Steve and Tim are going to knock it out the park on this!

Quoted from Rarehero:Ever since I got into this hobby (around 2005), I've heard collectors say LED ZEPPELIN LED ZEPPELIN LED ZEPPELIN LED ZEPPELIN LED ZEPPELIN. The older collectors have always wanted this. Plus, it's Steve Ritchie & they love him. That being said, quite a few of the "old guard" aren't into NIB anymore due to price/quality. I get the feeling that the new NIBNEWB collectors won't be so into this title. I could be totally wrong. Anyway, while I love music games, I've never really cared about LZ...I'll be watching from the sidelines...curious to see how it shakes out.
agree, I'm sitting this out until I play it which means I either miss out on LE or wait for someone to sell theirs. I'm not a big enough fan to buy LZ without playing it first. I also don't like IMDN but got to play that easy enough to jump on that bandwagon.
Quoted from BowlingJim:I hope they do not put Stairway to heaven in the game. I cant stand that song.
I think you got two hopes, Bob Hope and No Hope.

Quoted from Psw757:Holy shit, you see the topper....wow
you can say that again! and for a grand it damn well should be
Quoted from javagrind888:Does anyone get the feeling this is going to be code barren like Munsters?
it definitely isn't.
btw, there is some BS about no drops on the pro and less multi balls - pretty sure that isn't the case. Sometimes the amount of fabrication on this forum esp on the hype threads is irritating.
The game has ten songs which I read as ten modes, how many modes does GOTG have? Then I can see a few multi ball modes and likely a few wizard modes thus pretty much inline with every pinball machine made. Folks are moaning about the layout, I like Steve's layouts because they are max flow and they are very backhand able which isn't the case with some others. I'm not a LZ fan but the art and theme looks good, and with a band that's been around as much as LZ there is a lot to chose from and making all of the people happy is not so easy. I think the blue armour like the yellow armour will look mech better in person.
Cheers,
Neil.
Quoted from TreyBo69:I wonder how long ago Stern started planning the side rail lights. Just interesting GNR and LZ have a similar feature in such a short time span. I would think Stern was working on it before the GNR reveal, but it'd be funny if they spent the last two months cramming it in there.
I don't think you could knock something so well integrated in a couple of months. My money is they were there from the start.
Quoted from TreyBo69:There is one less multiball on the pro. This is confirmed in the Stern feature matrix. The center toy isn't present or compensated for in the pro, so its multiball is entirely missing.
sorry correct, that one is right apologies, just some other BS further up.
Quoted from newtoit:Aerosmith 2.0
If its Steve Ritchie and Timmy Sexton stay the hell away. BKSOR has the weakest code and never got a real update.
This game looks as bare as possible. I feel bad for all the LZ fans that waited for this.. prob feel like i did when i bought the BKSORLE.
nonsense.
folks - do we really need to get personal on this, sure if you don't like the game or Stern the company say why but too much personal bs on Steve and Tim and the rest of the Stern team, they are good people and you guys do us pinsiders no great help in getting personal.
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:I read it, and one thing leaped right out at me.....
IT PLAYS THE SONGS IN THE ORDER OF THE LIST ON THE BACK PANEL
Woof! Hope everyone likes hearing "Good times Bad Times" about a MILLION times. Have they learned nothing from "Ok who brought the dog?" and the mistakes of linear mode play? Switch the song order up with some switch hits or allow player to select.
Repetitive play is stagnant play IMO.
[quoted image]
Not correct you can select the song per ball.
Quoted from flynnibus:"It plays the songs in the order of the list on the back panel"
Cue the 'who brought the dog' complaints!
its doesn't you select the song at each ball
Quoted from speedxde:steve ritchie has destroyed his life's work, what were those days when he designed the terminator
not the case.
the problem with a band like LZ is that it has so many stages and there is so much history to cover vs GNR (and I have a GNR sitting in a port somewhere) who really did a handful of albums and then stopped. Hard for a designer to get what everyone wants and he has to take his own path on it. I'm not an LZ fan but it looks like it ticks the boxes, but id have loved Stairway but understand its not a pinball friendly tune, sure if you have the band work with you and they are into pinball its going to be an entirely different situation. I'd have loved to have seen the celebration day artwork but that's because its the only artwork I could pick out as LZ.
Having watched the game I really like it, typical Steve flow, Tim with a new take on rules and aligning them closer to the song, some superb fast shots, and a lot of speed on the ball, I think this will be great with a few buddies and a beer and a great tournament game. Will pick it up in the new year. Huge congrats to Steve, Tim, Ray and the rest of the Stern team.
