode or in the game? Was it known that End of the Line was in Metallica for the Wizard Mode before any gameplay video was released?

Very true and I’m hoping for this given there are 3 wizard modes.

On Kaneda’s Facebook stream where the 10 songs was announced early this am someone said the ocean and stairway along with most of the 10 we know.

#902 10 months ago
Quoted from TreyBo69:

I feel like if it had Stairway to Heaven then they would advertise having it.

You would think but if it’s only in the wizard mode and not full length how would you advertise that?

There has to be something about the 3 wizards modes that differentiate them from the rest of game you would think.

#906 10 months ago
Quoted from pinmister:

I know I may be clearly in the minority but I actually think Stairway does not make for a good pinball song. May be reason they left out

The full length of song I agree but for a quick mode, wizard scenario, game over, attract, you could use any section of the song to incorporate their most iconic song.

#913 10 months ago
Quoted from TreyBo69:

I agree with you that the song doesn't fit pinball, at least without a ton of work.
But I would guess the reason it was left out is that the song costs as much as half of the other songs combined.

The band and licensor should want it in their, this represents the band big time and they haven’t exactly been front and center with the fans for a long time.

#935 10 months ago
Quoted from Hi-Fi:

They couldn’t think of of better name than “Electric Magic Multiball”?

It was one of their iconic tours, it was the 71’ UK tour, 4-5 hour shows that were like a circus.

#942 10 months ago

Is twip or deadflip streaming today?

#953 10 months ago

3 wizard modes and since this is a hype thread I’m going to go out on a limb here

Top of the charts - Stairway - number one rock some to most.

World Tour - not sure maybe the ocean

The Zeppelin with ? - Dazed and confused, it’s from that album.

I’d shit if this is correct

#966 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Stairway is not in the game. Ritchie tried and it was too difficult to secure apparently.

Is that published somewhere? Or anecdotal guess?

#981 10 months ago
Quoted from Venom77:

Agree to me when the levy breaks is my fav... so many songs and just 10 ? blah

Even the Stones machine has 13-14!

Edit - maybe Stairway isn’t wizard but something tells me they arent generic modes with specific inserts. Remaining optimistic until proven otherwise.

#1019 10 months ago

Not sure if anyone has taken the time to read through this but the coding sounds a bit different for a music pin.

#1041 10 months ago
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

I read it, and one thing leaped right out at me.....
Woof! Hope everyone likes hearing "Good times Bad Times" about a MILLION times. Have they learned nothing from "Ok who brought the dog?" and the mistakes of linear mode play? Switch the song order up with some switch hits or allow player to select.
Repetitive play is stagnant play IMO.
[quoted image]

Watch the accessories video, I think your wrong. Song selection appears on the lcd as a juke box flipping through the songs with respective album art. Looks good IMO.

#1056 10 months ago
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

Just quoting the Thisweekinpinball article....
"Your progress through songs is something unique and something never done in a music game. Each song is divided into “sections” (verse, chorus, solo, bridge, etc.) and each of those sections have their own rules to show which shots are available. If you “finish” a song, it will automatically transition to the next song. It plays the songs in the order of the list on the back panel.
Each song has a threshold of completing it, up to “Platinum”. Completing a song at the Platinum threshold is approximately twice as difficult as completing the game at the easiest threshold."
They would be insane to do linear play in a music themed pin. You may be able to change at the beginning, but it just steps through to next song during play.

You can start game with whatever song you want but maybe since it’s all depicted as a jukebox on the screen if shuffles like a juke.
No idea, looking forward to a video to see progression and how these tour modes are worked in along with the wizards modes.

#1251 10 months ago
Quoted from PinBalt:

He clearly loves the band from the Stern Insider. They had no choice in the 10 songs. That came with the deal. They had very limited assets to work with, which agrees with Aurichs points.

I think the 10 they got are f’ing great and would have been my first 10 to have if it were up to me, just wish there was 2 more.

#1339 10 months ago
Quoted from jpc211245:

In the Tim Sexton interview today on Pinball Profile he commented that there was over 50 minutes of music on the pin. Taking the ten tracks that we know of based on the their album time, it only equals just under 46 minutes. Is there another song hidden in the wizard mode?

They ask about the Zep target with question mark to and basically say they won’t say what happens and needs to be earned and requires all platinum records. With 5 minutes of music not accounted for could easily be another song.

Tim definitely emphasizes something special occurring with the ? Insert wizard mode.

#1352 10 months ago
Quoted from kermit24:

I don’t think it’s that easy. Tim mentioned you pick the song before you plunge, so it must also be represented on the LCD.

Might be tough because of the light show as well, Tim claims it’s synced down to the drums solos and riffs. Swap a song might screw it up.

#1384 10 months ago
Quoted from Trogdor:

The theme integration is that you are a young Jimmy or Robert or.. and embarking on a rock gods life. This is more guitar hero Zeppelin then an homage to the band.
Gameplay will be interesting to see what video is included. Can you say UK 71 without video of ‘71? Then has to be different for ‘77? And if the video is different, will the audio? Odds are, would have costed too much and we will see generic animations in all.

Tim’s interview claims they have actual footage from the 4 tours utilized in the game including tour posters. Looking forward to seeing it.

#1469 10 months ago

I keep hearing people bring up integration, did any of you listen to Tim Sexton’s podcast last night?

To me the integration sounds great, some of you folks are in an alternate universe of something.

You don’t like the art that’s fine, don’t like lack of toys that’s fine too but the only info we have on code and integration is in that video and it sound pretty damn good and different.

#1506 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Watch this in Spotify. If this was the LCD for this song, that would be amazing.

Is there supposed to be video? It just plays the track.

#1509 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Yeah. Plays video on my phone. It’s a crazy grungy loop of a Zeppelin crashing and the band signing. Matches the art on the premium well. Would be a cool clip to have in the game for that song.

Yeah that’s pretty sweet, I think they used some background video like that during the Celebration Day show. Don’t think they played that song but similar style for some of the others.

#1510 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Yeah. Plays video on my phone. It’s a crazy grungy loop of a Zeppelin crashing and the band signing. Matches the art on the premium well. Would be a cool clip to have in the game for that song.

Check out good times bad times video same album

#1539 10 months ago
Quoted from Scarpacifico:

So I'm ready to buy an LE edition and they're already sold out. It sounds like "club" members bought them up and thus they were never really available to begin with. Is that typical for Stern and LE? Why do they announce a product that they aren't going to sell?

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, only been rumored to be the next title for about 18 months now. Need to hit your distro up early. Snooze you lose!

#1642 10 months ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Tim Sexton mentioned in an interview that the game has approximately 50 minutes of song time.
Someone here did the math and thought that meant there is more than 10 songs in the game.
Possible I guess. I personally think Tim was simply rounding up. Haha

No. That was just someone speculating based on the 50 mins of song time theory.

The speculation was based partly off the time theory from Tim because even rounding up doesn’t get you to 50 minutes and Tim said well over 50 minutes of music. The other piece that was interesting from Tim was if you go platinum for all records something really special happens in that wizard mode. What can possibly happen with no crazy mechs or anything?

Lastly he specifically mentions a timed and synced light show to John Bonham’s big drum solo, in these 10 songs is there an epic drum solo that rises to that of the Ocean?

Not saying there is something more just thinking there has to be something more to those wizard modes than shooting more arrows.

#1647 10 months ago
Quoted from kermit24:

A montage of the 10?

Maybe but I wouldn’t use the word special or amazing to describe it like Tim did. Doubt we find out tomorrow either.

#1648 10 months ago
Quoted from PinBalt:

Possible but i doubt it. Whats special about achieving that. Stern should just state it now like Iron Maiden.

The thing is there are the 10 songs you play through, at least 5 Multiballs off the top of my head and 3 wizard modes with one being the final wizard mode. Curious how they are differentiated.

#1654 10 months ago
Quoted from Guinnesstime:

I want to know what music is in the multi balls too. Usually they're different, like KISS w/Love Gun and Calling Dr. Love.

So the Multiballs are all tour modes so I’m guessing same music integrated with footage and tour posters from the respective tours.

Example electric magic shows were like a circus atmosphere with some cool posters, I’m guessing we get some of that for electric magic multiball.

#1657 10 months ago
Quoted from PinBalt:

Yeah. I get the surprise but now its a marketing negative. Announce it and let people know what they are working towards. Hell I suck so may never see it with the glass on

Does anyone know what happens on JJP GNR wizard mode yet? Shit POTC doesn’t even have one but when it gets coded I expect it to be really good.

#1659 10 months ago
Quoted from J85M:

Led Zep has made me curious about one thing, what other mechs could you have rise out a playfield? A kickback could really change a games layout and shots.

I thought for sure there would be a mechanical ramp that rose up out of PF for the Stairway to heaven shot, obviously not the case!

If Stern was able to make a pirate ship rise and sink back in 2006 surely they could have done something with the Zeppelin.

#1661 10 months ago
Quoted from PinBalt:

In Tims interviews they will play within any song being played, so i don't expect unique music. But the wiz modes are after all 10 are done. I cannot believe they would mash up as songs there. Maybe live performances but that would be redundant. Everyone ping Tim on the Facebook stream .... what is the wizard mode music !

When I first saw the insert art for the Wizard modes I saw the Zepp logo with the question mark and immediately thought of Dazed and Confused with crazy light show, it is from the LZ 1 album.

Then i saw the other insert called top of the charts and thought that can only mean something with Stairway to heaven.

I’m obviously looking at this from the perspective of a LZ fan!

#1666 10 months ago
Quoted from onemilemore:

Yeah this is what has me a little skeptical on code. Granted Maiden is my only recent music pin experience, but I like starting a song but then having different tracks come in via modes - breaks up the repetition. But on that interview Tim said you're always in song mode, which makes me wonder if you pick Rock n Roll, for example, then start Zeppelin Multiball, is it still just Rock n Roll? That might feel a bit flat but we shall see.

I like how they utilized the music in the Stones. Song for ball 1/2/3 and then depending on what modes you start get different songs, songs totally unique to the Multiballs and song dedicated to the wizard mode.

Anyone have any ideas what the second switch in shooter lane could be for?

#1672 10 months ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Quote of the month!
And I agree ... the slingshot stuff is bizarre. It makes me wonder if they are gonna sell 'upgraded plastics' now as accessories.

Someone will need to make a replacement slingshot plastic mod with art retaining the same coloring or at the very minimum some sort of decal.

Quoted from Vino:

It’ll be a fun enough shooter. Complimentary drops for LED to match ZEP just stand out to me as another area that could have been more compelling.

I agree, when I first saw the photos I was like wow lots of drops to only find 3.

Pre/LE should have been all drops.

Maybe this can be modded like Ac/dc?

#1687 10 months ago
Quoted from Darscot:

Can you hit a ramp or orbit through the lift spinner. The video seems to show the ball just kinda rattling around after it goes through. It just seems kinda lame, the ball needs to travel to make a spinner satisfying.

Not quite sure, camera angle sucked but it does show it go straight through to the Icarus target.

It’s an opto spinner so it probably rips good like on Beatles.

The other spinner opto as well?

#1688 10 months ago

Left orbit goes all the way around to 3rd flipper?

If yes, a fast left orbit to upper flipper then hot shot ramp could be a cool combo.

#1691 10 months ago
Quoted from TreyBo69:

I thought I heard Jack Danger said he could rip the spinner into the center ramp.
I’m mostly looking forward to seeing the center ramp shot made from the upper flipper. There’s a rubber wall right next to the center ramp above the side ramp/standup target. I guess it’s supposed to be like the snikt bank shot into a ramp.

That shot would have to be made from right flipper I guess and the icarus target possibly from both?

Seems like the right flipper angle and path to center ramp is only way.

Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

Listened to Tim discuss LZ rules and his direction on Pinball Profile podcast ... bravo. My takeaway was the core code is in place, as are most modes and scoring etc. He didn’t say what level the software was but based on his feedback, I’d guess 75% of the way to 1.0 code. However some of what he discussed as being fun and planned rules have yet to make it into the code, nor has it been created. He mentioned considering some other ideas and scoring adjustments that likewise has not yet been created. One final promise he made was to incorporate co-op/teamup play styles near the end of his effort.
In my head, this boils down to -> waiting six months for the true and full nature of code to evolve and give LZ pinball a try then. Until then, consider it an expensive box of blinking lights with AWESOME music. The problem with that approach is the game is being made now. Of course Tim wants you to buy and play it now and have fun watching the software evolve. But as an end user, I want it mostly done when offered for sale and prior to shipping game one. No way I’d buy this game without playing one and UNTIL the code is settled. If that means June, then I’ll find out then and that’s the first problem I have with this offering.
In the meantime I’ll listen to LZ music and look at at pics of cabinets, translites and playfield art while softly sobbing, knowing a four-year old could have managed the Client/designed three better packages. In the future when Stern vaults this title, maybe we’ll see a decent art package. I can’t get past, nor will I accept any of the announced models. So that’s my second complaint.
Settling for 10 songs from a classic band with so many hit songs, is a slap in the face of every pinball poppin LZ fan. The existing list should add another 6-10 songs. It’s only money, so buy the licenses and have the Stern Team integrate. Then, at least the music content would feel like we were getting our money’s worth. That is my final issue.
Three strikes and this pin is out for me. I’m not even considering game play yet because until June 2021, how would I know enough to comment?

You have a time stamp where he specifically says the bulk of “ the fun and planned rules” aren’t in the game at all or even begun to developed yet?

I listened twice and don’t recall him saying that other than the co op mode, might possibly adjust time to complete song and some other tweaks.

I think the meat and potatoes are already there and tomorrow’s stream is supposed to be on the LE which is good.

#1745 10 months ago
Quoted from 80sMan:

Funny, I was just thinking this last night.. just go with the art & theme guys, double down on it.. especially with the LE. That was the 70's, like it or not. I love the blue, is it Possible to tie-dye the armor? If not, wrap blue jeans material around the legs? Glasses, beads, flowers.. someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes & flowers in her hair [quoted image][quoted image]

I take it as there is just a lot of angry dudes out there that need to get laid.

The anger over art and pinball is comical.

#1752 10 months ago
Quoted from 80sMan:

The album covers on the side plastics, I think that's a cool touch. Regarding the pop bumpers with the same Icarus on all 3? I think a nice & simple mod might be if someone makes a whole set of the studio albums on circle pop bumper plastics to switch them up to your favorites. I'd for sure put a Physical Graffiti, Houses & IV on them instead. I'm also really looking forward to seeing what's on the video assets tomorrow during the stream? I heard Tim on the podcast talk about live video clips from Earl's court?! Very excited about that. I don't think Stern has released real band footage on a rock pin yet, it's all been cartoons.
[quoted image][quoted image]

They also have corresponding album cover next to song selection on lcd.
Tim also said they have tour posters in the game during the various tour modes.

I think it’s pretty cool. Electric magic shows were like a circus, jugglers, plate spinners and trapeze acts during the show. Performing pigs too. Maybe they have video for all of this.

Quoted from PinballConspiracy:

Heard you can get Expression lighting on a Pro as an add on thru distributor
Anyone else hear this?

Can’t see how really, if you look at the photos closely it looks like a removable access panel to get at the bulbs so cab would have to be cutout for that you would think.

Would be nice add on for the pro buyers though.

#1810 10 months ago
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

I have listened three times now. If you took a bathroom break between minute 32 and 35 you’d have missed my points. I think this covers all
32:06 - 32:11 - code # is ?
32:12 - 32:16 - code is missing a few things that are planned.
32:17 - 32.33 - he needs to get the game done first, and then add co-op.
33:34 - 34:50 - he is still playing around with rules on HOW TO qualify the final mode.
33:51 - 34:01 - he is getting feedback and ideas from Stern’s Keith & Raymond and from beta testers.
34:21 - 34:33 - we’ll dial it in and we need more releases before we get to 1.0 code.
I think he says that two of the ten songs are not fully done or are not in, but I can’t locate that.
Reading between the lines and going unsaid - there is much to be done. Depending on how much support Tim gets from Stern for a title that has been released, is yet to be seen. So if it ends up being one guy supporting him, it could take six months in my estimation. He is not going to say I’ve got a shitload of work, the game has technical issues, a bug is causing it to crash, I don’t know how to create a certain effect, assets are missing etc. No, the code has a long ways to go, period. What am I missing?
We’ll be able to see for ourselves with the stream this Friday. Of course, am more pessimistic about it than you, my friend.
Edit - my understanding is that when the rules for qualifying and playing a final wizard mode are in flux, the entire structure of the game is also in flux and it is susceptible to dramatic changes.

Didn’t Tim say the final wizard mode( insert with Zep and ?) is qualified by completing all songs to the platinum level? He was pretty specific when talking about that particular wizard mode and went on to say if you happen to do this something really cool and special happens. I took that to mean it’s in there. Who knows?

Quoted from Chuckwebster:

Art is the icing on the cake. Game layout, code, reliability, tournament worthiness and fun factor are a 100x more important to me. I like to play my games, not just look at them. So far i like what i see with LZ and i have faith in Tim Sexton to come up with a great rule set. Personally i think the artwork is fine and will fit into my collection of Rock machines nicely although i do respect some of the criticisms.

Might be the first rational post of the day, crazy.

Quoted from jawjaw:

For me, gameplay is most important. Who cares how good a pin looks if it plays terrible or even just boring to play?

Bingo and really the prime reason I don’t buy more JJP games, other than POTC none do it for me as far as game play but boy are they nice to stand over and drool.

Can’t wait to see the game tonight, great vintage art, great music, lots of ramps, concert footage, album covers, tour posters and a new light show no doubt gonna be a cool rockin game.

Something I am curious about, what kind of callouts are we going to get from this guy?

I honestly was expecting $1500 after seeing it, especially when EHOH topper was $1000 and JP was $699. I thought the LZ license was going to inflate the price north of $1000. Yeah $850 is a lot but cheaper than I was thinking. But I didn’t mean to say $850 is cheap, just cheaper than I was expecting.

I agree I was prepared for north of 1k.

We are setting the market though by saying we were expecting it to be higher, this shit get seen by those guys and they will push the price elasticity limits.

#1971 10 months ago
Quoted from Chuckwebster:

Personally i would never spend big bucks on any topper. They just seem like a waste of money to me. With that said seeing the video of LZ topper was impressive. I think this is will be a must have for anyone who enjoys toppers on their games.

They are intended for the collector that doesn’t flip their games.

It is what it is but lately I’ve seen some insane resale prices on toppers, 2k for a Kiss topper?

#1973 10 months ago
Quoted from Elvishasleft:

I dont much care for toppers myself but that one is actually pretty cool and adds something to the game IMO

I’m wondering if the band member symbols are coded in to light individually when you collect them. Not real clear on PF but it is necessary for one of the MB’s.

You all hear that at the end of the stream? Sexton said this video will be on Stern Insider. So Jack said at the end "glad you said that, because I was about to upload it to YouTube". I wanted to watch it from the beginning..... Guess not.

I think it will be on both

#2091 10 months ago
Quoted from Hazoff:

What a crock of shit that is. I'll take an open PF and speed/flow over loaded bore fest any day. But luckily we have Stern for one and JJP fpr the other.

That looks like pure pinball shooting dream, I’m more than satisfied with the entire pkg and Tim said there is a good bit more to be added.

I’ll even go on to say this light show very well be better than The JJP hot rails.

I don’t know if it’s the placement, syncing to the music in detail of drum beat etc.. or just the colors chosen in tandem with the PF art.

Everything that seemed just ok in the photos really popped tonight, PF art, Blades, Plastics...

Stern captured the vintage 70’s vibe for sure!

#2097 10 months ago
Quoted from EMpins16:

Better than I thought it would be , just don’t know if it’s worth the premium price tag . The pro is worthless in my opinion , premium is the way to go. Was expecting a little more “ game” for the money , especially compared to other manufacturers at that price

You did hear the light show can be added to pro correct

#2225 10 months ago
Quoted from Shapeshifter:

So, the new Expression Lighting System is going to be available on the pro.
Guessing this is going to be on every pin going forward?
No more pinstadium on newer games?

I’m kind of hoping not on every game going forward, don’t think every theme needs it.

Might be a bit over the top for every game to have all these lighting systems.

#2238 10 months ago
Quoted from LOTR_breath:

Poor theme integration? I'm just not seeing it.
Tilt animation: A record spinning on the floor for the warning. It slows and falls over = Tilt
Match sequence: The iconic Physical Graffiti album cover shows the match numbers in the doors, then the album rolls out of the sleeve to reveal the match.
Gold records and platinum records awarded during songs that become the end of ball bonus.
Concert clips that have been "acidified", LOL
Lots of usage of the Led Zep font style
Free game animation looked like a door opening up to a backstage entrance.
The LCD surround is like a stage with speakers on the sides and lighting rigs overhead.
The two mini-wizard modes are called Top of the Charts and World Tour
The wizard mode name is unknown but the insert is a Zeppelin with a ?
These are all things that scream Led Zep. They were a band that toured and made awesome music. Not a movie, not a comic book, not a TV show.
The only negative I can see is the overuse of the Zeppelin but that doesn't really bother me too much.

Heard it again today that there may be a hidden Easter egg for the wizard mode.

It takes an email and no money to sign up. Not too difficult but I do work in marketing.

Exactly, if they got kicked off immediately they were going to go right over to YouTube but for some the stream worked all the way through.

Pretty sure the basic stern insider acct is free but correct, it can’t get taken down there.

Until DMCA is challenged, twitch and all the others are dead for streams with licensed audio.

#2258 10 months ago
Quoted from Tranquilize:

Maiden and Beatles are pretty protective of their license. Just sayin...

I think you missed what I was saying. Has nothing to do with LZ.
DMCA didn’t go nuts until mid year with all the bots that scan for this stuff.

Doesn’t matter who the band is, if you went on and streamed Metallica, you would get shutdown.

If Jack did a Beatles stream live last night same thing would have happened.

Need to find a way to get relief on this. It’s a problem.

#2262 10 months ago
Quoted from DCFAN:

One thing I don’t understand about this DMCA stuff, why is it that people can still have videos on YouTube such as ACDC pinball? What is the difference between live stream and saved video?

Quoted from Greaseman:

My opinion after watching the stream twice:
Overall Play: Lots of flow (best combo looks like the left orbit to the upper right flipper, through the reverse scoop to feed back to the right flipper), open playfield, very fast, awesome music (of course - ha ha), tons of backhand options, didn't seem drain heavy (but I'm sure I'll turn it into a drain heavy machine), cool ramps (love the overall action on the balls coming back to flippers), the right ramp that returns to the right flipper looked tough - saw some kick backs that looked like good shots, lack of toys to interact with (has been pointed out ad nauseum), Electric Magic device looks cool and has function (not earth shattering but a good addition), I liked the spinner noise, lights overall are awesome
Code Completion: Tim Sexton had said on a podcast there is a lot more work to do and refrained from giving a version number, some of the lights looked out of synch with the music (I believe Tim had said he has more work to do on some of the songs - going on memory here), the tour modes looked cool - seems like a neat objective to get through those as they get harder to initiate as you progress, earning gold (and eventually platinum) seems fun for individual songs, songs continue where you left off with next ball (phew...), multi-balls need to be earned and seems like good pacing to them (not too many of them), shot multiplier is unique (I like it, but I'm a math nerd), not much on the Wizard modes yet including the big "?" unless I missed something (Tim being coy here)
Overall: I can't wait to get my LE. I was really happy with how it looked. But, as I've mentioned in other posts, I'm a total noob.

Good write up pretty much sums up my thoughts.

Couple of things, something that looked cool and I swear I saw this was upper right flipper to center ramp and left
Main flipper through electric magic but bounced off right inside of housing and up center ramp. Pretty sure this happened.

I heard Tim refer to the tour mode at bottom as a mini wizard leaving the other two as main wizards.
The one with the ? He has been pretty coy about and said something special or spectacular happens. Well, based on what we’ve seen what can there be that would be special and cool?

#2460 9 months ago

If the LZ artist had been hired for GnFnR ....

Can you give us non GNR owners a skeleton or skull count to compare with the zepp’s and icarus?

Hoping Jack gets a studio video up this week, second half of fridays was ok but Tim talked way too f’ing much.

#2487 9 months ago
Quoted from Greaseman:

As for wizards, I REALLY hope a song (or 2) unlocks. I was hoping for 12 songs overall. If I can unlock at least one I'd be pretty happy - I love objectives that are tough with a sweet payoff, that's one of the things that keeps me coming back.

It’s a possibility, not sure what else can happen to be spectacular or special, no hidden mech and what else can you do with a light show so unless it’s some sort of crazy video mode it has to be in form of music, pure speculation.

I’ll have to go back to the 1:08 mark to see the shot to the center ramp through electric magic. Just looking at it and we don’t have a great view but that seems more repeatable than the upper right flip to the center.

Also kind of crazy that right ramp can be made via backhand, looks long, far and steep0.
